It's really good. I even throw a little Ronnie Wood into it and add an instrumental slide section to it. Open tuning is perfect for slide!! Thank You Sir, Great lesson as I am teaching Open tuning right now and needed to revisit this song as its perfect for my students. Many songs in Drop D
you're okay unless it's a junk guitar if you want to play an open E tuning just make sure you don't leave a guitar anywhere you tune strings up that's the best advice I can give.. wellshire guitars will go up to open tuning just fine even open to eat but once you're done playing make sure you tune it back down that's just it I would never put a guitar away where I have to tune up strings if I tune them down that's fine.. but as far as open E do you want to crank the guitar up the opening it should do just perfectly fine have some fun playing but just make sure when you're done tune it back down again..
You should be holding down second fret on the high "a" string (usually the "b" string in standard tuning). That will make it a "b" so it fits the "G" chord. Add some hammer-ons to make it sound like the record. Otherwise you're playing a "G" chord with a high "a". Try it. You'll see what I mean. Still a good tutorial. Cheers!

Great tutorial! You could just put a capo on II to make an open E.
Great details ... I never had this quite right. Gonna work it some more now. Thanks.
Thanks . yes, I'd rather tune down also... instead of putting all the tension on the neck and strings.
tks....I WAS worried when I cranked up those thick strings.
great video dude....its a mighty thang!
Great tutorial!

You should record a lesson of Cocaine Blues performed by Keith Richards.
You're welcome, glad I could help!
