Great video Alan, I didn't have the same problem as your good self however I had disassembled my unit a few years back when it stopped working and consigned it to the shed, I thought I better have a go at repairing it before deciding whether to buy another. A clean out of the jet and reassembly from your video and we're cooking again. Might even treat it to a new grill plate, many thanks!
Nice video Alan. Good to see that spare parts are available for these, not just a use until it breaks and buy another, we love our Safari Chef 2 so good to see ‘how-to’s’ on little fixes. Andy and Kim.
Thanks for this. I have the exact problem except that I'm not aware of how the ring got threaded - I certainly didn't knowingly turn the burner. Anyway, new part ordered and hopefully that will be problem solved.
Very useful to know - I will stop turning mine as tried to get the spark to work more efficiently and now it doesn’t. I think I may have also caused a connection issue so very interesting to see and realise I have the same problem. Think I might need to order the spare part 😀 Thank you so much, very well explained, Have a great weekend, all the best, David & Rachel 👍
Hello Coffeevanners, we have the same problem with ours…….I don’t see that as being your fault, I see that as a design fault…….to me plastic is the wrong material to have a burner connected to seeing as the burner gets extremely hot, I have been a gas engineer since 1973 & I’ve never seen a burner screwed onto a piece of plastic………….surely it should be made of brass or stainless ?…for what these things cost they are very cheaply made, if I had seen one before buying I don’t think I would have bothered…..they don’t even have an FFD (flame failure device)……Terry
