  • Cadac Safari Chef 2 QR - cooking and cleaning tips.
    As a couple, we were looking to purchase a gas BBQ, having never cooked on gas before.
    So many posts on social media have said how hard it is to clean the Cadac. Of course being a ceramic coated product, it needs care and attention but that doesn't mean it has to be hard work. In this video we show just how easy it is to use.
    Below are links to other RUclips channels that we feel show off the product so if you are thinking of buying this product, you can do so with confidence.

    Love our Cadac. Thanks for sharing. Cleaning has always been an issue unless I heat the plate. Happy Camping James

    Top tip from my mate who is a professional oven cleaner
    DO NOT USE WATER
    Cover the area in Neat Fairy Liquid no water let is soak in the neat Fairy liquid and ONLY use water to do final rinse

    Thanks for the shout out Alan. You just need some drainpipe legs to free up the table. Some good tips in this one. Thanks for sharing your experience and may you enjoy this lovely piece of cooking gear for as long as we have. Andy and Kim.

    Paper towels are the best way to clean any non-stick pans, especially when camping. Good review. Thanks

      It really is a great bit of kit but do get that the coating does wear off in time so an oven liner will be needed long term. You won't in our opinion regret buying one. Search for Lee on the Tintenter RUclips channel for cooking tips. 😍😍

    Hi, we started with the same size as yours but found it was just too small, a couple of steaks or burgers and there was no room for anything else such as vegetables or if we had visitors. Bought the next size up but not the really large one. Also found as mentioned before that the paella pan works well, no need for the extra spray or oil at the end to clean it, just heat it up and wipe it. Brilliant bit of kit, whichever you buy.

    You could also try putting a bit of water on the fry plate, and boil it for a bit, using a plastic spatula to gently scrape the bits off. Works in the kitchen with crusty pans 😁

    Alan & Allie, great video but as a caravanner of 49 yrs and a Head Chef for many yrs can I make a recommendation, that is don’t use Frylight when heated it leaves a polymer on the hot plates or pans which normal cleaning products will not move. I because of my wife have had many hours at Slimming World who heavily recommend the use of Frylight and because of my experience I was asked many times if the build up of the polymer can be moved, the only thing I’ve used that will move this film is a product called Vanquish which is an industrial oven cleaner. I get mine from a company called Chemical Hut but there will be other places and the cost is reasonable at around £2 per litre, be warned though unless you wear gloves and use a nylon or silicon brush it will eat your fingerprints and eat the brush. Keep enjoying the cooking.

      I've actively encouraged a polymerised seasoning onto my cadac griddle plate. I was always told that a seasoned coating (with a high smoke-point oil) was a good thing?

      On this particular model, No. Saying that it is literally a quarter of a turn from high to low and you very quickly get to know where you are.

    Can you please tell me how to fry eggs on the safari chef thank you

    • @Coffeevaners
      @Coffeevaners  Год назад

      To stop them sticking, use silicon egg rings, a bit of spray oil - warm and then on lowest heat cook the eggs. we flip them so once firm, trim from egg rings, flip for a minute and serve. if your finding the plate still has stuff sticking on lowest heat then use an oven liner on top of the plate. Thats what works for us. Give it a go :-)

    Help please. Love my Safari but the burner just seems to have two settings! Low and Max. Flame increases when dial reaches halfway, then doesn’t increase further. To fine-tune the burner I have to use the dial between Max and Off. Is my burner control faulty? Thanks.

    • @Coffeevaners
      @Coffeevaners  3 года назад

      On ours, turn anticlockwise to 9 o'clock position is full. If we continue turning till flame is at 6 o'clock position that is its lowest setting. Hope that helps

      @@Coffeevaners Thanks for reply. I’m still no neare to an answer. Basically, should the flame be variable between max and low. Mine just seems to have two settings. Cheers.

    • @Coffeevaners

      Ours is variable. Flame gets steadily lower as you turn

    Great. But. NEVER put a fork in your steak when it’s still on the grill. You were talking about the moist that stays in the meat. Well you just ruined that!

      It's not a cleaning fluid. It's just a spray vegetable oil. 👍
