In conversation with Mr. Mark Sutch

Please go through a heart to heart conversation of Mr. Mark Sutch, Chief Commercial Officer - Cargo (International), IndiGo, covered by Stat Times during ACFI Conclave 2023.
Mr. Sutch highlighted in the interview that with the right government initiatives, resources and investment from manufacturers there is scope for growth of the Indian Air Cargo sector. He said, currently 90% international carriers are contributing to cargo movements from the country; there is a need for domestic airlines to come into picture and help in the air cargo growth story of India.
He further added that Indigo has begun the journey of cargo business and Covid provided an opportunity to be one of the contributors in supporting global supply chains. He exclaimed, '' I am bullish about Air Cargo in general.'' He further said that with Govt.of India initiatives, improvement in customs processes, digitization, development of new facilities etc. there is scope for building trans-shipment hubs in India.
The air traffic will further grow in 2023 as we see a positive movement in this direction, owing to export of perishables and more manufacturing goods, commented Mr. Sutch.
Before he concluded his interview he spoke about the highlights of ACFI Conclave, where Government's thoughts & ideas were shared first hand by Govt. of India representatives. He shared that It is great to see that Govt. is focussing on Air Cargo, since aviation is the top focus area for them, and Air Cargo being a sub set of aviation will hugely benefit too.
