The library is actually where I get all my books for hallowing. They keep a box outside for discarded books for anyone's taking. I check it daily for claim on the hardcovers
I glued the first 70 pages... the book wasn't that thick.. I'm making some for money.. some of my classmates are buying thick books to give to me and paying me to make them the book.. I'm such a nice person😋
You can also cut in a small magnet to hold the book closed. You will have to cut the magnet in the book part deep enough so that the magnet glued to the cover will seat down flush in the hole.
There are faster ways of doing this. I made one for each member of my family by taking a book, folding the cover boards back and sandwiching the pages between two pieces of 1/4” plywood. Clamp the book in place then drill a 3/8” hole through the center of the whole thing (not through the cover boards) Now take either a power jigsaw or a coping saw, put the blade through the hole and cut out your rectangle. The plywood will keep the pages firmly in place. Now you’ll have your box shaped book, but the pages will still fan. Open the book and line the inside with glue covered sheets of paper and you’re done. The whole process takes less than an hour.
Elizabeth Middleton I saw your comment. It is "I've" and "your" and "It's" and again "It's". Just saying. Kudos Disney Dreaming for the tip! I have also found mod podge works great. Also, I find lining it with felt gives the inside a good look.
Great old trick 👍 You may use phone book as well and to prevent opening by itself stick thin magnet on side/s.. My English is not perfect, hopefully you understand what I mean. Cheers! 😊
once one of my cousins found a Harry Potter book and made this, later on she became a potterhead.. let's just say she exploded with anger, it was extremely priceless to watch
Yeah, I found two very thick, large, old Harry Potter books yesterday at a thrift shop. Perfect size! Personally I could care less about Harry Potter, but I was afraid someone else might not like that I gutted those old books. I’m making one of these for a 12 year old’s birthday gift. I ended up getting a cheap hard cover cookbook, and 2nd book: Hunchback of Notre Dame with gold edge pages.
Liza Glover this video is quite helpful for making a secret book . Another resource I also found helpfull for how to attract affirmations for wealth and abundance is Elumpa Fast Manifestation Alchemist - find it on google if you want
I like your idea of adding an applied liner to dress it up. Also, I use an oscillating multi-tool to cut out the interior for a very quick & neat finish!
I just don't get how rubbing a little glue on the OUTSIDE of the pages solidifies and makes a book solid.....looks like you would have to glue each page to the other on the INSIDE.....or is this some kind of special penetrating glue???
Nah we'll attempt to do this and just say fuck it and just put it between pages, you and me, just the two of us we can make it if we try just the two of us.
i dont like adding glue to the outside of the pages because its to obvious when you see the top of the book that its glued together. i clamp the book down to cut it and then glue the inside after so you cant tell its there.
Hi! i am making one of these for my friend and i glued about 15 pages or so in the front so i could keep the front page art but now there is a huge crease that makes it almost impossible for the book to stay closed on its own. Is there any way I can get rid of the crease? Or is there an easy way to remove the glue to reglue it? PLEASE HELP!
Aw, big bummer!!! I wondered about that. I was thinking it would be better to just leave those first pages free. Why bother glue them. Anyway, thank you for sharing your experience. I’m sorry that happened. But it helps others to know. ✌️
A Book You Can Use Is Readers Digest. I Have That Book In My House. And It Has Many Pages Like Yours. And I Have Tons Of Those It Was From My Uncle He Lives In LA California. Nice Video BTW.
I’ve watched probably a dozen videos and learn something from every single one. Several have used Mod Podge. I’m in the process of making one now but haven’t used the Mod Podge yet because it says on the bottle it takes a month to cure. I got a matt Mod Podge because I don’t want shine. I primed my books with gesso. Then I’ll paint one of the two books white. One book has a cool cover so I’ll maybe découpage a little something on it, but leaving the book design open for ideas. BTW, there’s a great RUclips video for Mod Podge. Definitely worthy checking it out, even if you’ve used it before. It’s so versatile! I know your question is a few months old, but maybe my answer will still help someone.
the students at my school used to do this to smuggle their phones into school and use it during class but then later on the teachers and prefects caught on and started checking people's books so they stopped doing it lolol
holy shit that was some dramatic background music
I was thinking the same thing XD
Yeah it’s very OTT
Lmao, I was starting to wonder why my heart rate was going through the roof. That music was intense
I feel like I was listening to Burzum's latest
Cos it's not easy to cut a book
The library is actually where I get all my books for hallowing. They keep a box outside for discarded books for anyone's taking. I check it daily for claim on the hardcovers
I was worried for a moment 😆😅
I glued the first 70 pages... the book wasn't that thick..
I'm making some for money.. some of my classmates are buying thick books to give to me and paying me to make them the book.. I'm such a nice person😋
now , he would be a stupid person for doing for free
Ruth Boon smart ass
Ruth Boon I know its thick but....is ot *T* *H* *I* *C* *C* *?*
When I was in Year 6 some girls were doing that too :)

Fucking great idea
I want to do this with a dictionary so I can eat Spaghetti in class.
Probably a small gun safe is your best bet.
+Connor Beiter I don't know but it has to be spaghetti
Wait you aren't who I meant to reply to
+Connor Beiter Spaghetti
You are my new best friend😂😂😂
I imagine a lot of people are watching this to hide their weed.
and condoms
yez
I know I am
I wanna hide it from the airport ,
Sure
just use the twilight series. nobody would pick it up
kevin yoon i'm doing this, and i picked up a twilight book immediately
LMFAO
Omg u savage that was from the library
Libraries throw out old books sometimes. If it's something nobody ever checks out, and they need to make room on the shelves...

As an artist I'd suggest using rubber cement as it wont make the pages wrinkle like normal glue
Nichole Sinclair i think this wasnt necessary, because the paper was pushed down by the weight anyway
+Nic S modge Podge is way better
+Elizabeth Middleton umm ive seen all of ur comments and its not modge podge its mod podge
Thanks, so sorry to have misspelled that. Now you can feel awesome for have correcting me. Thanks once again!

no books were harmed in the making of this video
What a great way to bring my phonr in school
Porn...phone...same thing.
Jullian Bilan One of my classmates did this to bring their phone....ended up getting it confiscated and left the teacher with a shocking expression 😂
Hihihihihihihih
Trans- ART lmao that’s why if I do this (which I will) in would just carry the notebook to somewhere safer and just use da phone
thank you now I can hide my food
Donald Trumpet Same.
you make it seem easy. although it's likely a lot of work, it's very straight forward and quite efficient. thanks for the tutorial. i'm gonna try it
when the instruction says : apply the weight. it really is a weight xp

A library book???
What type of glue did you use and knife like thing
Liza Glover this video is quite helpful for making a secret book . Another resource I also found helpfull for how to attract affirmations for wealth and abundance is Elumpa Fast Manifestation Alchemist - find it on google if you want
+Neil Bergin you use an exacto knife and super glue
+Neil Bergin you use an Exacto knife and modge podge NOT Super Glue.
a library book????

The idea is to keep it simple...of using that kind of machine then what's the point of making it.. just asking
@@starboy001 The point is to hide/stash valuables & cash... just sayin' - I have the tools why not use them?
@@cwitham69mao fuck that dude. i was literally looking for a comment like urs cuz i'm using a thesaurus and this mf got hella pages
For anyone looking to do this you can cut the time it takes in half using any cordless drill and a hand coping saw.
This looks great, the only problem is if ur looking for a really good place to hide this book will automatically open up to the compartment
freaky background music
Yeah I can agree😜
+Forever Young idk why but i love it, it made the video so intense like...whats gonna happen next? OMG....he's letting it dry again!"
first u r an artist man and the final resolt was amazing .
man i would be happy if u tell me what kind of glue u've used
thanx
Is gluing the first 20 pages necessary instead of just being able to open the cover of the book for the secret compartment?
You did a great job of providing the information in a quick and efficient mannter.
now I know what to do to my twilight books
Chanyeol's Derp Face Infires Me Man... I'll join the club.
Who else was like "Damn, you savage. This book was from the library." 😂😂😂
Now I can pack chips in there while in the library :))

Public library LOL
also great vid
he bought it
put some weight
me: *sits on the book*
Cool! Love it!
Oh I did this and put chalkboard paint on the insides so I can write my notes and messages on too! 🙃
I could hide a flask in there!
I have wanted to know how to make this for the longest time! Thank you!!
This video is painful for readers
Thelma DeLaMont yes , it is to me
yeah, I feel bad for the book... 😔
Rosquilla4Ever Well, I approve that😂
Thelma DeLaMont exactly
Thelma DeLaMont Not to all...what about those books that could be boring or not in our specified genre. Had to make better use of it to be honest.
Great tutorial thank you
Cool but creepy music
i like how it had a public library stamp on one of the pages
I just don't get how rubbing a little glue on the OUTSIDE of the pages solidifies and makes a book solid.....looks like you would have to glue each page to the other on the INSIDE.....or is this some kind of special penetrating glue???
Very cool project what glue did you use?
Yay now we can hide our weed lol
exactly!!!!!!
thats why i was looking for this video lol ;p
haha that sucks mine came out alright not the best but also not the worst
Nah we'll attempt to do this and just say fuck it and just put it between pages, you and me, just the two of us we can make it if we try just the two of us.
lol 69
This was solid. Thanks for the vid
if you want you can add small magnets to the inside of the book so that it stays shut when you close it
I’m sure I’m being thick here but what’s the point of gluing the first 20 pages together? I can’t see what difference it would make.
How do you get the divider off so clean? Mine stick to the pages.
About time that book became useful
Is this only for hard covered books ?
What type of glue would work well for this
Good and straight to the point!
This is awesome~ I just made one with chipboard and a box~
thanks
~Stacy Nicolle
This is awesome @Von Malegowski how long did it take?
I made mine in a locking diary/journal. That way it wont look suspicious having a lock on it. And less likely to be picked up and looked at by people
Could I use any kind of glue or just plain glue?
i dont like adding glue to the outside of the pages because its to obvious when you see the top of the book that its glued together. i clamp the book down to cut it and then glue the inside after so you cant tell its there.
what was the title of that book ?
Nice idea for an escape room : ) Thanks.

Wow! That's pretty cool
Thx. I’m using my brothers Harry Potter book! 😂😂
what kind of glue did you use

What's the reason for gluing the first 20 pages to the front?
What type of glue?
Really good!!
Making one from a classic fairy tales book. Then filling with trinkets and giving to my 3 year old neice. Thank you.
dreas mom great idea. Thanks..will do one for my grandaughter 👍
Love this idea..thanks so much for sharing 💕
Hey was that Elmer's glue?
what are you using to cut it
Could you tell me how many pages the book, used in the video, approximately has?
This was really cool but...what was with the creepy music?
Why glue the first 20 pages together ?
What did you use as the glue and does it age well?
I’ve watched probably a dozen videos and learn something from every single one. Several have used Mod Podge. I’m in the process of making one now but haven’t used the Mod Podge yet because it says on the bottle it takes a month to cure. I got a matt Mod Podge because I don’t want shine.

I might try this. There's a problem at my school where people steal iPods and iPhones for drug money and stuff. This might be very useful.
I love it sow much
I love the idea of this but I could never do that to a book.
What type of glue should I use
I could totally bring this at my school for safety purposes
Finally I have a use for all those Bibles I stole from hotel rooms
what sort of knife do you have
whats the purpose of gluing the pages together? Makes it easier for someone to flip to the vault.
So it is easier to cut the compartment whole thingy.
Will Elmer's liquid glue work or not?
fantastic bro
I am so doing this!
That better not be the bible or u goin to hell boiii
lol , i was thinking the same thing
Jaden Maldonado Doesn't seem like the bible though.
Jaden Maldonado The creator of this video commented that it was some boring history book on economics. It's all good.
I’m gunna use the Bible it seems like a good book
@@SewerRat_00 im gonna use bible too... fuck religion biatch
Is the glue visible on the outside? What kind of glue did you use?
KBean Seems like he used very little of a clear glue..
most glues dry clear so yea
Perfect for bunkering Gahnja
does it _have_ to be liquid glue?
+Creative_ art1st no it can be solid glue
How long did it take you to make this?
Clever idea for school to hide my phone :D
This music makes this feel like a scene where the main hero is hiding a special pendant to save the world.
Is there a way u can make a latch on it or like a lock
Why does it have to be glued? What's the point?
+Jon R XD right?
add some little magnets to keep it close
Oh that's a great idea!
What's the music. That was awesome
Nice thematic music
I could easily do this.
Can you just use basic Elmer’s glue for this?
yes
