As an artist, I highly recommend matte screen protectors. The more pixel density (resolution) the screen has, the less clarity it loses. BUT with that being said, Paper-Like is just a regular matte screen protector. Nothing fancy about it and you get absolutely the same performance by ANY random screen protector brand. I personally use "Super Shieldz Antiglare" and which is extremely cheap, you get 3 pack and I haven't had to change it for like 3 years now on my iPad PRO 10 inch. With glass, you will always loose precision on your pen, especially on tilt - especially since the Apple Pencil isn't that great of a precision tool. With glossy screen protector, you have less control and it just doesn't feel right if you are an artist. It also glares AF, so it's almost impossible to draw anything on it.
I personally use the PITAKA case along with the ESR Foilo and the Apple Magic Keyboard. Which all fits in the tomtoc case. That combination allows me to either go light mobile or go heavier “laptop” mode while still having the protection of the PITAKA case.
I will never rely on anyone else for my tech suggestions. You guys are da bomb, and I know I can trust your intel. Plus, I appreciate how you talk about weaknesses and show off things like edge size, ports; just a lot of things I personally am looking for (I like hands on reviews and this is the closest I get to them), as most other reviewers do not. I’ve finally purchased the Apple Magic Keyboard for my 12.9” iPad Pro (M1) - This was only after two failed attempts at trying to be frugal…and not pay that Apple Tax. Both third party options had their positives, like the additional row of keyboard shortcuts. But at the end of the day, the user friendliness & fluidity, that I am accustomed to when using Apple products, is just not there. And most of the difference comes down to the trackpad. Also, I love the instantaneous connection to the keyboard. Basically I’ve wasted a lot of time over the last month learning from my mistakes, when I should have just listened to your review, which I even watched before I made any purchases. Luckily Amazon makes returns easy, and I found a barely used Magic Keyboard for just $200 locally. Thanks for the reviews, both of you, I’ve learned a lot.

The Mous iPad case was the one I was looking for when I got my new iPad. But they’re not releasing until august. I just don’t understand why they’re releasing so long after the device.
I think this selection of Accessories would be the best imo for mostly everyone: 1. Skip the Case and get the Logitech Combo touch with the romovable back cover which offers alot of protection and generally is a bit better than the Magic Keyboard in a few ways. 1.1. Them being that you can actually set you Ipad in different angles, You can Remove the Ipad and also get Military Grade Protection, You Alse get Apples Smart connector, it also has space for the apple pencil.There is also a space for you to stow your pencil a leather covering with the case that stows it away so that you don't lose it in the bag or smth. 1.2. the only Cons I believe is that you can't change the Ipad with the extra botton USB-C port that you get on the Magic Keyboard which keeps a port free on your Ipad[This is not something to take in consideration Imo but you do you] and the fact the the Combo touch is a bit heavier but a few 10s of grams maybe it's generally not noticeable. 1.1.1 This section os for the subjective things about the keyboards, You can't magnetically detach you Ipad with the Combo Touch as you can with the magic keyboard[But remember you can detach with the case and you get protection plus reattaching the Ipad with the combo touch isn't that much of a hassle] and the Combo touch isn't compatible with Ipad Air, but it is with the 2018,2020,2021 Ipads, both the 11 and 12.9 inch depending on which one you buy *Disclaimer if you use the latest Ipad with the Newer Combo Touch the speakers will be a bit covered so audio quality might be affected*, so you may buy the combo touch for your specific device depending on the year instead of using one for all More info on their website: www.logitech.com/en-us/products/ipad-keyboards/combo-touch.html 2. For the chargers go for the Anker if you don't have space to spare for your ports and the Spigen if you do and from a travelling perspective the foldable plugs don't make that much of a difference, just keep your tech things in a tech bag or even if you don't have that it's no biggie, non-foldable plugs aren't gonna ruin your travels. It's not super obvious (because most tutorials don't talk about this) but there's a reason why many screen protectors comes with 3 pieces of tape that are too small to remove dust from the screen. Basically, you use two to tape the screen protector to the screen before removing the protective film, and put the third one to the opposite side of the screen protector to use as a handle, remove the protective film and gently lay down the screen protector. This way you can get 100% accuracy with no bubble first try, and literally no other tools are needed.
I would highly recommend the Zugu Muse Alpha iPad Pro case. It’s amazing and very well constructed and offered great protection. I recommend you check out the Alpha series!
Firstly thank you for the review. Anytime I look for reviews your the first and usually only one I check out. I am surprised to not see the Zugu case, Logitech Combo Touch, and FloLab screen protector. Also I don’t know why few ever mention putting on both glass and matte screen protectors. I have the 12.9 FloLab glass screen protector, then PaperLike V2 atop that. No issues with my Zugu case. Would really like to see the Combo Touch vs the Magic Keyboard and the Zugu vs Otterbox Symmetry. Those seem like the top dogs.
I feel it’s worth mentioning that even the big chunky otterbox cases don’t make the iPad immune from torsion damage - not a pro but my son managed to bend his iPad Air 3 while in an otterbox case, it bent around the side smart connector. The case did thankfully seem to stop it from bending to a point where it was irreparable and I was able to bend it most of the way back leaving only a very slight bend but the experience definitely rattled me.
My school uses the OtterBox cases for our school issued ipads and (I'm in highschool) one of the guys in my class took his and slammed it as hard as he could face down and it bent the iPad......soooo yeah

Hey I just ordered a iPad Pro 12.9 for drawing, Ik the Matte would feel nice with the pencil but I don’t wanna take away from that mini led goodness so I guess I’m forced to go with glass and have one question, u said the glass makes the iPad thicker so does that mean the pencil will feel like it’s floating and look and feel weird when drawing, if you could test it out for me that would be greatly appreciated. I can't recommend any paperlike or sth. for the iPad at all. The wear on the Tip of your Pencil is really heavy. After just 2 Months of studying i need a new tip. Again... Anyway, thanks for your Reviews. Love you guys
@@demon6937 I just use a random Glass for iPads. Omoton works fine for me. It had a tool for positioning too. Basically most of the sheets in the mid-range in Price are good enough. And they are as half time cheaper as the paper-foils. After 6 months it’s still good, but the oleophobic Layer disappears in time am it’s going to be more rough. But in the package are two of them, so I’m happy with it.
I was almost considering paper like but was still very skeptical, after seeing all of the reviews saying that both the protector and the pencil tip wears out faster I ended up instead opting for silicone tips and they’re perfect for me since they offer that little bit of resistance and even protect both the screen and pencil tip

I only lasted a few days of fingerprints before I had to put a matte protector on the M1 iPad Pro 12.9. Those prints bug me far more than the impact of the protector.

Can I use the Mushi washable/removeable cover over a glass screen protector? I like the clarity of the glass, but would also use my pencil from time to time.
having had using my 2-in-1 laptop tablet for notes, I became very used to the glass-friction feeling of they stylus nubs on the glass screen. That being said, would you the glass screen protector offer the same feeling from the apple pencil, as it would on the ipad's raw screen?

I doubt anyone will respond to this since this video was out for a while, but i am about to get my new ipad pro soon (and my first ever ipad). After a lot of research i bought few accessories such as a ipad case for travel (this is just in case) and the apple case/pen. after weeks of not knowing what to buy for a screen protector as I am planning to draw a lot on it but also like viewing content etc, I decided on buying one of those magnetic screen protectors that you can tear on and off, which seems to act similar to that moshi ivisor you guys mentioned and i really appreciate you guys sharing. what I was curious about is, if i am only using this magnetic one to draw and then take the screen protector of for other uses. will that cause me more risk of scratches with the ipad not having any screen protector on even if i am planning to use my fingers without one?

This is the first time I've seen a RUclipsr not recommend the Paper-like screen protector. Literally every other IPad RUclipsr I've watched uses and recommends it, even artists.
Because Paper-like sponsors a lot. A LOT! It's a few cents worth screen protector and all the surplus money it costs goes to the marketing. Since this channel isn't obviously about art, they don't really understand what's the deal around matte screen protectors. But you will get the same effect from any other screen protector foil (I wouldn't recommend glass if you want to use pen on it). To put it in the perspective, my 3 pack of matte screen protectors cost 8 dollars and I still use the first one as an artist for 3 years now. With Paperlike, you pay 40!!! dollars and you get 2 of the same quality, but better marketing. It's just wasted money.

To be clear, only the newest 12.9 inch has the Liquid Retina XDR screen. The newest 11 inch iPad Pro had the regular Liquid Retina screen.

Hey I just ordered a iPad Pro 12.9 for drawing, Ik the Matte would feel nice with the pencil but I don’t wanna take away from that mini led goodness so I guess I’m forced to go with glass and have one question, u said the glass makes the iPad thicker so does that mean the pencil will feel like it’s floating and look and feel weird when drawing, if you could test it out for me that would be greatly appreciated. I can't recommend any paperlike or sth. for the iPad at all. The wear on the Tip of your Pencil is really heavy. After just 2 Months of studying i need a new tip. Again...

@@demon6937 I just use a random Glass for iPads. Omoton works fine for me. It had a tool for positioning too. Basically most of the sheets in the mid-range in Price are good enough. And they are as half time cheaper as the paper-foils. After 6 months it’s still good, but the oleophobic Layer disappears in time am it’s going to be more rough.
But in the package are two of them, so I’m happy with it.

I was almost considering paper like but was still very skeptical, after seeing all of the reviews saying that both the protector and the pencil tip wears out faster I ended up instead opting for silicone tips and they’re perfect for me since they offer that little bit of resistance and even protect both the screen and pencil tip

I only lasted a few days of fingerprints before I had to put a matte protector on the M1 iPad Pro 12.9. Those prints bug me far more than the impact of the protector.

having had using my 2-in-1 laptop tablet for notes, I became very used to the glass-friction feeling of they stylus nubs on the glass screen. That being said, would you the glass screen protector offer the same feeling from the apple pencil, as it would on the ipad's raw screen?

I doubt anyone will respond to this since this video was out for a while, but i am about to get my new ipad pro soon (and my first ever ipad). After a lot of research i bought few accessories such as a ipad case for travel (this is just in case) and the apple case/pen.
after weeks of not knowing what to buy for a screen protector as I am planning to draw a lot on it but also like viewing content etc, I decided on buying one of those magnetic screen protectors that you can tear on and off, which seems to act similar to that moshi ivisor you guys mentioned and i really appreciate you guys sharing.
what I was curious about is, if i am only using this magnetic one to draw and then take the screen protector of for other uses. will that cause me more risk of scratches with the ipad not having any screen protector on even if i am planning to use my fingers without one?

Didn't you make a Catalyst iPhone case video that was sponsored, and that case you gave a perfect score to, and it was #1 on your iPhone case rankings, and a couple weeks later you changed your rating system and it was no longer #1. Here's the thing, I don't think you lied about your opinions in the video. I just can't believe you don't get a company like Ridge or a VPN or something to sponsor your videos. When the sponsor is not something you are reviewing and scoring in the video, what is the problem with it? Is there some explanation? I'm a big fan of your channel...i've been watching since trying to choose a case for my 6 Plus...i've seen every video since, so I'm a pretty loyal fan. I was just wondering why you are so against a video sponsor where the sponsor is not a product you are actually reviewing.

I have the ESR rebound pencil case for my Air 4 and it's pretty nice. The best alternatives to Apple ones with lower prices.

This is the first time I've seen a RUclipsr not recommend the Paper-like screen protector. Literally every other IPad RUclipsr I've watched uses and recommends it, even artists.
Because Paper-like sponsors a lot. A LOT! It's a few cents worth screen protector and all the surplus money it costs goes to the marketing. Since this channel isn't obviously about art, they don't really understand what's the deal around matte screen protectors. But you will get the same effect from any other screen protector foil (I wouldn't recommend glass if you want to use pen on it).
To put it in the perspective, my 3 pack of matte screen protectors cost 8 dollars and I still use the first one as an artist for 3 years now. With Paperlike, you pay 40!!! dollars and you get 2 of the same quality, but better marketing. It's just wasted money.
Try the esr glass for ipad, they provide a frame too, using one on my ipad mini from the last year, and it’s holding up well
I have been looking at getting some ESR products. That's helpful to see that it seems to be holding up 😅😁
