I bought this knife for the steel's corrosion resistance, as I'll be using it as my primary fishing knife, the lanyard....mehh. I have a few Benchmade's and love the brand. The one gripe I do have with this line, is the excessively large packaging that comes with these knives. I also thought the "Omega Springs" would have been upgraded to the new style, but oh well, production costs I guess. Overall I like the full-size and the mini as they remind me of the Adamas line of knives.
It’s understandable about the omega spring not being the flat upgraded version for better durability, but I agree with the packaging aspect, regardless of the size I think the upgrade in presentation and packaging added considerably to the cost overall in the end to the price point. I think if they would have stuck with the original BM presentation size box other than what it comes in, that it probably would have been at least 10% cheaper than the price point for the line up of water inspired knives for 2024.!!!👌😝😜🤪💯💯💯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😱🤯😳
I'm looking forward to aftermarket scales, the grivory just feels cheap, especially on a $250 knife. I have a griptilian with aftermarket micarta scales and it makes the knife so m much better.
One thing for sure is that most all reputable and well-known knife companies, specially Benchmade doesn’t make knives with tips that are made for prying. Knives in general are tools made for cutting and not prying, because you risk breaking the tip, which is something that wouldn’t be covered under any warranty, especially so if you’re using it for something that it isn’t intended for.!!!👌💯💯😱🤯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
Steel that is inconsistently heat treated. Total crap shoot. You can buy a benchmade and have them break on you in days. Others may never break. Regardless there’s lots of dissimilar metals in these benchmades which makes their intervals more prone to corrosion.
Too expensive. Benchmade has gotten out of control with their pricing. I won’t support that. This is a nice piece but until Their prices become “reasonable” I’m not buying them. This is coming from someone who has Benchmade older models
You may be right. But a bigger reality is we are all reeling from $5-6 gasoline and $13 fast food combo meals as well. There was a time when just your grandparents would reminisce about what things used to cost compared to today. Now everyone old enough can look back just 5 years ago and question how much all prices have risen. It matters who you vote to run our economy! Just saying…
@@rangesbackstopsberms1638 Nope!! Benchmade are out of their mind period! Don't justify your purchase with such comparisons! Will not support Benchmade for many reasons.. Enjoy your knife!
Yeah benchmade is out of their minds recently. They think they are everything and more even though their patent has run out on the one thing they essentially base their entire brand identity around. There are so many other quality us made knives that offer more and are better value. When it comes to these water knives from benchmade, spyderco us made salt knives kick them to the curb. More variety, higher reliability, better value, greater corrosion resistance.
@@wildfree4203”Don’t justify your purchase with such comparisons!” Really? So, let’s hear your ‘many reasons’? Remember, I’m not selling the knife, just an honest review after purchasing at full price. Would love to hear why I’m apparently not allowed to justify my positions because they are not good enough…
I just got mine today and I love it.

Maybe… I thought the same thing about the Benchmade SOCP folder years ago, still waiting lol
Love the review pops 👏🏾 would love to see a review on the undercurrent as well!
Noted!
Do you think this would be a good knife to go scuba diving with?
Can’t say, I don’t SCUBA dive. Good luck in your research!
Spyderco PM2 Salt in Magnacut for me.
Superior knife.

These knives are moving fast . turning heads. I like them .🤔
What materials are the omega springs made of?

Have you seen the review where it rusts....no thanx Benchmade......spyderco is the only true waterproof knife!....
Their US made salt line kicks the benchmade water line out of the water.
And the Quiet Carry Ocean Environments knives…
Manix 2 salt is great and was tested better than this model
