The problem is WINTER. You cant wear shorts or dresses in winter. And wide leg pants are pretty difficult to wear if it snows as well. Which is why we are already seeing cropped skinny jeans making a come back, and I bet we will definitely see skinny jeans and riding boot type stuff come back. Especially because its such a quiet luxury no brainer. ... Oh, and I think people gave up on parting their hair in the middle. Everyone tried it, everyone hated it, now everyone parts it where it naturally parts. For most people that would be on the side.

    Things that never look dated:
1.) your best lines and cuts
2.) colors that harmonize with your coloring
    3.) personal, unique style
    4.) sustainable fashion
Focusing on these will help with long-term wardrobe satisfaction.

100% agree! I would also add to go with things you LOVE. I will never love animal prints, never have, never will. Part of sustainability and avoiding fast fashion is to only buy something that you LOVE the moment you put it on. Also, never buy anything that will only look great with jeans... it has to work harder than that in your wardrobe.

We wore the original bell bottoms and halter tops ( gasp! Our grandmothers couldn’t handle seeing skin!) As for scarves, they help us cover our neck wrinkles… so we keep them handy. Your videos are sweet and refreshing, but we also learned along the way to hang onto our money. That’s why we’re so outdated, we’re very smart! The sundress is cute, but it’s “too young” for more mature ladies. Just NOT good on a 50 year old like me - and I have the figure for it (same with short shorts. I can wear them, and they look good, but at the same time they also look ridiculous). The wrap dress is so ICONIC because it literally flatters every body type - and every age range - it goes easily from day to night, does not need anything to stay warm and just looks good. The DVF will never be out of style, ever. Sorry, strongly disagree on this one. 😂

Totally agree Wrap dress remains a classic style. Parisian women wear them from daytime casual look to evening with a dressier vibe. I do enjoy watching Shea's videos but this kind of video is clearly more of an infomercial with her affiliate links. I don't blame her for this, as this is her stream of income - YT and affiliate links. It is what it is... and we all wear what we like.

There's probably already micro trends with the people you hang with that can make you look stylish.

I recently spent two days in Manhattan people watching, specifically looking at fashion, and saw ONE person with the sweater around the neck. Thousands of women, one person. I specifically stayed in Chelsea & Flatiron, more residential neighborhoods that are tourist-adjacent.
There is a difference as to why the sweater is tied where it is. Around the waist is getting it out if the way. Around the shoulders provides a layer of warmth that you don’t get around the waist. If I’m hot, that sweater will never be around my shoulders.
Fashion styles & styling is very regional, I’m finding more & more that what is being worn where I live is very under-represented on YT. We don’t dress like Florida & Texas influencers.

I mean the concept of having style isnt just following whats "trending" its about what you like, what you feel confident in, etc. If you wish to freshen up your style cause you want to try new things...go for it. But lets all remember its about your level of comfort and confidence in your clothing not keeping up with trends. Which frankly are just socieies way of keeping us constantly buying / overconsuming stuff.

@@pamelajaccard9059 I don't agree with the wrap dresses. I see women wearing them all the time. They never go out of style

    1) Thank you for making actually affordable alternative suggestions. I've really been considering the little bodice dress for a while and I think you've convinced me to pull the trigger. Thanks for providing legitimate links.
    2) Thank you for NOT judging! I just bought some slip-on sneakers literally this week because I'm a teacher and I'm on my feet all day. I don't dress to be stylish when I'm at work, I dress for comfort and survival, so thanks for acknowledging careers like that! I also look better with a middle-of-my-eye level side part, it's just how my hair falls naturally and if I force a middle part, I feel like a hippie or a disco-dancer, it's just not me. Thank you for acknowledging that not everything works for everyone and coming at this from more of a helpful suggestions angle rather than being judge-y . I really appreciate it!
Great high energy without being overwhelming. Just the right length and amount of content (not too much or overwhelming). :)

It's funny, I'm 4'11" and will never go back to skinny jeans. They just emphasize my already short legs in a way that I'm not into. Love flares and wide legs when the hem hits at the right place and paired with a top that balances it.

Shea.... girl you have me ROLLING 🤣 over here. I loveLoveLOVE these videos. I remember you outdating the crop shirt & jacket....I obviously disagreed with you then and yes I STILL love them. I'm just waiting for amen the Wide legged pant goes out for the trend followers...I will again express my 🫷🏾 "AINT" (nope)🫸🏾 to that too... wide legs are a staple of mine - a LIFER. I'm going to continue to wear my neverfull too. 😂

Skinny jeans with the RIGHT boots (simple, classic ones like riding boots) is not an outdated look at all. You need skinny jeans to go inside of boots.

Me and my side part can't wait for fall to wear my skinny jeans, tucked into boots, or shoes with my no show socks. Perhaps with my infinity scarf or duster cardigan. And I'm going to be so happy to do it

You and me both with the hair part! Mine is always just slightly off center too, mostly because a slight cowlick doesn’t let me part it perfectly in the middle

I have to completely disagree on the wrap dress, and the neverfull. It seems like a lot of the Gen Z trends are leaning to the 1980’s. And that is fabulous!!

Long cardigans and water flow cardigans never go out of style! I have enjoyed my high quality long cardigans for many decades now and only love them more with time. Let’s break out of sheepish compliance to trends and dress in whatever way that makes us feel wonderful.

The corset style dress was popular about 25+ years ago. The problem is, when it’s done it’s so obviously trendy there’s nothing you can do with it. The style isn’t flexible. (Anyway, I don’t like it in any case 😅)

All that criss-cross ribboning in the back is tacky, in my opinion. It's not classic at all.
