The idea is to keep your opponents as far back as possible and away from the kitchen line. If they are at the back they can't get a ball barwly put iver he net. This is a serve and they have to let the serve bounce befre returning tge ball.
I prefer short serves with a curve out. It rushes the other player and if they manage to hit it good odds it’s a poor hit popped up for easy pickings. Usually the point is my teams and they are moved back anyways.
@rampageidc 🧟♂️It's alive,it's alive 😈 I just picked this game up with some friends at work. After I own them for a few weeks I'll tell them 😂😂😂😂... maybe🧌
It's not that you can't, but bc of the 2 bounce rule in pickleball, it is a strategic advantage to hit deep on a serve since it HAS to bounce on at least each side once, it is basically to help keep them from returning it deep on you since you'll have to let it bounce, allowing them to get to the kitchen line while you're playing off of the baseline. But in some situations a short serve can work against players who start too far back and might not be able to reach it, for example.
Because it gives your opponents to set up and move forward to the kitchen line b4 u can get there. Remember, the key to winning is controlling the kitchen line.
