Love that you guys plant a tree for every one you cut down. Great way to keep your property thriving for many generations.

If you don't want your compost to stink don't put any meat or meat products in the compost. Believe me it works just as well..😊

You should have a beautiful garden. Remember to plant marigolds to keep the critters away. I put my plants in big pots on the porch and the garden. We only have rabbits and birds to contend with here. They can be such little bugars. I can hardly wait to see your awesome garden. 😊

Thanks for the tips! I will definitely be planting some marigolds to keep the critters away. Eventually, we want to have a garden that the critters can munch on but that won't happen for a bit.

If stoves have small orfices ,it is because it may use natural gas. Propane use needs bigger orfices.

The stove issue may not be a fuel issue but a air ratio mixture ? Most stoves have a butterfly looking valve you twist to adjust air ratio .You mentioned it was from a higher altitude so it needed more air ,im no repair man just a thought .

Huh! Yeah, that would make sense. We will have to see if we can find the butterfly looking valve. Thanks for the tip!

Very fun video! Your seedlings are awesome! My garden suggestion. Mulch as much as you can get your hands on. On the beds and paths both to keep stuff from drying out. 6 inches would be great. I was eyeing all those dried pine needles. That's fine as long as they don't have much aroma anymore. I love the aroma but it's an indication they are ok to use when it has faded. It's spikey but you clearly have an abundance available.

Just thought of something else. If it was me I would hold off planting the heat loving plants for awhile unless you have clochs or some way to cover them. Beans and squash especially. Now is a good time for the brassicas, carrots, potatoes and peas if you have them. For me I have better luck with bush peas and beans rather than the pole (vining type).

Me again. :) I would be hesitant about using hay or animal manure unless you know the hay has never been treated with herbicide type chemicals. Even the chemicals that are supposed to break down quickly have been found to persist under certain circumstances. If you want to test it in a sample mixed with dirt, if green beans curl and twist on the new growth but corn is fine, you can be pretty sure herbicide residue is the problem. Also, I bought two packs of bare root strawberries and they never sprouted but the ones I bought started in trays are doing great. It can be really difficult to know what is gardener error and what is something out of our control.

Thank you for all of the tips! We always love all of your gardening wisdom. It helps us out a lot! We have a TON of pine needles... I'd like to put them to good use so they aren't such a fire hazard.
That's good to know on the strawberries, I might have to go buy some that were started in trays, or get some seeds.

@@bigskyoffgrid thanks! I have another example of how gardening things can be confusing. I went back to see if Home Depot had any new strawberries in flats as I wanted to get an everbearing variety. They had some with big colorful signs that said everbearing attached to the flats. I'm thinking great! just what I wanted. But when I looked closer at the small labels attached by the original nursery, they were the same June bearing strawberries I had bought previously. The small label said June bearing, it's not like I had to look the variety up online or something. Just an example of how a gardener might think they had done something wrong when it was just a labeling issue. Great to see your enthusiasm, I'm sure you all will overcome whatever obstacles arise!
