The shadowless poles are, IIRC, in Hawaii. It's close enough to the equator that at noon the only shadows cast are direct underneath objects. The poles are straight and the same diameter all the way, so there is no underneath, unlike the car and AC unit. Edit: and he explained it immediately after. Oh well.
I believe the motorcycles driving under the river are because it's not a river, it's the roof of a building that's a lot closer to the camera than the ground is. At least, that's the only way I can make sense of it.

6:40 what looks like a nasty ass river running under a bridge on a cloudy day is actually the nasty ass floor on the roof of the building this was filmed from. the edge of the building ends up looking like the edge of the “bridge”. that’s actually a whole intersection down there. you can tell even more looking at the crosswalk. that pattern wouldn’t be there, and you can even see a partial bar visible behind the edge of the building.
Yeah, as someone from the suburban hell that is Michigan, I just looks like some lake effect clouds that got pushed farther inland due to wind. If you are in a state bordering the Great Lakes, this is very common
