Why didn't they extend the elevated highway over the last intersection and connect it directly to the bridge? Also one lane each way will eventually prove to be too narrow.
The Tampa Bay media market is the ELEVENTH LARGEST MARKET IN THE US! MIAMI IS #16. Other markets, significantly smaller than TB (such as...MIAMI) have 4,5, and 6 lane "freeways," most of ours are three lanes at best with just a smattering of four lanes and NO car pool lanes). Maybe I-4 would NOT be the most dangerous road in the country IF it had enough lanes to handle the traffic. A government official recently said, "Building more lanes is an exercise in futility because as soon as you build them people use them (?)." DUH! The answer's gotta be Public transportation, then, right? Right. HART loses, what, $60-million a year and has to be subsidized by state, county, and city governments. I followed a bus a few weeks ago through several stops at rush hour and nobody got on or off at any stop. It was probably empty. One of the big stumbling blocks to this area getting major corporations (AMAZON?) to move here is transportation. If you remove the 7 NE super-counties from the list, Pinellas County is the 7th most densly packed county in the country (twice as dense as LA) and it has one "freeway" (1 1/2 if you count US-19). And now, ladies and gentlemen, to really get traffic moving and solve all of our access-to-the-other-side problems, we get, TA DA, a 2-nile long ONE LANE ramp each way. Get stuck behind some 95 year old driving 25 in a 55, or someone who's obviously drunk, or a 200 lb guy on a Moped, or a breakdown, and you have someone passing in the pull-off lane or blocked completely. Absolutely insane. Does the Florida DOT get the coveted Chimp Golden Banana Award? They not only don't get it, I melted one down into a Fickle Finger of Fate Trophy especially for them because if they can stick it to us, THEY can stick it. Bend over...
a computerized train of self driving cars that will greatly increase efficiency of existing highway usage is on the near horizon. The answer is not to clog our landscapes with more highways in the next 5-8 years, as this technology is going to radically change the future directions of highway construction as it is implemented
Unfortunately, there was almost no room to build an expressway with four total lanes without taking property. I was a huge fan of the new public transportation ideas for Tampa until they shut it down...
Please tell me that the animation is incorrect and it's not going to be only one lane in each direction. That means traffic will only move as fast as the slowest driver, another Florida disaster.
What an awesome animation. Well done. Looking forward to it being finished.
Thank you!
It has now been finished for about 6 months now
@@w-josh no kidding. Thanks for the news flash
Beautiful elevated road!! Keep progressing!
Florida State Road 85 in Crestview needs this. BADLY!!
Great video, the construction technology is amazing
Sigh of relief they're keeping the Wendy's.
i thought this was a Cities Skylines mod or something... i was like, I NEED THIS MOD!
The project looks nice. What's the song in the video?

why only two lanes the Gateway Expressway is four lane elevated why can't this be the same
Well it's about time to ease the traffic congestion, this project costs about $200 million and will start to build on January 2018!
Which program do you use ?
3ds Max mainly
@@BluebisonmediaConnect else supporting program ?
@@BluebisonmediaConnect Autocad , 3dsmax & player
1:33 hmm.. gonna try building that in the ol' Cities Skylines and see how traffic flows!
Let me know how it goes lol
Love this.

Betcha traffic will still be a hot mess
it will be if they decide to leave it two lanes instead of four
@@phineas626 they looking like it’s almost done, maybe another year

1MRBASSMAN thats what I was looking at...i hope its not just one lane
It’s one lane.
This is what Clearwater should have done with US19
Is this thing really one lane in each direction? 😑😑😑, wtf?
yah this needs to be four lane, two each going each direction other wises whats the point of this practically
Another possible failed Expressway attempt I bet
Florida guinea pigs too expensive
