update: i just got my gallbladder removed and there was actually no polyp. it was distended and had some sludge and a cluster of teeny tiny gallstones. my surgeon said the thing they thought was a polyp was likely just a glob of sludge that kept growing.
I also no longer get pain when laying on my stomach now that my gallbladder is out! it was definitely my gallbladder causing that pain

I too had my gallbladder removed. I was healthy my entire life until I started birth control. That's when my GI symptoms started and I knew it was the BC but Dr's gaslit me the entire time saying it was my diet and prob other meds for 2 yrs!!! I wasn't on other meds and I eat very healthy and exercised. Got it removed and it made my GI symptoms got worse. I finally stopped the birth control and like 90% of GI symptoms away. I finally saw a naturopathic Dr and she said the hormones in BC can cause gallbladder disease. I read the leaflet from the bc packet and it states on it, it can cause gallbladder disease.

You say excessive burping ? Like how? Like every 15 minutes or so? Because I literally burp every 10-15 minutes and I feel like I don’t really get reflux (acid coming up) it’s just like I guess just gas. And sometimes it gets stuck in my esophagus and doesn’t come out . Like a weird sensation of it coming up and then stopping in the middle of my chest before going to my throat, if that makes sense. It’s scary. I had this for like 8 months now.
Since you said you had excessive burping may be it’s the cause of my gallbladder or something . Idk ❤ hope you feel better

You could be gulping air causing it to go in your stomach and then making you burp, sometimes feeling like it gets stuck. I’ve been to see doctors at Mayo for my stomach issues and during my visit he noticed I was gulping air and I didn’t even realize it. I also have functional dyspepsia, GERD, and ineffective esophageal motility, all found out from my visit to Mayo. And I just had another upper endoscopy that shows I have Barrett’s esophagus that needs to be evaluated every 3 years or so and possibly eosinophilic esophagitis.

Definitely get your gallbladder checked with the Hida scan. I’ve been dealing with that exact symptom you described for about three years along with a bunch of other digestive issues. Scan showed my gallbladder is functioning at 27%. Everything makes sense now.
