    You are an awesome Doctor / Pharmacologist. You seem to know each medication as if the info was all listed on the back of your hand. True info** on the drugs side affects, strengths, weaknesses, contraindications, etc. I really do appreciate your research behind the manufacturing and studies with each drug regarding FDA approval and independent studies. I trust your opinion and highly recommend others to watch your videos when they have questions about any drug. Thanks Doc!

    I was put on topamax 5 years ago for migraines, the dosage was gradually increased to 100 mg. twice a day, when I started I weighed 220 pounds at 5'4 now I weigh 118 pounds and I have to work hard to try and keep that weight on me. Last year I was diagnosed with a stomach disorder which makes eating worse and the topamax makes most foods taste terrible, especially drinks that contain caffeine. I asked my doctor if I could just go off the topamax and he said if I did, I would have to be put on one of the older drugs and their side effects were much worse.

      Hey I’ve been on seroquel for a couple years now, I’m on 300mgs atm but I sometimes take 200mgs and a half tablet to regulate the dosages, because when you become immune to seroquel o think it stops working. My Doctor put me on topamax recently makes my anxiety worse. Hope you find peace of mind soon.

      @@zninz5368 I'm taking 600 mg of Seroquel. Ughh. I would literally drool at the beginning of this dose. But it's been 8 years, and it definitely still works. Also, you should not be physically cutting (I'm not sure if this is what you mean?) Your Seroquel if it's the XR type. It messes up the extended release aspect.

      I was given this for anxiety and depression and have really really bad side effects. I think the doctor was more concerned about my losing weight then my mental stability. Yah lost lots of weight 40 pounds in 2.5 mouths but it was cause I couldn't eat anything cause I was never hungry felt kinda buzzes all the time to be honest and ended up after about 3 mouths starting to hear things that weren't there and being REALLY paranoid. Ended up in the hospital and had to be taken off it cause it was driving me crazy and I was terrified. But thats only experience and I was told it was an uncommon reaction.

    I am having word fluency issues on topiramate. Verbal IQ was 118 on Weschler Scale in High School, I have two college degrees, and I am struggling with words. : ( Also math is a little weaker and concentration. I lowered my dose myself for two months now, and I see only a slight improvement. As ive been on the drug for years, its going to take a long time to get my brain back.

    I am on wellbutrin and lexapro for bipolar 2. Can I take topomax with wellbutrin

    • @steshagorbunova
      @steshagorbunova Год назад +1

      Wellbutrin itself with diet is the only antidepressant that works on dopamine same as topamax
      Other antidepressants work on ssri aka serotonin ... And weight gain is noted
      If you're on Wellbutrin and have seizures your Dr is an idiot .
      I'm a biologist neurologist and studying psychiatry at the moment
      If it's purely for weight loss keep Wellbutrin try XL ... Start with 150mg then might be increased to 300mg.
      My medical advice don't take both together even though doctor's do prescribe both ( $ pays so does insurances )

    • @steshagorbunova
      @steshagorbunova Год назад

      Lexapro is an antidepressant as is ... Ssri does cause mild weight gain .
      And Lexapro shouldn't be used to treat bipolar 2.
      Yet topamax itself would help with weight loss and bipolar 2 ....
      It reduces overwiring the brain to prevent manic episodes....
