Whats so great about this RV is so many people are looking at Tiny Home Tours but Tiny Houses are so expensive where you can get this beautiful Trailer for 70k! Wow, this has to be one of the biggest campers I've seen in a long time. Definitely what I'd call a "Park" Model, and it'd be a lot easier to live full time in it. I'd probably have to have it professionally moved by a trucking company. With that long length, high dry weight and high tongue weight, I hope only serious camper haulers try to move it, with a serious dually pickup. I've been pulling towables for 20+ years and I'd find this a challenge to move. I can't believe it's only on two axles. I'd have expected three axles. I'm always fascinated by two story trailers, since there so few of them.
Too many things I love about this camper, but here're the top ones: big open floor plan in living room (which includes the tall ceiling, ceiling fan, kitchen, etc.). I'll combo the giant bathroom, and the nice bedroom layout. I love the 2nd floor, something just about impossible to pull off. That price is not high compared to say an entry level class A or C motor home. Don't like a few things, such as no convention oven, not sure how the roof AC in the 2nd floor bunk, can get cool air down to the master bedroom, and the carpet in a slide out, and/or carpet in the dining area. These are the areas folks spill food and I want an easy wipe up in those areas.
I did a quick check another website, and the cargo weight is sadly, only 1136 pounds. That's why I remarked it only had two axles. Three axles should bring that cargo weight up. When parked, you'd have to be very careful what you put inside it. Image having 4 full size adults, at 200 lbs each, that's 800 lbs, then throw in a few kids and you're near the maximum already. So there'd be nothing left over for all the other things that folks need. That cargo weight would turn me off completely of this model. I'd want it to have no holding tanks then. I'd do everything I could to increase the cargo weight.
I would also spend the extra $ and get roof ACs that can give me more than 15K BTUs. This camper has a lot of living space, and if you're in the south and you're in the direct sun, and it's summer, two 15K BTU unit's might not cut it. If this was on a semi-permanent camp site, with full service, I'd look at a heat pump. Definitely worth having a docking station with full roof over, to keep this camper cool.
Thank you for the review! We need to see all kinds of campers, so folks can see what's out there.

I also like the placement of the fridge. It gives you more counter space that way. I also like where they placed the pantry. It kind of separates the living room from the kitchen. And I prefer the double sink. I think you should pass along the fridge and pantry placements to Alliance for their 5th wheels. For those who aren't six feet tall, the bathroom is a good height. The area above the bathroom is great if you have pets that may not get along and want to give them their own spaces.

The 3 things I like about this destination trailer:
    1. the loft that's over the bedroom
    2. living room: spacious, high ceiling, ceiling fan, lots of big windows, three seat sofa with side tables on either side, theater seats with middle console that has side-by-side cup holders
    3. the kitchen and combo with the amount of storage
The 3 things I don't like about this destination trailer:
    1. carpet under the dinette and in the bedroom
    2. ceiling height in the bathroom and combo that with the small loft above the bathroom: get rid of the loft and raise the ceiling in the bathroom
    3. the door for the closet or a washer and dryer appears to only be able to open about halfway before it hits the bed

    • @marlycehindman6221
      @marlycehindman6221 3 года назад

@@brianrobertson8808 removing the door doesn't fix the issue. Can't get the unit in once the bed is installed, getting clothes in and out of the unit will be a pain, and any repairs or replacement would also be difficult. The pantry space would serve as a better placement for the unit. You could actually put an all-in-one unit there and still have some pantry area above it if you wanted to.

Great video as always! Since this is meant to be almost like a second home I'm looking at it a bit differently than I would a normal towable.
With that in mind, I feel like there are a few missed opportunities here... like I think it really needs a second washroom if it's going to support sleeping that many people, even a half small half bath would be a massive upgrade.
Second thing is more storage - the kitchen storage is fantastic, but if I'm using it as a lakehouse or something similar, I think it needs a bit more so I can pack less and just hop in the car and go knowing that I've got most of what I need there already. I'm thinking a row of cabinets over that back couch instead of that second window, or something similar would do the trick here.
Finally... since its a park it and leave it type thing, presumably on a prepared site of some sort - I'm thinking a patio would be a nice addition. Yeah, you could build your own patio off of it, but an option for a large deck fold-down deck that services both the sliding glass and bedroom doors would be a nice addition... you could even bill it as an added security feature - fold this up when you leave, throw a padlock on it, and no one can access the doors.

    Three things I like:
It comes prepped for stackable washer/dryer
    The Kitchen
How open the space is in this beauty
    Three things I dislike:
    I don't like carpets

Limited space for storage underneath the trailer
    Keep up the good work!!

This was a nicely decorated Destination Trailer from Forest River
    Dislikes:
    1) the loft over the bathroom is too short and open to the trailer, I would get rid of it. Maybe raise the height of the shower side of bathroom and have storage cabinets facing the stair side above the toilet area
    2) it is good to have the closet prepped for stackable washer dryer but the door doesn't open all the way
    3) Not a fan of having carpet in any RV or Trailer, I can always buy runners or rugs if I need to in different areas
    4) even though this is a destination trailer, would be nice to have an outdoor shower or at least a water hook-up point near the entrance to hose off if needed
    Love:
    1) The layout in the kitchen area flowed well and everything seems easy to reach
    2) The bedroom seems mostly open with plenty of storage and a good spot to place a TV if you want
    3) Central Vacuum is easy to access, yet out of the way too

First of all love you both. Keep up the great work you are doing. Secondly are the floor vents for the heater. No trailer should have them. They stub toes, catch crumbs, pet hair. They get scratched and ugly over time and hold bacteria until professionally cleaned. Not only that but they place them directly in front of the fold out couch,. Thus on a cold night with the heater running the heat goes directly into the bed burning the occupants. Third ,, the carpet has to go.. You are so right about the room above the bath. Thanks So Much!

I like the kitchen, BIG windows, and the 2nd floor. I don't like the carpet, the loft above the bathroom, and the bathroom height. Forest river, you should add a solar panel for backup in power outages.

Hi Matt and Andrea! Great review! Well one of my dislikes is the positioning of the refrigerator you can’t get the left side door open very far, no good. Next I don’t like the smaller loft above the bathroom. Half of that could’ve been left open just for storage and then the other half open so that the the shower could be higher. Third dislike there is no art deco! Now the likes the size of the furniture is big and comfortable. The height of the ceiling and the ceiling fans is great. And last like the front bedroom is really nice. Thanks again you two!

    Likes:
    Kitchen and fridge size
Nice living room with ceiling fan
    Large windows
    Dislikes:
All this carpet - would be a dealbreaker if I was looking for such a type of unit
Bedroom looks cramped, hard to open the door to the washer/dryer closet
Small loft is nearly not usable - a higher ceiling with vent in the bathroom would have been bettter

As always, this is a great video. As for dislikes/likes:
    Dislikes:
    1) Not a fan of lofts. I'm sure that they're great for those with kids, but I would just use them for storage, so that AC wouldn't be really useful.
    2) All the windows in the bedroom. I like the light, but i prefer my privacy.
    3) I guess the carpeting. It helps with keeping the place a little warmer in the winter, but it is harder to keep clean.
    Likes:
1)All the windows in the living area! Makes it very welcoming and open-feeling!
    2) The kitchen is great! I'm a cook, so I like the counter space and the range works so well.
    3) The stackable washer/dryer prep. I like that it's prepped without making you pay for it up front.
Like I said, a great video as you always make. Glad that y'all are now able to go all over the place to look at rigs wherever they might be.

I would just use that smaller sleep area for storage. The herring bone floor pattern rocks. Just wish they would have continued it throughout the whole trailer instead of incorporating the hideous carpet. You could use it like a travel trailer but you would have to put padded covering over the front for hauling, and you would definitely only wanna travel with it if you were gonna be setting up shop somewhere for 2 or 3 months or longer. Personally, I would use it as a stationary live in since I'm a single dude. I love that you can get these things for 40 or 50 thousand dollars after MSRP. That is cheap for something that nice. I would definitely customize one with better windows and not those cheap RV windows as well as better quality exterior doors. And no carpeting.

The light fixture above the table looks really odd, and I don't like the texture of the dining table. Do not like the unusual looking sculpted "art" at the ends of the beam on the ceiling. They look like upside down plastic magazine/file holders. Also don't like the open space below the bathroom vanity. With only one bathroom, a cabinet with doors is needed to hide cleaning supplies, hairdryer, and other bathroom stuff.

Thank you for another great review! Matt and Andrea showing us the good and bad. The back half or from the kitchen to the lining room was great. Something has to be reworked with the sleeping area. I understand trying to provide as much sleeping space in a destination trailer, buuuutttt... Pretty neat for what it is, but I don't think I'd consider it even for the non- paying inhabitants! Have a great evening.

Is the plug for power on the the same side as the sliding glass doors? It would make more sense to have it on the other side so you could put the sliding glass doors facing away from your power source.

"What Say You"?? Do I detect a slight reference to LOTR?? I would rather have a cabin style or stick and bricks look destination trailer/park model.. perhaps you and Andrea could do a tour of one of those types as well??? Maybe not?? Have a blessed day!!!

Love the big LR and K. So much storage and space. You won’t feel closed in with this rig.
Love the slider and the windows everywhere
Love the upstairs lofts for the 10 grand kids. They will have so much fun. Sleeper overs at Nannie’s house!!
The lights under the cabinets are great particularly if you have to get up during night.
    Questionable
Wish it had a second bathroom or at least a half bath.
I might have missed it but was there a second air conditioner in the bedroom and what about the heat up in the loft?
The bathroom needs to have a done or higher ceiling in the shower area. It is roomy for someone under 6’. Not sure that the ceiling in there would last long with steam and damp.

I don't typically watch the towables, more interested in class C & B+ models. But the 2 story on this intrigued me. It's beautiful! Especially the living room.
Just out of curiosity, . could you have one of these delivered or put in a mobile home park?
    - on the carpet. Tile or wood look floors are the way to go.

likes 1-windows everywhere 2-bathroom 3-sliding glass door. dislikes 1-the door to the laundry area hits the bed so doesnt open properly. 2-the shorter loft bed area. makes no sense. 3-carpet.

Dislikes: opposite of your like, I don’t like the refrigerator placement because the left door is restricted from opening wide. Agree the lofts are too low. I think it would feel, like you are in an MRI. the loft that has the open rails I would think might be dangerous for little kids to get their heads stuck in between the rails. If the lofts were for storage then that space is huge for that.
Likes: love the open spaces, the large windows, the sliding glass door. Love the bedroom windows, counter and storage.

I do not understand these even for kids claustrophobic bunks. Why do they not put some kind of vertical slideout there, even if this was manual put up for a destination trailer, then you really could use the so called 2nd floor. And the door to the washer/dryer is a bad solution, do you have to unscrew it to install them?

  • @scottyh69

For the price point of this destination rig, it's hard to be mad at anything. Great price for people who want a 2nd home. Two reasons I would hesitate on purchasing this RV: the loft above the kitchen, and the bathroom. Loft space would end up being storage space. This RV is meant for multiple people to enjoy and the bathroom would not work for a family or guests. It needs a 1/2 bath. Minor considerations:
*Windows do not have daytime shades. C'mon Forest River, really? Installing after-market shades would be costly and could possibly damage the windows. Surprised Matt or Andrea didn't mention.
*Location of stackable w/d is awkward and not easily accessible because of the bed. Will make doing laundry more of a hassle.
*Carpet in the bedroom? Why?? That would be the first thing an owner would have to replace especially if the outside door is going to be used consistently.
So, even though the price is great, a purchaser will have to spend some money to correct a few things Forest River should have included or re-thought.

The carpet needs to go. In the tight spots it would be hard to clean and in the larger areas it looks tacky. I would normally agree about the second loft but since this is made for permanent living I would use it instead of a storage shed. I really like this unit.

  • @michelebrassell4487

This is so huge. Can't imagine towing this to a "destination". Scary!
Dislikes: 1. Carpet!! Not a fan. I can understand the carpet on the stairs and in the loft, but not in the bedroom (or the slides). Major fail for me. 2. Head space in the lofts. I am okay with the cage area if it is for little kids, but any one over 3rd grade would be really uncomfortable up there. I see it being used for storage. Also, there was so much head space in the bedroom they could have dropped the ceiling some to allow people to sit up on the beds. 3. While I love that it is prepped for a washer dryer, the space for it looks cramped. You couldn't even open the door to that area without hitting the bed (imagine installing the washer and dryer, what a headache!).
Likes: 1. Living area is large enough for the whole family to sit and move around. 2. Overall kitchen design and storage in the kitchen. 3.Dining table instead of dinette (I do wish it had an extension on it-all those beds and only places for 4 to eat). 4. Bedroom has plenty of storage and has a real mattress of high quality.
