I like that when you read model numbers you say each digit separately and not “three hundred and ten” or whatever. It makes it much easier to understand, especially for non native English speakers.
I got this recently and it is a serious watch. A Solid beast and weighty, top notch quality! I have a slim wrist (6.5") and its very comfortable to wear.
That's great to hear! I have a similarly sized wrist and wear the relatively large Hamilton Murph comfortably, which goes against what everyone else says.
My wrist is more oval than round, but it fits my 6.25" wrist fine, both visually and comfortably. Though I'm not sure it would work on a wrist any smaller than that. The downward taper of the lugs helps, as well as how the bracelet doesn't extend past that.
My Air Zermatt Limited edition sits nicely on my 6 .5 inch wrist. Its only 44mm across! And it is very comfortable to wear . It has presence! Love my 46mm Hamilton khaki pilot too!
Nice watch! I've got two modern Swiss made Hamilton Automatics and a gold Hamilton pocket watch that was my Great Grandfather's retirement gift when he left his position at the John Deere Plow Company in the 1920s, made in Lancaster, PA. I'm a fan of the brand, for sure. I just wish it was a little smaller.
Got a X Wind automatic chronograph, very robust and the most accurate auto I've ever owned ( & I've had a fair few since the late 1980s) Love Hamilton, excellent quality and value 👍🏻👍🏻 Edit - 7.25" wrist, wear it on a nato. Good fit but wouldnt want bigger.
The only thing stopping me is the almost 2 grand of disposable moolah. Lovely looking watch. Only thing I don't like is the screw down crown since they can break and not needed on a flight chrono it's not a dive watch. Can wear a gshock in the pool.
I don't exactly know my wrist size but I would say I have roughly medium sized wrists and a Citizen Avion fits perfectly. But I love pilot watches, the look, the feel, the heft and status they bring as an engineer
I have owned this watch for around a month. It is one of my favorites in my collection, though it is priced far below the average. It just exudes quality. It is about 5 seconds fast per day. The chrono buttons are crisp, though I don't think that it features a column wheel. I don't know why it does not get more attention from reviewers. It is hefty, but that does not bother me. EDIT - the watch has to be returned for a warranty repair. The chronograph does not restart reliably. And when the chronograph fails to restart, the watch stops entirely. So I doubt that I will purchase an additional Hamilton in the future. I would rather pay a higher price and save myself time and aggravation.
I just bought the plain old three-hander watch in this line (in a PVD black), which is available in 42mm, so it's wearable for me. It's pretty nice, but my old man eyes have a hard time reading the numbers on the bezel.
Hey, I am looking at the same watch either PVD or SS but with some concernes about PVD. How is it holding up on your end? Think the PVD will hold up without excessive wear or damage with normal use?
@@Valks-22 I haven't had the watch for that long; only since around December, but so far there is not a mark on it. I feel pretty confident that the coating will hold up with normal use. I think Hamilton is a brand I would trust to get something like this right.
While I really like the idea of this sort of watch (and this one looks exceptionally well built), I've always found them a bit too cluttered. Especially now that I'm needing reading glasses and wouldn't be able to use any of the extra-functions anyway... :D Still: For the money, this looks like a pretty sweet deal. I love the little details like the small applied Hamilton H at the 3oc.
The Hamilton specs say it’s 44mm. The thickness at 15mm is fine considering it’s a chronograph. Although, I wish they had made this in a 42mm case. The 3 Hand Converter Auto is 42mm, but the Converter GMT like the chrono is 44mm. I’m not sure why Hamilton opted for the wider case. It’s certainly something I may have considered at 42mm.
I think that Hamilton dropped the ball with this one. It is just too damn big. Nevertheless, a wonderful watch with an awesome movement inside...just maybe a bit pricier than I expected, because the similar X-Wind Auto Chrono with same movement could be had for some 500$ less.
For anyone concerned with size, get into g shocks, come back,, and you'll learn to forget about dimensions.

I already have the xwind and I'm very tempted to get this aswell. Stunning 😍

@@JPG1600 Absolutely! Murph owner here too, and I just don’t get the concerns about the lug-to-lug. It disappears on the wrist, as all my Hammies do.

Great review, finally a real competitor to the Navitimer. Subscribed !
Seriously fine looking watch. Love the aviator style, busy and sophisticated and cool. Tempting.
Close up that’s one of the nicest I can remember!

X Wind Auto Chrono is a classic. It's the watch that started it all for me. I'm never getting rid of that one :)

Nice watch, similar than breitling navitimer. Can be cheaper alternative for breitling.
I’ve been eyeing this watch for a couple months now...good to see an in person. I think it’s gonna be too long for my wrist now

Big and beautiful, just as I like them 🤗
Lol heck yeah

Looks amazing! Yuuuge too!
Yeah, that’s pretty badass.
Thanks for the review. I have been wanting this watch since I first saw it. However, I want the one with brown straps.
Very cool. Very big. I'll have to stick with my Citizen Blue Angels, plenty big for me.
I put mine on a $20 tan leather nato and it looks like a million bucks⌚

Hey mate where did you get your desk clock black flieger? Looks awesome
54 lug to lug is a shame.

@@quarrel79 thanks for the feedback, I'm sold on the watch it is only the pvd/ss decison left.
Enjoy it, it is an amazing piece.

Isn’t the non GMT version in 42 mm?
What is the precision of the movement in the timegrapher?

Beautiful just huge
I saw a Seiko, a few weeks ago, that looks almost identical, at a much lower price, but that is Hamilton!
The mighty Flighty aka Seiko Flightmaster aka SNA411
Wow 😲amazing review
My wrist is 17. Do you think it could work for me?
Dodged a bullet - if it had been 43mm with some colour ways available, I'd have been out two grand!
They need to launch more colour. This model is just a poor man version of navitimer
Lovely 😊
Hi
Is the bezel aluminum??thanks Rob
I really like the design and features, but it is too big for my 6.8-inch wrist. These are meant to be big, I think it was designed for pilots.
What’s the weight on it?
Wow....
Seiko Flighty? Looks more like a Navitimer
Darn it. Wish I had a larger wrist
It's a beautiful watch however you could simply buy the Khaki Aviation X-Wind Chrono Quartz which would be more accurate for a lot less money.
If you’re not a pilot and won’t use all that business on the bezel it’s too cluttered IMO. Same with all aviator coronagraphs.
Beautiful but too large for me
I think you need 8 inches to wear this
That's what she said!
8 inches of what?
Good looking watch too bad it's huge
Cest juste des emboiteur de mouvement e.t.a je les acheté je suis déçu
Too. Big.
For the same price maybe a bit more you can get a good used navitimer which is miles better than this
Get a Patek cheapskate.
