- Have you ever thought about ordering live crickets in the mail? www.TheCritterDepot.com ships hundreds of thousands of crickets every week. And here's what each and every customer should do after they receive their anticipated cricket package.
A plastic storage tote also works great, probably way easier trying to empty them into.
Just wanted to say that I just received my crickets all came live! Very happy with the purchase thank you ☺️
Thanks for your fantastic customer service! Will definitely purchase our crickets from you again.
Thanks for the opportunity to work for you, Dee. Let us know if there's anything else we can do for you.
Best cricket dealer I've done business with!!!
Thanks for the info! We'd had a hard time keeping our crickets alive (Petco wasn't very helpful with information on how to keep them). Next time, we're ordering from you! I love the idea of using a 5 gallon bucket. That's so helpful. Thanks again!
love critter depot been ordering from them for a few years one thing i would say tho if your storing them in the house i use vermiculite and crushed lump charcoal about a 1inch floor to take away any smell from my setup also totes are way better then buckets
I really like the service you guys provide you'r affordable and your shipments are on time,My dragon is happy
We appreciate the opportunity to work for you, Mary. Let us know if there's anything else we can do for you.
Glad I watched this video on cricket care and unpacking! Looking forward to receiving my first order...
Very helpful video. The 1st time we did lose about a dozen crickets and wasn’t able to caught even one! (not use about the Rounding up Refugee comment you made)
This time I’m going to try something a little different and if it works I’ll be sure to let you know.
So many escapees! My dogs would love that.
Good video, thank you
Excellent video
Excellent thanks. I can't keep my crickets alive so I think I will try ordering from you and maybe eventually be brave enough to breed some myself as shown in your other videos. Do you have a success rate shipping to California? I also saw one of your videos where you put Vermiculite in the bottom. That looks like a good idea as well.
Awesome info and vid
I ordered some crickets and there was some type of sandbag with them and most of the crickets would stay on it. Any idea if this was a type of heat source or food or them?
Hi Haley - you got it. That sand bag is a heat pack. It tries to provide some warmth for the crickets while they're in transit, which is likely why they were congregating around it.
What size where the crickets in this video
What size are the crickets pictured here?
Where do you buy your boxes?
I have Poison dart frogs What size of cricket do you recommend
Hello - the rule of thumb is that the feeder insect should be equal to the distance between your pets eyes. Here is an image that refers to what we mean: www.thecritterdepot.com/products/bulk-crickets-for-sale#which-cricket-size-to-buy?
I have a dumb question. I have a bearded dragon in a 75 gallon tank, it has no lid. I’m terrified of crickets. Will the crickets be able to escape the tank?
Great question. The bucket we use in the video is about 18" tall, and the crickets can't jump out of that. Crickets are great horizontal jumpers, but not very good vertical jumpers. But something else to note is that crickets shouldn't be stored in the same habitat as your bearded dragon. Crickets eat anything, and if given the chance, the crickets will start to nibble on your bearded dragon. Only provide the bearded dragon enough crickets that he/she can finish in a single sitting, and keep your crickets in a separate container.
The Critter Depot I haven’t gotten crickets yet, I literally just got the beardie and he’s shown no interest in eating anything. Are those cricket keeper sets found in local pet stores good? I’d like to not touch the crickets at all. 😫😅 thank you for your prompt reply by the way!
@@mrsdiaz614 A lot of our customers use the cricket keepers. They're fine at holding crickets. One option you can dry is freeze-dried insects. They're not alive, so might be easier for you to handle. But I've heard mixed results; not all reptiles want to eat them. Here's a link: amzn.to/2pNw8xp
The Critter Depot thank you! You are amazing.
I was about to ask if Vaseline around the rim would work to keep them down but I don’t want to be feeding Vaseline to my birds
Thanks again Ricky 🕺💃🐈⬛🎵🎸🪳🦗🐊😳🍉
they don't chirp right out the box? do these chirp or only certain ones chirp?
Only full adult crickets give chirping satisfaction.
No comments well this is your first comment yay you also get another subscriber and a like
I’ll never get to the level of using my hand to touch them😅
how do i get them out of a bag from petco because i’m scared they’re all gonna jump everywhere
I just twist the top and then put it under whatever your putting them in and just shake then ou
They sent me dead small pinhead crickets two days ago 😩 my baby beardies did not get what they deserved
We're sorry to hear this, Josiez. Shipping crickets in the winter is every cricket vendor's biggest challenge. And we can only offer a conditional live delivery guarantee. Superworms, roaches, and black soldier fly larvae handle cold transits much better than crickets. If you decide to order from us again, we recommend trying one of those feeders when the months are colder.
This packaging is horrible. Theres no way you can unbox them without any escaping. They should be in a cloth bag or something.
Storage tote, you can open the box right in the tote.
This is the most ridiculous way of shipping and/or unboxing I've seen so far. Why would you put them in a box and not a container/ mesh bag that can be easily transferred to a cricket keeper? And, for what its worth, if "how do you unbox your crickets?" is such a common question, why don't you have this clearly marked out on your web page? I just got my first order from you guys. I bought 1000 superworms, 500 mealworms and 250 crickets. Luckily I started with the superworms unboxing and came to the crickets last. While I thought that the way you ship the superworms was clever, the first thing I thought was "geez, I hope this isn't the way the crickets are boxed up". I don't have a 5 gallon bucket on hand or any large bucket that isn't contaminated with some kind of cleaner. I would have acquired one had I known I'd need one upon the crickets arrival. How am I supposed to get all the crickets into the cricket keeper without having MANY of them escape? This guy in the video must have done this several times and STILL he has ones he must chase down. Rainbow Mealworms has it all over you guys. :(
We're sorry you're not satisfied, Angeline. But you must have seen this video on our product page before placing your order, correct? Here's the link to refresh your memory: www.thecritterdepot.com/products/bulk-crickets-for-sale#Video-Tutorial---How-To-Unpack-Live-Crickets
@@TheCritterDepot No, I did not
I only found this video when I went to look for a way to unbox the ones I ordered and received this morning
@@angelineouellette3239 Well, we thought the top of the product page was a perfect place for the video. Where would be a better place for it?
Silly me, I looked in the SHIPPING faq's.... obviously thats my fault. I thought that things about the crickets being shipped would be in a heading titled "Shiping."
@@angelineouellette3239 Thanks for the feedback, Angeline. We'll add the video to the shipping FAQ's too. If you decide to order from us again, we recommend you scroll down the product page. There's a lot of information on cricket care that can help you in the future.
