    Russian spec ops guys don't like this gun because of it's unreliability, and as they say, they better even take an old Makarov or Stechkin in spite of it's weaker ammo

    • @RuBearUSA
      @RuBearUSA 8 лет назад +4

      Fnd the mags from one Grach dont work on the other one?

    • @kobeh6185
      @kobeh6185 8 лет назад +52

      They actually prefer the GsH-18
      It is more simple and more reliable and has the same Mag Cap, AP bullet capability, and a lighter profile

    • @Lurkerkun
      @Lurkerkun 8 лет назад +20

      Non-spec ops guys don't like it either. It's cumbersome in its holster in comparison with Makarov, the mags are bitch to load, it is indeed quite unreliable (again in comparison with PM) and all the pointy and sharp features on the pistol's body do not make it handier.

    • @Lurkerkun
      @Lurkerkun 8 лет назад +5

      I'd say that the most effective of contemporary Russian handguns is SPS (SR-1), its only downside is the cost of ammo - that's what hinders the spread of its use in the Russian Armed Forces.

      the first models of MP-443 grach is actually really prone to jamming that's why many Russian special forces guys prefer APS Stechkin over the MP-443 but the gun was modified until now that it is much more reliable than the earlier models.

  • @BigSmartArmed

    Another ignorance rave.
    Somehow Yarigin managed to design a vastly improved barrel tilt cam action. Up to date the smoothest cam was CZ type but it requires large travel space and the loop is the weak point of the design. Yarigin managed to completely unload cam stresses from the action which gives it great strength and smooth operation. The cut is a straight slit at a 45 degree angle. It does add to the high of the barrel mount, but eliminates travel gap.
    The problem is with complicated barrel geometry which requires multiple steps to cut properly. Initial production runs could not produce stable tolerances levels from one batch to another which forced poor fitting to slides. Secondary issue was similar manufacturing issue with dual position mag. Exact same issues were encountered with Gsh-18 mag which is also a dual position configuration. Both mags are hard to load towards the full capacity, but are inherently more reliable in feeding vs dual to single stack conversion.
    Gsh-18 has the strongest rotating barrel design, Yarigin the strongest tilt barrel, while StrikeOne is a total gimmick.

      hey mate I know it's been a while but could I get any info on where you sourced this? Nigel Tegg
      Your Viking should be all good as long as you don't shoot high pressure +p+ through it, it's a factory limitation for a civilian market pistol.
      Only initial limited production runs had tolerances issues since manufacturing was not set up.
      I sourced from Russian blogs, this is one of them;

      That's good to hear, I spoke to the company and found out mines a 2010 model. The other thing they mentioned that I will confirm with the designers next week is they reckon the locking parts are warranted to 2 tsnd rounds and the barrel is in excess of 10 tsnd.

    Могу сказать вам про этот пистолет, чего о нем мало говорят. По конструкции он неплохой. Я бы даже сказал хороший. Это что касается кинематики внутренних узлов.
    Но на него легли при создании две проблемы. Первая проблема в том, что его создавали люди, которые сами не стреляют.
    То есть как механизм который приспособлен для стрельбы этот пистолет не хуже других и даже получше некоторых.
    Но из-за того, что у нас оружие проектируют люди, которые сами не увлечены стрельбой. Не знают, как эта машинка живет в руках у стрелка, - это стало причиной откровенных ляпов по внешнему дизайну. Сейчас перечислять не буду. Там целый список. Кто в пистолетной стрельбе хотя бы пару лет прожил, чисто по внешнему виду навскидку вам скажет, где ошибки. То есть конструктора научили в соответствующем вузе, как сделать, чтобы из этого куска металла вылетали пули и гильзы. Но не объяснили, что этого знать недостаточно. Что этим изделием потом живые люди должны будут пользоваться. Которые видели что такое SigSauer, S&W, Colt. И они невольно сравнят ЭТО с иностранными образцами. И спросят. А что за дурень этот пистолет придумал?
    Вторая проблем, которая усугубила судьбу этого проекта - это состояние производственной базы на которой он производится. Металл используется некачественный. Что-то с термообработкой недодумали. Ось затворной задержки ломается, экстрактор выходит из строя.
    Сейчас только появилась возможность как-то доставать запчасти. Раньше было вообще проблема.
    То есть я считаю, что если провести внешний рестайлинг и производить его из качественных сплавов на точном оборудовании, то он подтянется к мировым образцам.
    Но это уже будет не совсем пистолет Ярыгина, а что-то другое.

      Действительно стрелки это пистолет не хвалят, а история с его принятием навооружение в полиции и вовсе смахивает на откровенное вредительство - его соперником был "Бердыш" Стечкина, но... :-/ Вот здесь более полная информация от специалиста: ruclips.net/video/hR2BarJRNzw/видео.html

      ГШ рассматривать не стоит, так как это фэйловый проект, своего рода попытка/вариация на тему, Грязев и Шипунов до этого занимались авиационными пушками и опыта создания ручного оружия у них небыло и они допустили множество серьёзных недочетов в конструкции, в частности выбрасывание гильзы вверх/в лицо стрелка, воздушное охлаждение ствола по принципу авиапушек (имеет отверстия с дульной части оружия, которые очень легко засоряются), магазин, который полностью вручную зарядить нельзя (необходимо зарядное устройство, иначе только 11-14 патронов войдут у сильного стрелка), общая эргономика весьма неудобна. Это как АН-94 Абакан: с интересными фичами, но в целом провал. Если сравнивать, то с "Бердышем" и Глоком 17/18 (его брали на вооружение наши спецслужбы), но тут я ниче сказать не могу, так как не имею опыта стрельбы из них у меня нет.

    The steel framed version (446?) is designed to fire special +P+ 9mm steel core, AP ammo. (Apparently)

    Hmmm. I thought it looked fairly Beretta-ish on the surface, even down to the triggerguard. Is the lockwork similar? Based on comments, sounds like the dual position feed is questionable. Does it result in a wider grip? Or is it all handled by the shape of the breechblock? The Beretta has a fairlyhigh feed position that goes almost straight in, and we all know it works great. No doubt the Russians didn't straight copy it due to national pride. I'm surprised no one has made a locked breech 9x18- or have they? It would seem a natural for it, since it is so close to 380 ballistically. Maybe they should just buy some CZ-83's.......

    It'd be really cool to have a well-made airsoft version of the MP-443 for a Russian loadout.

    Now it quite nice gun, cause it was modified many times. But at start it has so many disadvantages: unrepairable jams after 3rd shot, too uncomfortable grip, unqualitive mags, etc. So why most experienced russian operatives still not prefer him and use OC-27 "Berdish", PMM and regular "cops" using legendary legendary reliable PM. This was just my opinion. Vickers, i also want you to do review on OC-27 cause its really perfect weapon.
