- The Beretta 93R is a selective fire machine pistol, designed and manufactured for police and military use. It originated from the 92 Series semi-automatic Beretta. With a cyclic rate of fire just under 1100 rounds/minute, and 3 round burst functionality, Larry fires this one-of-a-kind weapon for the first time!

This is one of those weapons, like the SPAS-12, that will always be around due to the tacti-coolness of it. As Mr. Vickers said it has not been made for over twenty years but, like the SPAS, still makes appearances in movies and tv shows.
Vickers "there I was, no shit, helping Mack Bolan kill Soviet operatives with the Beretta 93R"

"Only single shot or 3 round burst. Here we go. Full Auto."
Hahahaha
The 93R was made in tandem to the 92 series pistols for some pretty specific legal purposes related to diplomatic security and the limitations put on diplomatic security personnel when traveling with dignitaries in legally restrictive environments because for a while, a 3 shot burst 93r could be listed on travel documents as "9mm pistol" and compliant with weapons rules which limited protective services personnel to non-military handgun type weapons.

Guns like this should be readily available. God I hate the NFA.
+luvfreedom You and me both.
+luvfreedom its not the NFA keeping us from having this its the machinegun ban of 1986
President Ronald Reagan signed a contract saying that there should be no more full auto weapons in May 7,1986 but you can have a full auto weapon if it's made before May 7, 1986 you have to get like a background check by the government and sign 4 papers you need to $200 and send them your gun you want to convert and then they will send it back, I saw this in a video I think it was called "Machine guns aren't Illegal" on RUclips
Your bigger problem would be the gun control act of 1968 that banned the import of select fire weapons.
Snakesht172 Ahh... California... *Fixed Magazines*
I remember John Travolta's character using it towards the end of the movie Broken Arrow.
Phillip Wellendorf yup.....also his character in Face/Off I think........toward the end again, lol. He may have a preference for this Beretta 93.

He used a stenchkin in faceoff as well
In 'Face Off'it was interesting to see the good guy and the bad guy switch roles. I think John Travolta and Nicholas Cage both did a good job. It may have been nepotism when Francis Ford Coppola got his nephew into the movie business, but Nick sure has more than proved himself one of the most versatile actors in hollywood.

I love your content, Larry. You mentioned that this is "kinda a bucket list moment" for you since the 93R is a relatively unique firearm. It's actually #1 on my top five weapons that I want to shoot someday. I just need to find a range with rentable weapons where I can do so. I'm very interested in the history/failings of the machine pistol concept and this is absolutely the coolest of the bunch.
This might be the first case ever where a real life gun actually sounds like it does in video games!
This gun is featured in Resident Evil: Code Veronica, first you start without burst and stock, later if you find the stock in-game, the burst fire is enabled.
Except CoD mobile. The gun modeled after the Beretta sounds like a laser gun. Silly AF

There actually were full auto variants, between the burst and semi modes there was a little infinity symbol for full auto, I dont know when they started/stopped coming with full auto capability, but they are out there, and I believe there was a variant of the stock that allowed it to be folded with a magazine in the gun, so that it could be stored with the stock on it while loaded with the 20 round mag.
looks BEAUTIFULLY made and WELL designed
This is honestly my favorite handgun. The look is spicy.
As a teenager I read Don Pendelton's books series about the character Mack Bolan. The 93R was one of his go to weapons along with a .44 AutoMag that he called Big Thunder. The books were largely weapon-porn, but for a 13 year old kid, it was adventure. Thanks for the video.
Ditto dude. I’m an old guy and pretty much the whole series of Bolan. This and the automag I wanna fire! The 92S is no slouch tho. Lol.
Damm, I thought I was the only guy who read those Mack Bolan books as a young teenager, am 48 yrs old now. I used to read those and borrow money just to go to the book stores and get the latest copy. Well, by the time I was 25, had amassed a good book collection of that series. Here's the irony in your post mentioning the Mack Bolan series. I had given my father my whole collection as my folks moved to Idaho back in 2000. Well, my father passed away in April of 2017 of cancer. I went back home to Idaho to bury my dad. Went through some of his things like any son would do. Lord behold, found the box that had all those Mack Bolan books in them. Missing a lot of the books as over time, my dad read them and probably loaned some out. Brought them back here to San Diego but they sat over a year. Well, I decided in early August to read them again and boy, I got a hard on for that 93R again...after nearly 18 years of not reading these book. I found a guy on ebay just a week or two ago who had the entire series from #1-116. I snatched it up for like $80. So, thanks Mr. Ronin Sherpa for mentioning the Mack Bolan series. I had to post this and sorry to everyone reading it being so long a response. I just wanted to share my heart.
I was looking for a Mack Bolan comment, which the Punisher was based at. Good to see one.
One is a scalpel, the other a hatchet.
Still amazed we have not seen a Mack Bolan movie. Shame.
I have an LOL trivia moment for this weapon. The movie franchise, Robocop, used this weapon as the main character's side-arm. For the movie they got ride of the forward grip and made the burst go from 3rds to 7rds. The fun part was the off screen guys, between takes, jumping to reload the side-arm. Still, this was another great vid! Yes, a gentleman earlier, remarked about bull-pup service rifles. Please, do a series on those. That would be most informative. Especially The French FAMAS F1 and F2! Plus, a comparison of all current bull-pup service rifles; L85, AUG, F1, P2000, Tavor. and Type 95.
SP D 7 round burst? Wow
Ah, but remember, in the movies they use blanks. Totally controllable.
SP D Plus the large muzzle device I am sure kept the muzzle down.
I always heard four shots in the sound effect, but I also think they ramped up the cyclic for bigger, more consistent flame.
Hello: A bucket list item for sure. He upped the game here. Thanks!!!!
Legendary weapon I read about it in 90's in one soviet book about weapon, only now I can see it in action.
I've always loved machine pistols. I know they're not exactly effective weapons, but I just like them! The 93R & the G18 are #3 & #4 on the list of Class 3 guns I would really love to own, just beneath the the M16/AR15 in the #1 slot (gotta love the versatility with that one!) and the MP5K-PDW as #2! I got to shoot a Glock G18 with one of the Fobus plastic stocks on it once. I didn't hit much, but I had a blast trying!
BTW, the Ruger KAC-556 with the factory folding stock -- otherwise known as the 'A-Team Gun' (I just fell in love with that guns when I was a kid) -- rounds out my top five most wanted machine guns, with the AKM & the FAL close behind in the #6 & #7 slots!

The price for a full auto m16/M4 is so pricey that’s a dream weapon. You’re looking at about 18-25k. IF I had the money I would rather get a RDIAS so I could put in the AR of my choice. That would be the way to go. You can always make your own if you have some machining skills and access to the equipment. I mean, who’s gotta know *wink**wink*
xDORITON You’re welcome.
Thank you for this awesome footage of my absolute dream gun. I don't care if it's practical or not! I would pay a decent chunk of money if Beretta were to make a civilian legal semi auto version I could sbr.
Great point about the magazine catch.
I've noticed the same issue playing with a naval Luger and its stock - reloading is a fumble at first for us right handers until you practice a little and get used to it.
Good PDW type system though, especially for 100 years ago and what they were working with then. Makes me think about SBRing a Glock from time to time.
This pistol is my absolute favorite pistol
This is a frequent gun in 80s movies. A heavily modified version was actually the super awesome gun the 80s Robocop used.

One of the few true machine pistols. Always thought they were interesting. It featuted prominently in a series of books i used to read in the early to mid 80's. From my limited experience with full auto weapons, i would estimate the cyclic rate around 900 rpm, which is plenty fast. The same as a very fast SMG.
Now you know what it looked like when Mack Bolan shot that thing, huh?
@@christophersewell5592 ah, you know the series, eh? I donated all my books from it (plus Able Team and Phoenix Force) to a local bookstore when i moved back in '14. Didn't need them anymore. I like the weapons reviews after Gold Eagle took over publishing, starting in the 50's volume numbers. Learned a bit from that. I had the whole Executioner series (#1 to 39), except for 1 or 2 books. Plus sone of the later Gold Eagle ones, #40 up through 85 or so, but not all of them. Maybe i should have kept them. I was teying to downsize a little though. I've shot all three and if I could choose one to own it would be the Stechkin, followed by the Skorpion, and then the Beretta.
I've always lumped the RAK in the same category as the micro-UZI as it seems more like a tiny 2nd gen sub gun than a machine pistol, with only the fact that it's not a shrunken version of a larger gun to give it pistol cred!
I had the opportunity to shoot it along with a few other Polish small arms at SHOT the other year but scheduling conflicts prevent us from getting out to that particular range, hoping to get the opportunity again some time. From what I've seen it looks like a fun gun.

Thanks for the video - Beretta would have done a better job designing this gun with a 21-round-mag, so it would give you seven bursts on each mag - besides that, this gun is just epic!
20 round mags come standard on the M93R - of course you could load round 21 directly into the chamber, but ammo depletes pretty quickly and so you will soon have to swap magazines, and with only 20 rounds in the subsequent mag the gun won't give you seven full cycles, so I'd prefer 21. Just wanted to point that out, thanks for your comment -
Frank Steinmann you can get a 30 round mag from Beretta, 10 trigger pulls per mag 😆
Good point - I guess the best way to operate this gun (if you could get your hands on one legally!) is to load one in the chamber, 20 in the mag and carry 30 round spare mags, so you get 17, 27, 37..... bursts!
WhiteDwarfVR4 will the 30 round magazines fit a standard Beretta 92F, i want a high capacity mag and all I can find is the allegedly unreliable promag
Yes. You can buy them from Beretta's website.
The Europeans are very fond of this type of pistols, converted to fire full auto and adding a little stock for fire control and extending the shooting range, the mayority are 7,63mm ,9mm and some .45 acp pistols,I like this option of "extended range firepower in a semi auto pistol" in special in flat shooting calibers as 7,63mm and 9mm😊😊😊This Beretta is AEESOME!!!😊😊❤❤❤❤

Well thanks to Ronald Reagan, your chances of ever owning a 93R, Glock 18, or any other Selectfire/Auto weapon is slim to none unless your a Class 3 dealer/ LE Agency/ Military. Reagan signed into law that any Auto Type Firearm mfgered after 1985 was illegal to own/possess by any civilian. What Reagan did was make selectfire rifles like the Ruger AC556,Bushmaster XM16,etc that you could buy for under a grand prior to 1986 go out of reach for the average enthusiast. After you paid the 200 Transfer Tax Stamp fee you had maybe a 1000 to 1200 dollars in a perfectly legal firearm. Now these same pre 86 papered Guns are out of sight in cost. I've seen papered AC556's as high as 10grand and MP5's go even higher. He may have done some good things for the US but this wasn't one of them. Full Auto Firearms used in Crime don't even reach the 1% level. Contrary to Government/Politician BS. Owning one of these is more of a Novelty than believing they are just purchased to commit crimes. Neat Video, majority of Gun Owners will never see one of these Rare Pieces ...
Correction............ NOT thanks to Ronald Reagan. Reagan may have signed the bill, but the overall result was a law that would benefit and protect gun owners across the nation. Particularly if you were lawfully transporting a firearm across state lines and passing through leftist schittholes enroute to your destination. FOPA '86 protects you from prosecution if you're stopped. It also did away with the ammunition record-keeping requirement of the GCA '68.
If you wish to thank someone, thank the Kennedy scumbag that threw what he had hoped was a poison pill in to the bill with the intended purpose being to derail it all together.
Also thank Reagan and the NRA for the Panther Bill
