Only DJI works with DJI stuff (with the specific versions of stuff being very critical). Are you asking about cheap analogue stuff? If so see ruclips.net/video/cxF7W_f6S_8/видео.html
I'm confused what screws to use with the rubber dampers attaching the VTX/cam to the quad .. it had some small micro Philips flathead screws and some m2s that seemed a bit too long. Any help appreciated!!
can you sneak the battery in the top cage? this boi is 70 bucks without the FPV unit, I was going to slip a little analog unit in there and have a little 2s whoop basher.
Great review of the betafpv pavo pico. I own the Mobula8 and use it with a full sized walksnail vtx v2, but was considering the betafpv pavo pico frame. Same thoughts that although the pavo pico frame seems almost indestructible with it's carbon frame and polycarbonate prop guards, the canopy for the VTX seems flimsy and with the standard head over heals crashes, not sure how long it would last without the VTX and canopy separating or disintegration in a crash. The mobula8 canopy for the air unit seems way more durable, and I have custom mounted my full sized walksnail VTX v2 under it and mounted with raised standoffs.
I'm not here to steal anyone's thunder....Yes, you can, I just built one with a Vista, I suspect an old AIR unit will be too big, I only used a Vista. It is a very easy frame to build in (3 sections) I opted to build my own, but the BETAFPV kit comes with a AIO designed for this set up. I opted to use my own AIO. which will create a number of issues (for me) Micro USB plug for set up will be (in my case) inaccessible both in downward configuration or side port configuration. Some disassemble will be (in my case ) necessary to set up in Betaflight. My only gripe with the frame is that they should have included more mounting holes patterns for either 3 hole or 4 hole motor mounting. You can use down ward facing motor plugs which will increase overall height slightly (3-4mm) but this also depends on which AIO you use, (you "may" need spacers to accommodate the extra height, depending on AIO) GNB 2S 450 batteries will fit, but it does take some effort.
I have designed a head tracking universal mount that I will use to transfer walk snail between models. Is there a universal interface such as Lego that I should be using? 😊
At this rate I may end up designing one! Something like the battery trays from. RC helicopters sound like a good place to start for the design.... Happy flying

Fantastic review, Lee! Thanks! 😃 I really like the idea. Actually, I put a small "pod" together a while ago, to use with airplanes. It's just a small PVC sheet with holes to mount a 20x20 VTX and a FPV camera with one of those metal brackets. You know? Now that I'm going to build an airplane (I just need some aluminum scraps and more hot glue), I'm considering replacing the camera for a Caddx Turtle v2 I have here... I bought it to build a quad, but hey... I'm not going to build it any soon. Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
There's a CNC aluminum holder for the 03 that holds the camera and air unit in a little framed box that looks pretty much like a gopro mount, and it mounts where a gopro would normally. Seems like a decent idea as you won't have props in view on most frames. It does put the unit in a more vulnerable position, but they are still less expensive than a gopro. If I post the name of the site, my comment gets deleted.
@@Painless360 think it would be worth doing one where you review the initial setup in BetaFlight and your thoughts and recommendations on how to best improve the PIDs/Tune. I purchased the Stanford O3 version and it came setup with Crossfire in BetaFlight and even after downloading the (supposedly) O3 CLI file from the support site it was still wrong. After a lot of frustration I found through one of the videos on their site that you have to set the RX to UART6 so that it works with the DJI Controller 2. I reported this to BetaFPV support and they still sent me to the same CLI file that is totally wrong. They just sent me a response this morning finally admitting that I was correct. Hopefully by now they fixed this. Most videos out there, don’t cover any of the BetaFlight settings.
On a new 2s 450mah 75c I'm getting about 2:00 of "Good" non aggressive flight time. Thats taking away a few seconds that you need to actually get back to you flight point before the unit drops below voltage and you both fall out of the sky and loose video signal. I've seen others on youtube get closer the the claimed 4 min but not sure how. I've order some HV lipos to see if that could make the difference.
@@spfpv6753 unfortunately neither am I. and like I said some of that time is return to home time. The battery tray is a little too small for much more than a 2s450 but I may modify it to test a slight larger lipo once I’m bored with it.

I'm sure that 3d print designers are working on 'cages' for all of the options. I'm with you. Offering a generic cage or ones for all the regular options would be a good idea!
very good idea with the universal swappable pod!!!
Great idea, swappable pods would be perfect even for fixed wings.
Can you recommend a cheap remote control and glasses that I can use for the drone? Unfortunately the DJI components are too expensive for me.

The rear screw of the FC will smash up VTX port during crashes.

Can you put an old air unit or caddax vista on it?
With a little bit of modification. I'd check on places like Thingiverse in case designers have already made a cage fro that hardware.. Best of luck!

1504 with 5 inch props can give you 15 min flight time with 3s (1500mah batt) . ...... It can be extend if you use molicell p42A
And then the whole whoop with the hd air unit' sled" can plug into the balance lead of the whoop and snap on top of an rc car that can release pwm
only 03 or WS… meh then. I Supposed they think everyone spent money on the new «better» stuff…
