I'm sure some may, but the conservation is much bigger than making a meal. The idea of bringing home a limit or keeping trout for dock side bragging is going the way of the dinosaur. Speckled trout are a very finite resource with millions of saltwater licenses issued yearly, recent freezes, and more guides and boats in the water than ever before, the quantity and quality of trout has drastically declined. Leave them to breed. The previous generation of fishermen almost destroyed this resource. This generation needs to do what we can to ensure the next generation can enjoy the sport.
@Rainbo Sprinkles Well, I was raised to put food on the table, so when I used to fish, it was to save money. Not everyone is rich to buy sea food and even more now with price being so high. I'm glad you can afford it. I don't think keeping one or two fish going to break anything. If you upset complain to the fisheries that wipe out the fish. I'm just a small peasant enjoying what I can.
@@chipb7431 not upset, just explaining the mindset. This channel obviously isn't one that's going on meat hauls. They clearly state in every video they are searching for trophy trout. In their videos they promote empty stringers. They talk about the conservation of the trout population. They're on $70000 boats, using high-end rods and reels typically, so I don't think they are playing the poor victim card like yourself. Lastly, they did keep fish and so do I. They named the restaurant they'll take their catch to and they said they caught dinner. Trout aren't being wiped out by commercial operations. They've been damaged by recreational fishermen packing freezers full if meat.
We appreciate the concern, but the biologists we work with at the Harte Research Institute in Corpus Christi have studied this and they recommend Boga grips or some sort of lipping device for handling trout.
Always appreciate the videos. They're Entertaining and educational. The trout bite on the upper coast has been great lately.
Thanks Rainbo.....we appreciate your support

Do the handles on the Phantom casting rods get any longer on the 6,9 or 7’? Wanted a medium mod fast for trout but not with too short of a butt!
Don’t think Mike got to do anything like this over at Compadres 😂 I’d make that move in a heartbeat too

There was a recent freeze that messed up the trout population so most fisherman in south texas usually just release them
@@chipb7431 aint no way its cheaper to fish unless you live near the bay and dock fish.
Just grab the fish you guys break lips and jaws using boca grips
