I was at the games. The whole event (4 days for me) was outstanding. There were jerseys from all over NRL and Super League. I’ll never miss this weekend for the next 4 years. The NRL will need to pump more money into the marketing. It took the NFL a lot of money and time to expand. Best time of my life. Good vid.
Love hearing the event was a great experience. Hopefully the league can make more fans like you throughout the next 4 years. Thanks for checking out the vid.
😮 The crowd figure was outstanding in the circumstances. There was a Virtual cyclone on matchday which hugely impacted the walkup crowd.
That's a fair call. I just think that with most of these numbers being Aussies shows the US crowd really didn't care for it.
They needed Kylie Minogue there in Tiny Hot Pants. Speaking of the WWE maybe get Rhea Ripley there next year? She's an Aussie.
More star power 💯
It's a seed that is planted and it's a start that's is what's important right now. Question is what they do next year to slowly build it a bit higher than the previous, it's gonna take a while. The same thing happened for the MLS it took a while to gain interest for the USA and now there's more interest compared to 2 decades ago. The problem in the Rugby League culture is that we're too focus on the nows or short-term achievements, be patient and consistent in progress and then it will grow
This is a real fair call. I guess I don't like when our media tries to make it out as if the event was a major success when it's a small step in the right direction 🤷♂️
@HaveaChat we could use some positive press as it rarely happens in the media given how much they love the negative. Give it 5 years and then comeback for a review of how it really is progressing, it's a long ride
We're here for it! We'd love nothing more then to see the greatest sport of all thriving in the US.
@@HaveaChat you're not the only one. Keep up the good work!
A good chat. I think they needed to send Penrith there as well. I understand they have the game in the UK obligation. They could have done more like target ESPN. Shows like first take that have big audiences. I agree it comes down to promotion and they didn’t promote it well enough. But this will get better as years go by (we hope)
They needed a different strategy. Working with ESPN would have been perfect.
This las vegas trip reminds of the simpsons ep where the town wasted money on a monorail lol
HAHAHAHAHAHA At least they had a catchy song to go with it!
Good chat boys. I also think the NRLs focus on the spectacle of the event overshadowed any efforts to engage with the locals. They could've leveraged the event to highlight the cultural exchange between NRL and NFL.
Well said! It should have been a collaborative effort instead of just an Aussie event overseas.
Not a huge NRL fan. From an outsiders perspective, the Melbourne Storm and the Warriors should have gone. Just on name value alone, Melbourne and Sydney would have brought more states fans and I think New Zealand much the same. Brisbane and Manly doesn't mean anything to Americans from personal experience and they don't know the teams or the game anyway.
Unpopular opinion, it should've been Storm v Roosters and Warriors v Bunnies (or arguably the Titans)
I don't know if the teams mattered. They really needed to do better with their marketing campaign.
Yep teams didnt matter but even if they did, the option to play in vegas went out to all teams, but barely any of them wanted to do it
@@NoEvidenceForGod Oh true? Super disappointing to hear
