This is crazy, I've made almost the same thing for four years in college. I originally meant to make pigs in a blanket but I bought regular size dogs by accident (instead of the mini dogs). I made dough but it wouldn't stretch enough around the regular size dog without tearing, so I just laid it on top and put it in the oven. I'm not kidding, it's exactly like this! I made them almost every week for four years straight and all off my friends loved them. This is just blew my mind and brought back so many memories.
With dough like this you have to let it rest and then stretch it out, this should be done ahead of time to get the right size.

Pizza dough has become my arch nemesis. Tossing 2 whole packs of instant yeast into 4 cups flower plus everything else, and having it work blew my mind.

Yup! I thought hotdogs kinda sucked growing up because I only had them boiled or "dad BBQ" charred to a crisp lol. I crave them regularly now ever since I started scoring them. I tend to criss-cross slice them so you get pointy parts that really crisp up. Toasted sweet hawaiian bun, perfect!
@@RyTrapp0 that’s right the cross-cross slice with the points. I might do that tomorrow with my charcoal grill. I have a pack of Kirkland hot dogs for tomorrow.
7:05 used to be nervous to make dough, didn't want to mess up but Sam shows it`s always a way 👍
I've done this but on a charcoal grill. Takes a little longer but that kiss of flame and charcoal back flavor is superb.

In South Africa, we made hotdogs over and open fire called "stokbrood". Stick bread. We rolled dough over a stick, cooked it over the fire, and then pulled off the bread shell. Added the dog and relish. This takes it to the next level. You guys rock.
