MANY GREAT PARTS OF AFRICA, AFRICA IS STILL NATURAL HABITAT, NATURAL OCEANS, FISH AND MEAT IN AFRICA ARE STILL FED NATURAL FOOD. RESOURCES IS PLENTIFUL. MOST OF THE BUSH PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO MORDERNIZED, I DONT BLAME THEM, WHEN YOU MODERNIZE? YOU DESTROY NATURAL HABITATS AND THEN MORE CHEMICAL WASTE END UP DUMPED IN THE RIVERS AND OCEANS. @@nuelreview5636 lol who cares?.... the records are there, the peace indices, level of security, power and water supply information of each African country are there. Are you saying you don't know that the two safest countries to live in in Africa are Mauritius and Ghana?... you may describe your country whichever way you want it to look attractive to people but the basic information that attract people to want to visit any country are 1. Security for all 2. Peace for all 3. Safety for all 4. Electricity and water supply for all. These are essential basic requirements that would move anyone to want to visit or emmigrate to a particular country not size, or popularity. Nigeria must sit up and work hard in those areas.... simple!

Im also a Nigerian. The road from the airport is just like entering my university campus. I never thought of it as anything special or amazing. Even if I'm filming, I won't show it. To me, it's just road and green landscapes. Apparently, it's a big deal in other places. I mean in Ibadan if you visit IITA, MOOR, NIHORT, U.I and a host of other places, you'll see scenes like this. In Ogun state, you'll also see several campuses like this. I guess because it's so common, we don't really appreciate it. It looks ordinary to us. Apparently, it's extraordinary to foreigners.

    Great job!
As an architect who's lived in Abuja for 24 yrs I know a bit abt the d city. Designed by Kenzo Tange, it was intentionally conceived to be different from any other African capital cities. Abuja is patterned after Brasilia, the capital of Brazil.
Both were planned and developed as purpose-built capital cities, with similar architectural and urban design principles.
Both use geometric designs, wide boulevards, and spacious green areas.
There's a deliberate building development policy to limit the number of floors in residential and mixed-use areas to a max of 4. Development Control, the government agency saddled with the responsibility of apply ensuring building codes and zoning are enforced also limits the number of floors in the CBD (Central Business District) as well. So don't expect to see very tall skyscrapers as in other cities. The intent is to spare the city the problems and challenges that come with skyscrapers.
The residential and mixed-use areas, however have seen rapid developments with new estates, gated neighborhoods and commercial plazas, most of which AT cannot see in one visit.
Abuja is continuously growing with new phases and layouts opening up. Katamkpe Ext., Asokoro Ext., Maitama Ext., Life camp new layout, Idu where the train metro station is situated...and the list goes on and on.
Truth is, for residences, the best of Abuja are no longer in Asokoro, Maitama, Wuse or Jabi. There are grander, bigger, better houses as stand-alone structures or in gated estates in many other areas. Abuja is phenomenal place and its beauty and calm candor is just beginning to unfold. Enjoy your stay AT.

Besides what you've already confirmed yourself,
    Here are some amazing facts:
    1. It is the greenest city in Africa.
    2. People here are very friendly.
    3. There's no single slum standing in the entire city.
    4. Next to Zero traffic jams. Even on the exit roads at rush hours.

You're not alone. Most of Ghanaians even have the guts to compare their average city called Accra to Abuja simply because they have not been there before and they can't even watch it on RUclips

Anyone notice ever since Nigeria relocated it's capital from Lagos to Abuja in 1991 we've stopped having militiary coups, the City was designed to prevent such takeovers and to secure the government of the day and its structure. That was one of the major purpose of the creation of a new capital.

I beleive Kano is also getting ready to be a great city that is ought to be. Generally, Nigeria is a great place, beautiful and with interesting diversity... security has also improved tremendously... even the economy is being tackled and it'll improve soon.

@lifeguard2707No, if it's the Barracks and Children's park and zoo or where Mogadishu Contanments is for barbecued fish, they are actually nice. They don't bother you at all. T. A would just need to be careful not to film them.
