I kinda wish there was a mod or fan game of Diablo 1 that turns it into the proper roguelike that it seemingly _wants_ to be. One town and one megadungeon for the whole game is classic roguelike stuff. Plus all the randomness involved.
I'd say the opposite actually, it's a simplified version of a deep song with a lot of layers and subtlety. Doing Uelman's work for the Diablo games justice is nearly impossible, though.
