I guess it's not a secret anymore, the mountains near Los Angeles are incredible! Now, go and ride these trails! I've included the GPX track and route info in the video description to give you one less excuse. ⬆😎👍🏻
Thanks
excellent content
@@raymondgoodman9148 honestly, of anyone else in the game, Alee goes the distance when it comes to staying ahead of the information....
What month(s) did you ride this? Since you rode by Big Bear in short sleeves, I'm guessing not January...
Sooo grateful! 🙏🏽
This is truly a great video. My love pass a way in 2007 and having a companion to do these things with is wonderful. I am now 78 and still miss our times together. I do live in the desert and it is only 3 miles to dark sky's. Thanks for the inspiration to go out again if only for a few short days or years.
I Lost My Love In 2019 and I am 78 also , I Miss Her Every Day . Sorry For Your Loss .
Hello from Ukraine. Your's videos are amazing, and your's channel - one of the best on RUclips, based on a bicycle thematics. Thanks for all that you are doing, I'm already dreaming about little bicycle journey like these one.
О, земляки)А канал цей дійсно шикарнючий😊
"...and to our amazement, half of them were doing it drunk." LOL! That one came out of left field, so dryly delivered.
ahhhh, watching this is by far the best Sunday morning hangover cure.... what beautiful cinematography, editing and music.... inspiring.... Can't wait for my next bike packing trip
She's so excited about everything 🙂
This is top tier content, very inspirational and well put together. Get well soon mama cyclingabout.
Another top-notch video. Thanks for taking us on your incredible journey.
Wishing your mother well.
Absolute gem. You and Laura make a great team, hope the collaboration won't stop here. Sorry to hear about your mum, all the best to all of you. Take care.
When i fell down on my recent trip and sustained leg injury, it felt so painful that i could barely breathe for a minute. After assessing the condition of my body, Somehow I thought of you, and might have said to myself that alee would ride on. then all the worries and fear were gone. I could continue to ride, and shortly the pain didn’t bother me much and I completed my tour a few days after. It was some brilliant experience. I don’t usually comment and say things, but you’ve been such a huge inspiration to me, and i really wish for the quick recovery and good health of your mother. Hope you come to travel in Canada in the future, Alee!
Heartfelt thanks for the effort, the editing, the music score and above all, riding this trail. Just a brilliant video, thank you so much for sharing!
My best wishes go out to your mother for her recovery.
Thank you again and again for always sharing us your amazing adventures. Wishing your mom to get well soon!
WOW! This is a fantistic video. So well put together. The editing. The scenery. Very inspiring. You shoud be proud. Thanks
Thanks for share in g ...I might never get there myself..I am so pleased that places like this are out there tranquility is so needed by us all
God bless your mother with a full recovery. I said a prayer for her.
Hello, friends, I am writing to you from Antalya, Turkey. I've been cycling for a year. I've been watching videos of cycling tours on youtube for seven months. I haven't watched such a beautiful one. I enjoyed it very much, your camera shots, your travel route preference, everything was perfect. I want to watch your other videos with great excitement. And new ones too. Goodbye,
Thanks Alee sending positive thoughts to your Mum.
Wow, I just love California. I once drove from San Diego to Joshua Tree, it was in September 2018. It was so hot I wasn't used to it. I had to stop in Salton City. But it's so beatiful over there.
Man ... what a joy to watch . I can only imagine what it's like in person. Count yourself lucky!
One of the great tours of Southern California. I enjoyed the video and all the scenic aspects of it seen from a bicycle and that is one of the best perspectives. Hope all is well in life. Cheers from Oregon.
Another beautiful video. It's the best content on RUclips
I enjoyed every single second of this, amazing.....what a bless to have a girl friend compagnon who enjoys so much, no complaints heard, great performance also. just fun. Wishing all the best to both of you. Thx
A great adventure and greetings from northern Alberta Canada 👍
Wonderful filming, wonderful route! Sorry about your mother. Hope she's soon healing. I've dropped out of cycling ( apart from very local rides when time permits ) myself these last three years to care for my mother who has dementia and is as helpless as a one year old child. Riding around the world was challenging, this is a greater challenge. Let's hope we both come out of it some day with lessons learned, greater patience and resilience, and ready to get back in the saddle and see more of this amazing planet with its amazing people and animals. Hope I haven't slighted plants inadvertently. Yes, they're amazing too.
wow what a good son you are! And know you know how much she actually did for you, when you were small and helpless your circle is almost complete bless you!
I am enjoying watching this tour as I lived in Rancho Cucamonga in the 90s and toured most of these roads on my mountain bike .
Best of luck to your mother! Hope that all turns out well! Great video. I live in San Diego, so not far from your route. That ride is on my list!
I love you RUclips community ! No other site would this be this accessible.
The absolutely best part in this video came when she displayed her beautiful chocolate teeth and smile! It is the little things in your videos that really make a difference.
Alee, your videos are top quality. Thank you for posting your journey. I watched your tribute to Iohan. All your travels convey relaxing and contemplative mood.
As a 30-year Los Angeles native, now living in Denver, CO - it's nice to see a video from my hometown. There are things I miss about LA however, Colorado is significantly more bike friendly than the greater SoCal area.
Glad you both had a safe trip and thanks for sharing.
Welcome to LA. I watched this as a local trail runner and I couldn't help myself while watching by saying "I've run there, and there, and there this morning" while you were in the San Gabriel Mountains.
It is truly amazing how it is so desolate just a few miles outside of LA. Very few venture off pavement and concrete. Good for those of us that do!
Hope your mum will recover. I lost my father due to cancer less than 3 weeks ago and it sucks.
Awesome video! Mt Baldy is 10,064 ft. I live at it's base!
I loved this video, having grown up at the base of Mount Baldy, I truly appreciate it. We used to ski up there as kids, play in thst creek, spent many hot summer days in San Antonio creek. I currently have an unobstructed view just steps from my doors.
The ride on Glendora Ridge Road is stunning. Having lived in Glendora for 20 year, I am familiar with that road. Town is less than 5 minutes away. I was there for the Colby fire, it was terrifying, all because of a few careless Methheads.
Shout of to Glendora Police Officer Nancy Miranda who spotted trouble and sounded the alarm, and apprehended the perpetuators. I have never seen such a firefighting effort. The helicopters and planes and the bravery of the firefighters doesn't go unnoticed. Every 30 seconds another aircraft flying into the darkness of smoke. Around 08:20 am the winds shifted saving our town of Glendora, a few friends homes were heavily damaged, but we survived. I recognized so many locations, riding along the arroyo seco, brought back childhood memories of me on my bicycle. I will say prayers for your mother and your entire family. Thank you for sharing.
🙏🙏💛🚴♂️🚴♀️. There was a trail camera bear where you camped in Glendora a hot spot for mountain lions, bears, coyotes and rattle snakes, etc. So glad you haf safe travels.
Fantastic video! Beautifully edited. Thanks!
amazing documentary i was completely immersed and your soundtrack is outstanding ! I even saw some fellow unicyclers pass by... 🤙🏽 Totaly on my bucket list thank you so much for sharing you are very talented and your gf is gorgeous 🕊️
Wonderful, just wonderful! Thank you so much for this inspiring video.
Wishing your mother a speedy recovery.
A stunningly beautiful film. Hard to imagine such contrasting landscapes just a few miles apart. Thank you.
Absolute top notch video, as usual. Love following your adventures, you've inspired me to take on my first multi-day bike trip ever in two weeks from now. A modest 3-4 days, but it's a start. I'll sure miss your videos, but a man's got to do what a man's got to do. If you've inherited any of your grit from your mom, I'm sure she'll beat this thing. Take care.
I love your banter back and forth, it's so organic and nurturing. Thanks for all your hard work editing this into a beautiful video! Stay safe out there, and well wishes to your mother!
A total smash hit......out of the park! Thanks for sharing this incredible ride. You and the lovely young woman make an exquisite pair. That you both enjoy being out there on your bikes together is nothing short of magic. If is your mutual interest,
I hope you can both find a way to make it last. Best wishes for your mother. God Bless. Looking forward to your next!
I have always enjoyed your channel Alee, one of the best channels on RUclips with incredibly high quality content. I hope you and Laura make a good future together as she's really so nice natured and enthusiastic, fit and healthy, and I know how hard it must be to follow your cycling passion and a family life, I hope she's up to it. I had to chuckle at Lauras attempts at pushing on her bars dismounted up those tricky hills. Does her bike have a steering lock? Would it be easier to push from the back with the steering locked. Another of my interest is mudfossils and it got me wondering what those rocks perhaps once were. Yes, I try to look for what was once biology in our rocks. Wishing you both all the best and please accept my small donation toward your equipment costs.
I grew up down south in LA. It warms my heart to see all the places I frequented. But I had forgotten how dry it is, if not for the few places where water could be found.
Wow! I really enjoy your videos. By turns, they can be very technical and informative, or completely relaxing and inspirational. The videography is NatGeo in quality, and the music and running commentary are superb.
Very well done, and thanks for making my day better!
Really enjoyed this video. Great video content, beautiful sound track, fantastic editing, and an overall nice pace. Awesome!
Thank you for all your videos, you gave me the will to travel with a bike. May the force be with your mother and all your family...
Best of luck to your mother sending love and prayers for her speedy recovery.
Incredible video. Loved it. Cheers Keith from Australia.
awesome south california trip, joshua tree and cactus are huge. very beautiful view.
OK.....that was beautiful. Thank you both so much.
Great video- just some incredible riding and landscape
Wow, that was amazing. It is incredible that there is such solitude so close to the LA basin. Thanks for the great video!
I live the bike part, would enjoy seeing more about the packing part! super interesting!
Wow I was living thru you guys watching this. I forget how beautiful the world is!
Thank you so much for sharing this❤
Dear madam sir, a well balanced feeling to it , what ever you do do it with that smile......fullfilness of the innerbeen, chapeau
I just saved this route but I’m going to do it in reverse. I’m planning on visiting Slab City and see some friends. Thanks for such a cool route.
Heck yeah, I'm gonna fo this to la and back to the desert in spring. In the JT area the route from the east is known as the back way to big bear
There is some access to the river, just off the highway, around Blythe I wanna say. You know the river hangout? It is enjoyable
Wow, just wow!
The Glendora Road is well known for motorcycle Canyon racing. Locals call it GMR. There is a lot of traffic on weekends. Many car commercials are shot there also. Great job on the footage.
What an amazing, beautiful looking video. I enjoyed every minute! Thank you so much for posting!!
I hope things go well in Australia xx
Amazing. Thanks for sharing. Prayers for your Mom.
Its amazing how you can go from pine to palm trees in the same area.
A wonderful video!
Kühl. Laura is a star!!
Enjoy your videos! Rode some of those trails when I lived in LA. Riding across country starting late spring, hopefully! Enjoy your break and GOD BLESS your Mom! Hope she is doing better! Happy New Years!
You two appear to make a great cycling pair. Each is as adventurous as the next.
Well you really inspire me to just go out there and ride
Nothing helps one maintain joy and health like cycling. Good riding
Alee, Thank you for all your great videos and best wishes for your mother. I hope you can return to your trip to Alaska when she's healthy again. Plenty more great riding in California's coastal range all the way up to San Francisco (and beyond). I'd love to see what your creative eye would make of those trails and roads. Best wishes from Carlsbad, CA.
I live here in the SW desert. Great in the winter but sucks in the summer! I bike at 5am when it's ONLY 85° but 95-100° when I finish my ride 3 hours later. This looks like February with the Hedgehog Cactus in bloom. Thanks!
It’s death in the summer 🥵
Very cool , drone footage was nice too!! Great Job on the trip.
you provide a lot of beautiful footage and smooth editing in your presentations. quite a service on the side with all the beta a person could need to make good choices in a forest of bike products and modalities. not to mention, you just brought me back to J tree after many many years away from that sweet smell at sunrise.
Looks like the dream!
Wonderful surprise this episode! Loved the interesting nuggets about the flora and fauna. Loved the music. Loved the narrative.
I've been on a few of those dirt roads in my 4Runner (I'm not one of the ones that hits the "test your rig" kinda climbs). Biking sure makes you slow down and appreciate where you are!!
Absolutely awesome. You guys rock. Thanks.
Merci pour le partage !! video magnifique ,merci
thanks guys, incredible trail with awesome views, hope your Mam gets better soon
I follow lots of Mtb channels. The cinematography and story telling on this one is next level.
Great video, as always. We love to follow you two, you guys are a wonderful couple! Cheers!
Amazing job staying present giving us great notes and a thoughtful edit. I am taking notes.
love to all , all the best for your mum
Thank you for this wonderful video! It is great to see you both in this paradise!
That is freakin awesome! Thanks for sharing your journey. I can't wait to experience this for myself. God bless
I just came across your channel. I live in Lake Arrowhead and have done this ride a dozen times. I often use it to get into shape and test my gear for other trips. It is near and dear to my heart. It is amazing, that you can be seemingly in the middle of no where, but you are still so close to so many things.
I had no idea the scenery was so spectacular there, great video, thanks!
Awesome. All the best to your mother in her battle.
Awesome 👏
absolutly wonderful the images the story line the companionship one of the best videos I've had the pleasure to watch .ps wishing speedy recovery to your mother fair winds
Thanks mate that was epic ! A token of my appreciation coming via PP. Best wishes.
Beautiful video!
We 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰cycling’s around USA, Thank You for a beautiful USA landscaping video 🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
Wonderful video, well done to you both 😊
Best wishes to your mother! Safe travels
What a wonderful, entertaining, and professionally done video! You two look very fit and happy, more power to you both. My Priority 600X will never have the life that yours has. It has become more of a domestic 2.5" slick tire urban creature of late down here in flat Houston. We take every chance we get to go off into the deep grass and down any trails we can find. Be safe, get dirty.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful video👍
Amazing tour! What an awesome adventure!
Oh my, i just made it to the end of your video. Oh goodness, prayers for your mother. I hope that she is doing well. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Wow its amazing bikepacking paradise...awesome👍🏻
You guys did a great job showcasing this area, not to mention negotiating those rocky U.S. Forest Service roads.
Love this. What an exceptional adventure so close to the big city. I'm hoping to get on my first bike packing trip next year on the Mah Dah Hey (North Dakota). I'm going to search your channel to see if you've done that one!
Beautifully put together. Would have been great to see the nightly campsites though.
