I love that drive over Slumgullion Pass. If you ever plan to stay in Lake City, let us know. We will meet you there. Thanks for sharring you life! Great photography.
Just love watching your videos ! Great videography, narration and the pause for signs and inserts of information. We live in CO and have only taken 149 once and camped at Wupperman outside of Lake City, boondocking site above Lake Cristobal. We met our son and family there, they lived in Durango and 4 wheeled over from Silverton.
We stayed in Lake city last summer during the 4th of July in Our motor home in a small camp ground on the west side of town. Nice place! Went jeeping back towards Silverton. We pulled our own 4x4. Came in and left from Gunnison.
Oh how I loved this one!! I grew up on Bikes this was my favorite things combined, loved the music and all!! Beautiful journey!!! Thank You Both so much
That was a blast guy's. The music was so in tune with the scenery. What a super interesting place. I get the feeling a person could to spend a month in that area and have a really great time. I stopped the video when you were eating at the Antlers Restaurant and read the menu. That was a nice menu; they had some really great things on it. It was making me hungry just reading what was on it; and actually the prices were pretty good. That looked like a super place to go. Looking forward to next week. Be blessed guys, and give that precious fur baby a hug for me.
Loved this video! I just spent the last 10 days riding in Colorado & New Mexico & the Silver Thread was the most beautiful section of Highway I've experienced. Keep up the good work.
So much fun watching this video, because we literally just got back from spending a week in Lake City, Colorado! We stayed in a campground for the first three nights, then we rented a cabin on Lake San Cristobal for a family reunion. So much fun! Saw two different moose. 😃
You two I realize everything isn’t always as wonderful as it seems, But you’re blessed to be having so many adventures in this RV life😉 Glad you’re bringing so many along. As the soundtrack sings” We’re living in a dream world👍
Loved the ride! At 83, with some balance issues, had to give up the m/c'n. (Over 400k miles over a lifetime of riding) I found myself leaning into the curves with you while sitting in my recliner. Sure miss riding, but we're still RV'n with our 5er and F350 SD.
I used to live in Gunnison and would drive the road to Lake City a lot to fly fish the Lake Fork of the Gunnison river. Lake City is one of the nicest small mountain towns in the state. Now that I'm retired and full-time on the road I will be coming back for a stay, thanks for reminding me what I've been missing. Now that I think of it, I also used to drive the road to Creede and South Fork and fish The Rio Grande. I'm definitely going back.
I would agree with them about the ride to Lake City, CO. One of my favorite snowmobile trails goes from North Clear Creek Falls up to the mountains above Slumgullian Pass near Lake City!!! Awesome, but the road between Creede and Lake City would be awesome for motorcycling!!! You usually get to see mule deer, elk and longhorn sheep along the roadway!!!
We have stayed at both Antlers and Mountain View. We really liked both for obvious different reasons. We have a 38 foot Cameo 5th wheel and had no problem with length. We were right next to the bank that backs up to the highway. No problem with noise and entirely hidden from road. It was fun to go over and sit on the patio where you ate and listen to live music one evening. Having the river right there was fabulous. We went to the same waterfall. Also enjoyed fishing beautiful Love Lake. If you missed the chocolate cake at Kips Grill….. make sure to get some next time!! We LOVE Angel Fire RV. Hope you are enjoying it right now. If you can’t get into the National Forests because of fire risks go over to Chama or Antonio and ride the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad.
Thanks for bringing back some good memories. One of my last rides thru CO was from Grand Junction over the Grand Mesa, thru the Gunnison, and down the 149 to South Fork where we stayed the night before heading back west. In fact that was our last multi day ride with one of our good friends who has since passed. That was a beautiful section of our ride and we had many good times riding there and back home.
That was a wonderful motorcycle ride thank you for taking me along. Colorado has some beautiful country to see. I believe I could forse myself to ride in that state for awhile. Ya'll stay safe can't wait till the next video.
Lake City is a great little town away from it all. Lived here for a bit in my teenage years. The town has really grown since then. You gotta know where to look for the moose, they like to hang out in swamy water. Always see a moose up near Deer Lakes (between LC&Creede). The fishing is good, and I would have highly recommended a Jeep trip on the Alpine Loop. Jeeping is what you go to LC for! Love it!!
My wife and I have been RVing since 1984. We’ve been everywhere in the USA. We love your show! Drive to Durango from your current location. It’s beautiful all the war th Fout Conners. Peter and Ava Z.
Great video guys! It was fun seeing places that we visited last week!! We stopped in South Fork (we live in Colorado Springs) for a couple of days before camping in Durango for a week. We visited Creede one day and loved it. It was fun seeing the places in your video that we saw last week. And North Clear Creek falls is special - when you drive towards it you can't believe there is a canyon with a falls - it is so flat. I think you were there in September - I saw some aspens with yellow leaves. That is a great part of the state to view aspens in the fall. And Your visit to Antlers Lodge brought back memories - I was with a church group from Texas and we stayed there for ski trip to Wolf Creek ski area - in 1979! I think they had just opened and someone at our church knew the owners! Looking forward to Angel Fire next week. We are camping in Red River in August and will likely take a day trip to Taos and Angel Fire. Thanks for great videos and taking us along with you on your travels!! (BTW, my younger brother is an Indian fan! I prefer the human powered bikes. 🙂)
We live in Arizona and love going to Colorado for cooler temps and love Creede. We used to stay at Mountain Views then decided to try Antlers RV park and we LOVE it. In a way I was hoping you wouldn’t show it so we could keep it a bit secret. It’s smallish but it’s on the river, has a restaurant which we love eating outside by the river.. We have a large Class A about 43 ft and a tow vehicle and we fit just fine. Some lots are smaller with only 30 amps. We are going there later this year. One of favorite places is Angel Fire rv resort, not cheap but fantastic! We are in NM now and going there next.We will be looking forward to your videos of the area!
Hey kids, sorry I missed you! I live along HWY 149, 11 miles out of Creede, near Mile Marker 32. At 6:05 in on your video there is a flash of "Hogback Mountain, that's where I live. Good job on the videos. My career was as a television engineer in the S.F. Bay area, but retirement brought me here. My family started coming here in the 50's and I have been a full time resident for 10 years now. Fine job.
Thanks Chad and Tera for sharing another one of your great adventures. I’m making a list of places Trish and I want to see and ride, Colorado was one of our first motorcycle adventures together and we would love to return. After this winter in Florida, we will be hitting the road with our Momentum and joining the adventure. Stay safe and have fun.
I have never been to Colorado and I didn't realize they had so many beautiful places to see there. Very nice video guys really enjoyed it. I watched the video with Phil and Stacy wrestling some new chairs into their RV I told them they should have invited you guys over for dinner.
Right now through mid October is best time to go imho. Peak autumn and elk rut at same time. Estes park area I'd recommend for the elk. They are everywhere.
Creed looks like a really cool place. Even looks like some good camping spots (we camp, not RV). Saw a little peg dragging on that motorcycle ride. I always like doing the twisties going uphill better than downhill.
I second the Alpine Loop. It's like no other Jeep trail I've seen in your videos. Thrilling!!! Next time you're in the area stay in Lake City and do Cinnamon Pass and Engineer Pass. Hint: Engineer Pas is MUCH more suspenseful!!
We were there first of June 2022. Did we pass you? We stayed in South Fork Colorado. Next time we will stay in Creede. Rumor has it that many residents don't like the ORV/UTV's travelling through town. All I can say is driving the Bachelors Loop in a side by side is a blast. We will do it again! Having the ability to pick up a side by side in town and ride it to the trailhead was super convenient. No messing with a trailer! People of Creede, don't cripple your revenue streams by limiting the OHV traffic!
Enjoyed the video! We camped in Lake City last year in A 35’ Solitude with a 10’ freedom hauler on the back with our Rzr so we re about 47’. We camped at Castle Lakes and it was beautiful. We were able to fit in no problem and there were larger sites than the one we had. We will be back as we live in CO near Denver. I have my eye on a Momentum, just need to convince the wife. She loves the Solitude so it is a hard sell.
You need to stay at the Riverbend resort in Southfork Colorado. There are so many things to do there also. So many rides you could make. Lobo lookout, ride to summitville mines, Platoro hunting lodge. The trip through the mountains is beautiful but the burgers once at the lodge are so good. There is so much more you could see there also treasure falls.
We love Lake City and consider it our summer home. We stay at Highlander RV Campground and have for 6 years. Several friends we have made there stay all season and have for 20+ years. Beautiful area, we love it. Wish we could have met up with you and had some good ice cream with you. Blessings.
Yes Colorado is awesome we went to canon city co, t .The gorge bridge and the train ride though the gorge was Awesome. The best was going from Reno nv on the loneliness hwy 50 to Moab UT. Did not know of lake city we were so close i think. Glad you had a blast
Hey, Dale & Esther here Thank you for mentioning us in your video. We were staying at the Antlers Lodge and we love it. Thursday Friday & Saturday night they have live music and you will need a reservation for dinner. The dinner food was great. We will be back to ride our side x side in September if you would like to ride with us. We will stay in Lake City and ride the Alpine Loop. Creede to Lake City is a great drive/ride but, as you mentioned, the road gets steep with tight curves at the top...especially in the Lake City side of the pass. Since it's a State Highway, it's also not terribly wide, so while people with big rigs or long trailers can do it, it's not for the faint of heart!!
I have been to Lake City several times since the 90s. in 2013 we stayed in our 35ft motorhome in Woodlake Park RV park just south of Lake City. Beautiful place with plenty of room for big RVs. Mostly have visited in the summer but did spend a Christmas there one year. Very beautiful. We were lucky enough to get to snowmobile some of the great trails they have there. Not sure if they do it anymore but they used to have an annual snowmobile race on the frozen Lake in the winter. Decades later it is still one of our favorite places to visit. BTW if you are going to Sturgis this year stop by and say hi. I will be running the Dyno for Speeds Performance Plus at the Car Quest next to the Pizza Hut on the west side of Lazelle. Ride safe, Love what you do.
hello again a nice video as always Go watch it I love motorcycles I'm also a biker And I have a Harley Continue to keep your good mood to make us very nice videos like the one we saw today today always a huge pleasure to watch and Tara is still so pretty And again thank you for making us dream
Nice ride! Our family just set out on our own full time adventure and we love watching your travels for info and inspiration. Where’s next after Colorado?
What a road!! We're going to Colorado after sturgis can't wait to try that silver thread road! Thanks. You've met us at Miami everglades Buzz and Bunky Chuck and Chris one of your early videos. Ride safe
What a great ride. Creed CO looks like a place we need to put on our camping destinations. Tera may I ask where you got your pink sunglasses. I'm looking for that style for riding on the Can Am with my husband. Thanks! Love your videos, destinations and cycle rides.
Lake City is a nice small town and the Cannibal Grille is the place to eat. We were there July 2020 and stayed at Castle Lakes Campground a few miles up the road from Lake San Cristobal. They have some big rig sites but limited cell service. Safe travels.
RE: Angel Fire. You guys might want to re-think that. Check out the forest fire reports of that area. Even if Angel Fire proper isn't directly affected, it's not going to be a pleasant area for a while due to the smoke, closed roads, and burned-out areas in the surrounding forests.
Does the silver thread highway by any chance connect to the golden needles highway? Inquiring minds want to know. (Think Linda Ronstadt, Dolly Parton or Wanda Jackson here). Nice video guys, I've gotta get out there. Keep the good stuff coming.
Have you guys ever ridden the “Tail of the Dragon” road with 318 turns in 11 miles? I believe it’s in Tennessee. My friend did it last week on his Harley Road King and said it was incredible!
We used to be good about shutting off the water but haven't in a long time. We bring the awnings in unless the forecast is for a completely calm day. It was the day of this ride. 👍🏼
I love that drive over Slumgullion Pass. If you ever plan to stay in Lake City, let us know. We will meet you there. Thanks for sharring you life! Great photography.
It's always nice when strangers stop ro see if people areOk. It's heart-warming. ❤
Thanks again for the invite. You guys always savein' us money, nice video, places, etc...even Daisy seems to appreciate being watched.
Love the editing and song choice. Great job!
Just love watching your videos ! Great videography, narration and the pause for signs and inserts of information. We met our son and family there, they lived in Durango and 4 wheeled over from Silverton.
You two always amaze me with how good your videos are and the pick of music is just one of a kind. Thanks for letting me watch !
We stayed in Lake city last summer during the 4th of July in Our motor home in a small camp ground on the west side of town. Nice place! Went jeeping back towards Silverton. We pulled our own 4x4. Came in and left from Gunnison.

That was one beautiful ride. Thanks for taking us along.
So good to see the San Juans again. We spent a lot of time when we lived in Colorado. Thanks for bringing back the memories.
We stayed in South Fork, Colorado last year and thoroughly enjoyed our time touring the area you showed in the video. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful scenery and quaint small towns!
That Daisy girl is just the sweetest little travel companion😘
What beautiful scenery!

Eggs Benedict! 😀
@@ChangingLanes Ohh Yumm That is one of my favorites. Hard to find really good Eggs Benedict. That accounts for the smiles you had when leaving. haha
Loved this video! I just spent the last 10 days riding in Colorado & New Mexico & the Silver Thread was the most beautiful section of Highway I've experienced. Keep up the good work.

I LOVE going along on Lucille with you! So cool.
Great video love the sight seeing video, and info on what to see and where to stay. Great job guys!!! thanks!
So happy you got to ride to Lake City.
Awesome scenery. That road was very well maintained looked like a awesome ride.

Beautiful little town !! Safe Travels guy's 💙
Thanks for the tour of the antlers rv park. We have driven by there for years and never stopped
The ride north from Lake City is is great too, another favorite of mine, just like most of the mountain roads of Colorado!!

Next time! 😀

awesome video, awesome choice of music. I was just mesmerized!
Awesome looking ride!

Another amazing video!!!!
There some great views on this byway. Have a great week
We will have to check out Lake City when we are in Colorado for the Four Corners Rally. Lucille handles those old country road very well.

Nice wide open country area riding, very inspiring when it is not seen in person often, (or unseen before).
we stayed at Creede, Antlers Rio Grand Lodge and RV park. Our friends stay in Lake City at WoodLake RV park and LOVED it!!

Thanks a lot were found Lake City about 10 yrs ago and have been trying to keep it quiet :) We rented a Jeep and did part of the Alpine Loop

Hey, Dale & Esther here
Thank you for mentioning us in your video. We're staying East this year, but you guys have fun and stay safe! 😀
Chad, you are awesome at editing!!! Grrrreat job!
Tara does all of our editing... No way I'd be able to make videos like she does!
In Amarillo Texas at the Texan Steakhouse there is a picture that the eyes move too. Great video as always. I love that you are fellow Ford people.
I think you might have meant "Big Texan" Steakhouse (technically, The Big Texan Steak Ranch) ;)
Always enjoy your videos! Gives me ideas of where to go, but with gas prices we are sticking closer to home state this year.
Yea.. fuel prices are outrageous!

We definitely want to go snowmobiling out there some winter!
So, Chad. Does Tara ever cook? LOL. This is one of my favorite vids yet. Oh, this was before you bought the new truck.
hello again a nice video as always Go watch it I love motorcycles I'm also a biker And I have a Harley Continue to keep your good mood to make us very nice videos like the one we saw today today always a huge pleasure to watch and Tara is still so pretty And again thank you for making us dream
Nice ride! Our family just set out on our own full time adventure and we love watching your travels for info and inspiration. Where’s next after Colorado?
Angel Fire is a very cool place to visit. Great views! A bit of a challenge to head NW.
The Brett Favre sign was not expected there. Nice to see though. Stay safe and healthy.
Colorado is one of the Blue states that is still worth going to.
Parts of it are.
Great video!
WOW!
What a road!! We're going to Colorado after sturgis can't wait to try that silver thread road! Thanks. You've met us at Miami everglades Buzz and Bunky Chuck and Chris one of your early videos. Ride safe
Of course we remember you guys! Hope you've been well! 😊
The grill at the Univ of Colorado student union used to be called the Alfred Packer Grill.
What a great ride. Creed CO looks like a place we need to put on our camping destinations. Tera may I ask where you got your pink sunglasses. I'm looking for that style for riding on the Can Am with my husband. Thanks! Love your videos, destinations and cycle rides.
Those were a random purchase at a motorcycle dealer a few years ago... Unfortunately, we don't have a link or anything..
Thank you for getting back to me. It’s always those spur of the moment purchases that are usually the best. I’ll keep looking 🤞.
Lake City is a nice small town and the Cannibal Grille is the place to eat. We were there July 2020 and stayed at Castle Lakes Campground a few miles up the road from Lake San Cristobal. They have some big rig sites but limited cell service. Safe travels.
JR. don’t tell anyone about that campground, let’s keep it a secret. Lol. That is my favorite place in the area.
Holy guacamole that's a BIG motorhome.
WOW all of this old stuff from last year.

made reservation to stay at Mt view in Creed CO for last week of August.
Have you guys ever ridden the “Tail of the Dragon” road with 318 turns in 11 miles? I believe it’s in Tennessee. My friend did it last week on his Harley Road King and said it was incredible!
The mother road.

Cool video. When do you think is the ideal time of year to visit Colorado with an RV? Weather/temp and people-crowds wise?
Ideal can be different for everyone. If you use RV Trip Wizard, it has a tab for seasonal temps and rainfall. 👍🏼
Did you guys camp at he KOA camp ground at cripple creek in June? If so we were right across from you.
Hey guys, great video! Just wondering if you shut off your water and close awnings when you head out for day trips?
We used to be good about shutting off the water but haven't in a long time. We bring the awnings in unless the forecast is for a completely calm day. It was the day of this ride. 👍🏼
Please don't pee in the Rio Grande. That's our drinking water here in the Rio Grande Valley of South Texas. LOL
Awesome content!! Where did you purchase your flag mounts on your Indian?
