easy. by being more expressive and outspoken with sincere gestures you're giving out more information for people to judge you on, thus less mysterious/less chase/less power. If you're wondering "how less power?" the answer to that is: Many girls who notice men to be sweeter and expressive know they can sideline them as insurance just in case their attempt at another 'more resistant' man falls through. Bottom line: too much, too soon makes for a dull relationship. Also women like men in power. Overly expressive men tend to know things last compared to others who sit back and listen and play it wise/cool.
they are just terms, but they are indeed fundamentally linked to gender. Whether you want to believe it or not. it's evolution: one gender is naturally more feminine/masculine than the other.
Masculinity and femininity are defined and created by society. This is why in other cultures we see women being able to take on more "musculine" (to us) roles easily, and men acting or appearing more "feminine" by our standards.
Not this woman. I believe that kindness and gentleness are the truest expressions of strength. I want to know who you *are,* not who you want people to *think* you are. I have only "sidelined" a nice guy once in my life ... and it wasn't for any kind of back up plan or insurance or anything having to do with him. Mark, maybe in other countries but in North America, a masculine man is someone who is emotionally closed off and confident in their actions all while being empathetic and caring. That doesn't make sense but neither does masculinity. It's a very confusing toxic identity.
I dont think male attraction works the same way... Man considers the way a woman looks more than anything. Dont know about you, but I would definitely go with laid back girl, cheerful one, slutty one, timid one, doesnt matter as long as she is hot. Of course its different if I were considering relationship, but in terms of sexual attraction, there is very few deal breakers for me. Maybe lesbians would have more to say about their attraction to female model, that could be interesting.
I will be honest, I preferred the one on the left about every time because he has such good personality. He smiled and showed more emotion which shows he really trying to connect with the girl. The one on the right looked like he was just a player.
I think that was why though. If both sides are typically physically attractive, your answers should only be based on how he acted. Like a control for the experiment. If he was average-looking not everyone would be interested and it would affect their choices.
i agree with sandra. once i took in how attractive he was haha i focused more on his actions and personality rather than his physical appearance. although, that may be because i don't go crazy over how "attractive" someone is and it's not what wins me over...
The experiment will change because if he was less attractive girls would want the friendlier version as to know he is not a killer or worst, since we stupidly tend to equate attractiveness with goodness. Even courts in a study were found to give a less severe sentence to good looking people. In other words pretty men can get away with being more masculine and not come off as intimidating.
yea I think they're trying to help inform men what other men/women find attractive so they could adjust their behavior. The problem is if you're genetically lucky with your looks, dating is easy. That guy doesn't have to put any effort in. He walks up to any woman and just says "Hi" and that works 95% of the time. He puts any pic on a dating website, and he'll get 100s of responses easy. But if an average guy does everything right, he still loses out over a good looking man who treats people like assholes. That guy could beat a woman and women still respond positively. Look at Chris Brown.
Its'a me Fossy! I don't think so men can be not attract to women who act a certain way. They can have a particular preference on women not necearly superficial..
I cut my own hair too. Takes a bit of practice, but it's worth it. You feel more put together and save money. Just watch a bucket load of videos on youtube. Buy a trimmer and get two mirrors. I fade myself and everything. I line up myself with a disposable razor and razor blade, however. I won't be able to line up myself with a trimmer without messing up.
Ya man in this day n age lots of women flaunts there body sexually n calls it a body pride n at the same time says men objectifies women if they find a man looking at her sexually, how is man supposed to not get sexually charged n ignore their natural instincts when they sees a half nude chick.i dont get that...are they testing men?or do they actually enjoy to be looked upon sexually secretly so they can feed their ego n need for excessive admiration.cos if it was only about loving your body, you would probably enjoy your body privately at home in the mirror n be proud of it n only strip off when its necessary, like in beaches n swimming pools.why be such a show off n flaunt it every oppurtunity you get. Also women sexually harrassing men n looking at men inappropriately are glorified, celebrated n even encouraged in hollywood..i just dont get how this thing works???
Lets Mash It Up! yeah and women complain thay men are jerks when it's clear that the whole world wants jerks ha ha maybe they will love psychopaths too!
I think there are too many variables that aren't addressed. One thing that plays heavily in my mind is Black men have a stereotype that they are rough, aggressive, have deep voices, very masculine and a lot of women feed into that stereotype. I wonder If I would have still picked the less masculine traits on a white, Indian or Asian guy.
You make a valid point. It'd also apply if the guy they used was skinny and kinda dorky. I think most people would choose the more masculine traits for sure.
No, you are confusing things, masculinity it's not toxic, that you stop doing things you would like to do because you are trying to be masculine it's pretty toxic.
What do you expect, especially since BuzzFeed shows misandristic propaganda consistently? Feminists are probably the biggest hypocrites you'll ever meet throughout your entire life. Their double-standards are unbelievably enormous.
From my experience... When meeting a woman for the first time, typically being that masculine strong figure brings them in and over time you can open up and be more emotional because it's seen as progress and they feel like they are the reason you are able to open up On the flip side... Starting out as that too emotionally available figure comes off as unattractive and you end up being viewed more as a friend. Not trying to be disrespectful but I know women SAY they like that emotionally available guy but if you dont give off a masculine "I got this" , impression...good luck. But hey different strokes for different folks I guess
I agree. I find it a bit overwhelming if a guy is opening up emotionally to me right away, since it takes me a while to open up and build trust. And I know a lot of girls won’t admit it but I’m not ashamed to admit that I do prefer it when a man takes control and gives off an “I got this” vibe.

And no doubt, your ''?LIST'?' was both politically-correct and diplomatic, but not reality. However let's refer to the flip-side, ie ''Divorce'' whereupon a great many women have no qualms about taking their Husband for everything including the clothes on his back, and indeed, the children too: albeit to use as leverage ....... Now tell me I'm wrong!
stewart william no, my list comes from my heart. I wrote it when I was 19 years old. I mean you can "grade" it all you want like you think u know me, but at the end of the day it's what *I* want and it's exactly who I have attracted. I've never been divorced, but I don't believe in taking everything including the children bc women are "more nuturing" and "every child needs his mother". That's BS to me. Listen, I have two brothers. I'm more sympathetic to men than you realize.
+stewart william originally your idea was that all women marry for money. I;m simply explaining to you Im not, and neither are several of my family members or friends bc we all have done well for ourselves and realize money isn;t everything but the intellect and creativity behind it IS. My mom recently turned down a retired NFL player bc she didn't agree with him morally/spiritually and he had erratic behavior and was overly emotional--though he made TONS of money. I;m nearly thirty years old and my opinion has not changed. you can write several paragraphs about what you *think* you know about me personally, but honestly you are wasting your time. my comment stands: I don;t want a man for his money. never have, never will. unless you can prove otherwise based on a fact you know about *me* and not other women, then it's best to just not reply tbh
You should try to READ what is written lady. Your Quote: ''originally your idea was that all women marry for money''. ''No it wasn't'' I never said anything of the sort .... As you well know. So I suggest YOU STOP MAKING THINGS UP that suit your argument!

always be more masculine, it's the most attractive, women don't know what they want, they think they want the guy who's too open and too available but in reality they always chase the mysterious, less available one
Wtf are you talking about. Sexist allert? A woman can talk for herself. And if you dont know what you want thats not because you have a vagina or penis, its simply the indecisiveness of a human being which can have serval reason (havent learned the right way to decide yet, was never expected to decide something big (outside factors), not enough information, too much choice, social conditioning as well as upbringing (be passive, not active), too young (ask a 4 year old to make a difficult decision and he will rather lack to understand the question or doesnt feel like he can decide), or maaany other reason. So dont be so narrow minded.
Also your words downgraded you so hard 😄 because it shows such a strong lack of intelligence and empathy. Very unattractive for a woman, let me tell you, as a woman ;)
I've learned that everybody has a standard for physical appearance. This standard is used to evaluate how clean-cut and attractive you are, and whether or not you should be interacted with. If you fail to meet these standards, the person(s) you're showing interest in will internally dismiss you before you can get a word out. After learning this, I realized that my appearance is essentially the key to the gateway of the social world. It only get's more complicated from there. Socializing is in no way simple. It's one of the most complex and essential skills that I feel everybody should learn.
***** I didn't look into the technicalities of experimentation man. No one should ever look that deep into a BuzzFeed video (they dont even look that damn deep into their videos). I was just pointing out that they had more than one side and used outside sources for survey in this one. Instead of it just being them asking 5 people that work for them what they like, they took it to the Internet and got viewers opinion then actually used the results in the video. Which is wayy more effort than BuzzFeed as ever put into anything else.
It's funny because once in a blue moon they'll have some really good content with experiments or short films, but it just seems like they like the crap they put out more. Definitely shows how money hungry they are.
I feel like the "guy" that immediately had a plan for italian food was more masculine. He figured out what he wanted to do like that *finger snap* I think thats more masculine. He took charge

I was 50/50. Masculinity is attractive but its a turn off when someone is trying to be masculine and afraid they won't look masculine

Well said.
Exactly.
That's exactly what I was thinking...It's attractive when it's natural
totally agree
They should've used someone a bit more average-looking instead of a model. I feel like the results would have been a bit more credible lol
Exactly. He was attractive period...
Look at Chris Brown.
the model is very good looking.

I think there are too many variables that aren't addressed. One thing that plays heavily in my mind is Black men have a stereotype that they are rough, aggressive, have deep voices, very masculine and a lot of women feed into that stereotype. I wonder If I would have still picked the less masculine traits on a white, Indian or Asian guy.
Wow, I never even thought of that. 👍

You make a valid point. It'd also apply if the guy they used was skinny and kinda dorky. I think most people would choose the more masculine traits for sure.

You genuinely make me sick.
Mr Peesky: I'm not very smart and have trouble understanding very basic things.
Also Mr Peesky: I have strong opinions on things I don't understand.
No, you are confusing things, masculinity it's not toxic, that you stop doing things you would like to do because you are trying to be masculine it's pretty toxic.
J A Men don’t do that. That’s a false narrative women have created.
Masculinity isn't all bad. There is good masculinity and toxic, learn the deference. Like there is good feminity and bad
What do you expect, especially since BuzzFeed shows misandristic propaganda consistently? Feminists are probably the biggest hypocrites you'll ever meet throughout your entire life. Their double-standards are unbelievably enormous.
From my experience...
When meeting a woman for the first time, typically being that masculine strong figure brings them in and over time you can open up and be more emotional because it's seen as progress and they feel like they are the reason you are able to open up
On the flip side...
Nope!!!!
I agree. I find it a bit overwhelming if a guy is opening up emotionally to me right away, since it takes me a while to open up and build trust. And I know a lot of girls won’t admit it but I’m not ashamed to admit that I do prefer it when a man takes control and gives off an “I got this” vibe.
Glymos Nope. It takes me time to build trust with anyone. Man or woman

Bad advice
@@ten-ub4xd great advice
I regret to say:
What makes a man attractive to over 90% of women ?
MONEY .. MONEY .. MONEY .. MONEY .. MONEY .. MONEY .. MONEY .. MONEY !
lol Not at all. I wrote out a list and most of it was intellect, care, good health, creativity and a great family

TheUKNutter exactly
I've learned that everybody has a standard for physical appearance. This standard is used to evaluate how clean-cut and attractive you are, and whether or not you should be interacted with. If you fail to meet these standards, the person(s) you're showing interest in will internally dismiss you before you can get a word out. After learning this, I realized that my appearance is essentially the key to the gateway of the social world. It only get's more complicated from there. Socializing is in no way simple. It's one of the most complex and essential skills that I feel everybody should learn.
Haha, school. part of your brain is not even fully developed yet at a school age
FINALLY! An actual, legitimate experiment from Buzzfeed
BURN
It's funny because once in a blue moon they'll have some really good content with experiments or short films, but it just seems like they like the crap they put out more.
