Have the same one. Looks like Lightech has changed the design twice now. I think these ones, (I also chose the Matte finish) are the nicest of them all, and as you said, using the chain guard does not appeal to me. Good Day to you and yours🙂
Just purchased this hugger in matt carbon and followed this video to a 'T'. I purchased a 7mm drill bit and as you said the screws dropped in flush HOWEVER, began turning the screw with "my own washer" and it just keeps turning in the barrel. I apply down force pressure and no way I can hold and stop that from turning. I'm scratching up my barrel now and a hugger costing me £180 sitting on the side lines....love you videos regardless but any advice mate??? Please?
I was having the same problem. I ended up using end nipper pliers to slowly close the sleeve on itself. I left the screw out enough to get the nippers in between the bottom of the screw head and the shoulder of the sleeve, gently squeezed so that it forces the screw up and out, careful to not cut the screw in half, tightened the screw about two turns by hand and repeated that until it stopped. I backed the screw out and followed the rest on the instructions. The screws are m4x-70x40 screws. I bought new ones that are phillip heads at the local Hardware.
Ahhhhhhhh I can’t find one anywhere!!! I only found the polished one on a few sites but I want the matte black. When will you guys have them again in stock??????
We keep one in stock when the distributor has them available. Pretty sure they have a shipment due in soon. Put your email addy in the out of stock notifier on our site and you will get a message when we have it ready to ship. - Brian Van
I bought my tire hugger almost a year ago from power bronze because no body else had any available. But I like the look of this one. Do you guys have these for sale on your website?
We will have this on the site, below is the link. It is available in the matte version we show here as well as a gloss finish. www.sportbiketrackgear.com/lightech-carbon-rear-fender-suzuki-gsx-r1000-17-18/ - Brian Van
Lightech has redesigned the rear fender for the GSXR 1000 since we shot this video. The new one looks a little different but installs the same way. - Van
No, we have some on order now. Go to this listing on our site and put your email address in the out of stock notifier box. When it comes back in you will receive an notification. - Van
Lightech DIDNT send me screws, expanders, rubber washers.....What can I use??????Lowe’s and Pleasants only have rubber anchors. PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP
This is a different look for sure, personally I dig it. End of the day there are great rearset kits for this bike from several brands so a rider has enough options to get what best suits them. - Van
What the fender??? ...Kidding. I LOVE The bike!!! I have the 2017, and don't have all the mods BV has done, but have a few, Spiegler Brake Lines, were so far the best mod yet, well the Lightech Chain Adjusters I seriously recommend as well, and Got to loose that Can Fast, I still haven't have a Sprint Filter P08 F1-85 installed and i woke the engine up even more so, need at least a Yoshi Slip-On---SOON!!! But to answer your question, the bike is Fantastic. It is only about 420 pounds so it's not a lot heavier than a 600, My last bike a 1987 Honda CBR 1000F Hurricane was like 650 or so, was fast in it's day but nothing like this bike. If you get one you won't be sorry, I would wait for the 2019, they are coming with Braided Lines---At least the videos I have seen show Steel Braided Brake Lines, of course if you have about 38,000.00 British Pounds you could get one of 20 of these being made---2019 Suzuki GSX-R1000R Ryuyo, My Dream Bike!!! Check the You Tube Video on that one.
I've done all these mods, put the brocks predator full titanium with flash on, driven bar end guards, new chain, light tech adjusters, speigler lines, vortex chain, GB crash covers, sato sliders, puig levers, dbl bubble windscreen, driven grips, fender eliminator with led turn strip, sprint filter, velocity stacks
Here is a link to it on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/lightech-carbon-rear-fender-suzuki-gsx-r1000-17-19/ Lightech has changed the fender a little bit from the one we show in the video by making it longer. - Van
@STG i got the lighttech rear hugger i love it but once i put it on can i take that crappy rubber flap off that "lol that protects " the rear shock??? Since the hugger shiuld do all the protection of undertail and rear shock......Can i take crappy rubber flap off now ...??? Also what are the best rated rearsets for street and folding case i do go down they dont snap off? Also u said u would call me regaurding my ecu flash please call or leave me a contact # i have been posting my 2018 gsxrr 1000 upgrades on you tibe aswell hope u can check them out

That's a great solution I must say best I've seen thanks STG 👌
This thing looks bad ass on the bike for sure. Lightech came up with a very creative way of mounting this rear fender. - Van
Have the same one. Looks like Lightech has changed the design twice now. I think these ones, (I also chose the Matte finish) are the nicest of them all, and as you said, using the chain guard does not appeal to me. Good Day to you and yours🙂
They updated the design since we did this install. This is a great mod for the Suzuki. - Van
Think we called them one fasteners super nuts at my last shop
Hey Brian! I was looking at this part on your website and it shows 17-22. I assume it would work on a 23? Just wanted to double check. Thanks!
Yes this will also fit the 2023. - Van
still waiting for the L8 version to arrive in Australia, the only thing slower here is the internet. Where is my new Gixxer!!!!

Please?
Use a pair of needle nose pliers to hold the insert by the slots in the top. While holding this use the screw to draw up the expansion insert. - Van

I had the powerbrinze hugger in the bike. Now that I changed the rear tire to a 200, it doesn’t fit. Will this hugger fit for a 200/55. Cheers!!
I have not seen the hugger you mentioned but there is a 200 on this bike with the Lightech hugger. - Van
