Hey man, just installed these. I noticed they say in the instructions now to not use the OEM washer. I don't think the thread locker engages enough with the washer.
I used the washer then stopped using it. When I stopped using it I would put a thin film of grease on the back of the nut to reduce friction between it and the adjuster. - Van

I am using the OEM nut on mine without the washer so the nut threads onto the axle further. If you are concerned about the friction between the nut and the adjusters wipe a thin film of grease on the surface of the adjuster. - Van
I have stopped using the washer and have plenty of clearance. When you install the nut put a thin film of grease on the surface that will contact the chain adjuster. Lightech does offer some low profile nuts but we have not seen them at our distributor here in the US. - Van

I've watched a bunch of your videos and I just had a weird realization. You work on a bike and you look almost squeaky clean when you're done. I work on my bike and I look like I was cliff diving into a pool of used grease. What the heck? You should do a video on how you stay clean.
Brain, It appears that the lighttech adjuster, has the Side Marks for adjustment only "Painted or Stamped" on the adjuster and not actual "Machined Grooves". My Concern is since they do not appear to be Machined they may eventually wear off over time. Can you confirm how the Marks are applied to the adjuster?
The adjustment marks are etched into the body of the adjuster and do not come off. I had these on the 2015 Yamaha R1 which I kept for 3 seasons with these on the bike and the marks did not wear off. This is a quality part IMO. - Van
Good morning Van. I made some thin aluminum washers for these beautiful chain Adjusters. If you want a couple for free let me know. I heard in a future video your not using the washer. The OEM washer is a little thick. Usable but a thinner washer preferred. I couldn't find anything I wanted. This aluminum so I made a couple.
I'm going to get the blue from you guys when available. I might sand down the washer or find a thinner washer. Probably over kill but I'm all about over kill when it comes to my 18 gsxr 1000R in white. Amazing machine
Hey Brian, I put my lightech chain adjuster on ‘17 Gsxr 1000 I put it back together with and without the washer, it seems to do better without it. The locking mechanism on the axle nut doesn’t seem to grab as good with the washer on. Is it okay to not use the washer?
Having some fitment issues on a 2021 zx6r, the sprocket side has a small gap between the b block and the swingarm, while the brake side is all snug and fitting as expected. The b blocks have different part numbers etched in the backs, but appear to be identical in size and shape. When the axle and chain are all back together, the sprocket side (axle nut side) adjuster is not adjustable by hand, the brake side is only slightly better. These seemed great on my test fit and I would love to use them, do you have any other feedback on a 2019+ zx6r install?
I have not installed one of these kits on that model myself. There should have been some printed instructions in the box with an exploded view that should help to identify which block belongs on which side. I would take a look at that and review any other instructions that come with. Another thing you could try is to loosen the rear axle and the mounting bolts for the adjusters (loosen the fasteners for the adjuster just a touch) the try to turn the adjusters by hand. If this makes them easier to turn I would try to retorque the fasteners for the adjusters with the forward most bot first then finish with the blocks. Van! I got some of these adjusters secondhand, but they didn’t come up with the swingarm bolts, so I am using the OEM bolts with blue loctite. Is this ok?
I prefer to have a chain guard on the bike to be safe. Both of my Son Max's bikes have them on. I think I need to get this done on my bike still. - Van

Thanks for the input. One area where Lightech could improve is with the instructions. If they intend for the washer to be deleted then that should be in the instructions. Not sure I love the idea of the nut grinding on the chain adjuster surface with all the tire changes I do. With the washer under the nut the axle nut threads on just far enough for the lock to grab the threads on the axle. I am going to leave the washer on mine and run it. May look for a thinner washer. - Brian Van

that's a pretty cool video, but kinda dumb question right, what are the pro's and cons to using a GP style stand over the spools? to me it looks pretty much the same but then turned around... sorry for the odd question.
When installing this there is no need to re-balance the rear wheel. You would only need to balance the wheel when replacing the tire or if you have a vibration problem you are trying to correct. - Brian Van
Does your gsxr have these micro vibrations that makes your front camrea shut off or shake screws loose above 5000rpm? I dont feel the vibrations in the handle bars. But the front fairing stay and triple micro vibrates like crazy. My gopro goes off from the vibrations. Its mounted on a gopro mirror mount.
on my street bike i still have the mudflap, big ol' fenner.. running the SPV4 200/60's its real difficult yarding the tire out without deflating it, will these lift link doodads provide added lift? gen1 busa .. an inch tire will prolly just roll out, as it is its like wrestling a fookin bear, well a bear cub anyways, they don't shred me, I shred them.... I know I know trim the fenner, so few all stock fenners out there today I kinda wanna just keep it stock . . keep it square looking too so I am not mistaken for some kind of hooligan or something and chased all over Gods creation . . not for me ..

People that say there cosmetic haven't adjusted many chains. It makes adjustments a breeze and tire swaps even better. A pro tip. Never and I mean never buy cheap knock off precision tools or parts. You get what you pay for. I seen knock off for 100 bucks. You'll get exactly that. Not very confidence inspiring

Yes you will still need to loosen the axle to adjust the chain with these installed on the bike. - Van

Yes it is okay to not use the washer. If you go that route I would recommend adding a little grease to the back side of the nut. - Van

What size socket is that
