    That 3rd hole in the tail cover is for the wires to route through then up and though the tail section to the connection points. Then I used the factory zip tie to snug everything together. Came out very clean. Thanks for the video.

      Actually I see that the cover in this video does not have that wire hole that mines came with. I must have a newer version. Just ordered recently.

    Ok very instructional video I was completely baked last Sunday doing this job to my 2020 1000R however.. you did not not that the supplied washers given once tightened all the way down still spin and therefore would rattle. I ended up adding one more to each side but this could have been cured with a slightly thicker washer but they missed that or didn’t care. Still a good kit and thanks for the video !

    Thanks for the vids!! Made that look easy. The kits updated with another hole on the plate to run the wires thru. That tailsection...definitely plastic haha. Velcro comes standard. Lol. I did have a problem with the connector for the plate light where the wire pulled out of the back of the connector but I just pushed the prongs back in. So im not taking it apart for the 4th time. Good vids! Thanks

    I want that eliminator!
    I'll see if I can get my uncle to check the video out since you've got a good, level camera angle. He's the Chief of Police in Hutto, Texas who's a great guy. It's only 30 miles from The Circuit of the America's track, so you know he's going to be seeing the eliminator kits. Irregardless of what anyone cares about jurisdictions, It's so clean of of an eliminator that you know thousands will buy the kit and at least having one Chief sign off on it would be a great start...

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  6 лет назад +1

      That is not a bad idea. IMO as long as the plate is visible and well lit (like the New Rage here) it should be good to go. Is it 100% by the books legal? The answer to that is most likely no. - Van

    My opinion, I think the Hotbodies undertail is a little better looking, sleeker. The Rage does have better location for the lights & license plate, further rearward, and the Rage is a little easier to install.

    Hi Brian ,
    installed TST industires flushmount front signals on the R3. The flash rate is similar to this.
    have just left it like that. should have also ordered the harness converter , plug & play. brother sent it AUSTIN ( USA).

  • @downlowgo_401

    I had to add an extra spacer/washer with the first frame part that uses the two factory bolts. The ones they provided were not thick enough and the frame piece was floating slightly on the collared factory bolt. I could spin the spacer with my finger.. It would have vibrated like crazy. Was an easy fix adding the extra washer, but I shouldn’t have to run to the hardware store when I spend $200 on a plug and play system. Other than that it’s very good

      @@sportbiketrackgear yes, it was an old video I realize that. I had the newer style with the hole in the bottom for the wires so it’s very possible they changed the spacer size. Other than that it’s an awesome kit highly recommended. I did end up coating mine with truck bedliner to give it a stronger finish against rock chips

    @Vance - I would like to see a rear lamp (brake) light with the same dimension as OEM, but with internal LED turn signals integrated. Now that would be a huge seller. It would be 100% legal in every state and clean-up the rear at the same time.

    • @digitalorgy3784
      @digitalorgy3784 3 года назад +1

      I used a smoked replacement tail light with integrated signals only smoked when bike is off so it’s legal. The light is by Xtasy. Then I used this kit for the undertail and plate and didn’t use the ugly white signals that flash too fast lol. Why would you make white signals when the look is to black out the undertail ? Durrrrr

    Man that looks AWESOME! Too bad those kits are illegal here in germany, they'd probably call a SWAT Team on me and impound my bike if they just see me sit on it. Then again it would probably look a bit stupid with our license plates (fun fact: the Motorcycle license plates are called "Kuchenblech" (baking sheet) here because...well because they're pretty huge. But at least we don't need one in the front! That would look *REAL* stupid)
    One thing I'd maybe change is to actually angle the license plate so it faces directly backwards. One of the things we have to do here in germany and it may sound silly but I think that's the right way to go. That it looks to me the police is going to have trouble reading the license plate and could just go about and stop you to read it, maybe give you a fix-it ticket (depending on state laws of course). I don't want to make their job harder than it already is.
    Also if I may add, the flashing rate of the rear indicator could not just be for looks but also mandated. (Again something we have to do here in Europe. A lot of people don't pass tech inspection because the indicator is flashing too fast when they convert to LED's, I don't know why that's a problem as long as it flashes but I don't ask too many questions)

      LukeTheMentalGent das Nummernschild ist schon der Hammer 🔨

    • @TES99911
      @TES99911 6 лет назад

      LukeTheMentalGent not in Europe. Just in Germany. No bs like that in most places. You can put a tail tidy, remove number light, whatever and get the loudest exhaust possible and it is not a problem.

    • @lukethementalgent2676
      @lukethementalgent2676 6 лет назад +1

      No, technically in all of europe if your bike is an EU-Model it has to accord to EU-Regulations. Which for example means that rear indicators *have* to be at least 180mm apart which is definitely not the case in this kit.
      In the UK as far as I know there is also a minimum indicator spacing which will make you fail the MOT as it will here in Germany, however the police will barely bat an eye or just lift their finger at you unlike here.
      To my knowledge Norway is even worse about this stuff than we are here in Deutschland, definitely not jealous of those guys.
      It's like some californians saying "Two Bros mufflers are legal here", that's just not true. It very clearly states that they are for closed course use only. Just because police doesn't care or that there aren't any serious repercussions for not following regulations doesn't make it legal at all, just feasible.

    • @TES99911
      @TES99911 6 лет назад

      LukeTheMentalGent I live in Ireland and there isn't an MOT or anything like that. Most people ride with tiny number plates so they don't get caught by the cameras or cops. Also in UK mot the emissions aren't tested so you can put the loudest exhaust possible. Nobody checks indicator spacing. The only thing that matters is that you actually have indicators, MOT for bikes is extremely basic compared to cars. It's shit that you get punished for having some fun on your bike in Germany, but Germany isn't all of Europe.

    • @lukethementalgent2676
      @lukethementalgent2676 6 лет назад

      Oh you learn to live with it (could be a lot worse right?), I don't mind having a tastefully noisy exhaust. There is a difference between a nice sound and just plain loud which many people tend to forget sadly, that's probably what got us here in the first place. And owning an '06 GSX-R, the Indicator fuss is also none of my concern. The only thing I'd want to change honestly would be the size of my license plate but that is definitely not going to happen.
      Then again Ireland isn't all of europe either but a lot (if not most) of the countries here in europe do have the flashrate for indicators mandated for example and that's all my original statement was about. The Isle of Man is part of europe too after all and those guys don't even have speed limits ;)

    Outstanding tutorial !!
    Just picked up a '21 and did/doing the install today of this and after everything is buttoned up, I'm seeing a substantial gap between that plate and the fairing. Enough to actually see that dog bone bracket and some wires (since I ran wiring through the hole in the bracket and not around the side like he did). I have the washers installed on the bracket (bracket>washer>frame) and the bolts tightened down, double checked all other bolts, placement of everything, and I can't see why I'm getting such a gap. • @sportbiketrackgear

      It will still flash, if the flash rate is too fast you can install a resistor. Here is a link to the resistors on our site: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/new-rage-cycles-dual-load-equalizer/

      @@sportbiketrackgear I already have the Hotbodies one, Blue to match the bike, but I have the same smoked Integrated Brake Light with Turn signals, I wired the Hot Bodies LED's and also got a Signal Flasher Relay so I got the Hyper Flash under control, I HATED THAT!!!! Flash so fast as to be a steady Light, Anyway, point is the Hotbodies signals and the signals from the Brake Light work together and look really good. Thank You BV as I bought the HB Undertail from you.

      I own STG, New Rage is one of the product lines we offer on the site and I have no involvement beyond being a dealer for the products. Personally I dig this kit, we have others on the site if this one is not your style. That said New Rage fender elimns have been selling very well since we added them to the site a couple months back. - Van

    Am I the only one that's blown away by the price. An LED light, a few pieces of stamp steel that have been painted and a couple screws for $200. And the LED turn signals are really not that attractive. Should have been a smoke lens on them or something. Sticks out like a sore thumb.

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  6 лет назад +1

      IMO this is a fair price for the kit when you consider the development time it takes to get the kit ready to manufacturer etc... New Rage uses OEM style connectors with quality harness construction on their kits. In just 3 months New Rage Fender Eliminators are one of the best sellers we offer for more than one model bike. Some people like chocolate while others prefer vanilla my brother. - Van
