- Let me know what you think of the 4 cars that I have driven.... which one is your favourite. After this day I think it is clear that I need to get myself some track experience!
Make sure you're following me on instagram - / auto_social_uk - Авто/Мото
Very honest review, and bonus for accepting you couldn't get enough feel from the Yaris on your own.
On that subject, the Yaris is a very precise machine, it doesn't sway you the same way a Mini GP does, but it is really fast and it eats up corners like they're nothing, thanks to its 4WD and very competent chassis. It lacks the sound and all that drama (stuff that you find on the Competizione, the GP and the I20N), but it delivers like none of them do.
Absolutely, that’s the thing. I will never pretend I’m something I’m not 😅 I know nothing about track cars and that’s why I was disappointed but I know there is more to it! Exciting to go and see a GR owner at some point 😁
Great review...We all love hot hatches...Keep them coming
They're all great little cars but the i20N has won my heart!
I think you could tell it did mine too!
I enjoy your reviews, they are open, honest and out of the 'ordinary', what most people expect.
Thank you! That is exactly what I am trying to achieve
Brilliant video, I think you have the best job ever , keep up the good work 👏
Thank you - I am very lucky!
Lol, loved your vid as always. I gotta admit I love the look of the I20, and it's practical. Your scare moments at the end were great.
hahahah got to share all the realness!
Eagerly awaiting the arrivial of my i20N here in Australia. Unfortunately, Australian deliveries have been delayed again - until October. The reviews coming out of the U.K. though suggest it'll be worth the wait.
How exciting!! That's ok October will be here in no-time! I'm jealous!
In the Uk, but same. Ordered mine on the 13th of August and it might not arrive until early November, all the praise in the media is amazing to see. It really confirms my choice, but also makes me even more impatient. I've been trying to forget I ordered one tbh, tying to enjoy my modified Fiesta while I still have it.
If you dont mind me asking...whats the price for the i20n here in Oz when it does arrive?
@@mauricegeerlof1738 About $36 000 depending on paint etc. The cars are in Australia now.
@@shaungowing9468 thanks. Will go check them out.
Another Awesome Video,Everything ,Theres nothing rehearsed ! Its Brilliant Tish ACTUALLY gives a review thats so honest,Her first thoughts.Im abit too old for this stuff .But it reminded me what im missing👏👏👏👏
Thank you 😄 you’re never too old!
Great video Tish, one thing that surprised me though was you putting the Abarth in last place cos the big smile on your face compared to the other cars looked like you enjoyed that the most, but do agree with you though, I would have the I20N over the others as well, keep up the great work
I think it’s because the Abarth is a people pleaser with its exhaust but realistically when it comes to build quality on track it was all over the place 😂😂😂😂
What a brilliant honest review! Proper consumer expectations followed real honest reactions. Please do more.
Thank you Stephen, I will definitely try to do more like this!
Ordered my i20N a couple of days ago. I like the N blue but I went for polar white with the black roof in the end. Cannot wait. Great video btw, and you are gorgeous 😍
How exciting!! Thank you very much :)
You mention the fact that you had to adjust the seat in each car you got into - that’s because a lot of men drive too far back consequently having their arms at full stretch which is totally wrong but they think it looks cool - bollocks ! You only have to look at the bend in racing drivers arms or rally drivers arms - and they are the experts !! 👍well presented video. My Yaris arrives Friday 29th July - after being told (by Vantage Toyota) all GR4 s for 2021 and 2022 have been allocated and you have to wait till 2023 !!! I sourced a 500 mile one in Pearl White - can’t wait !
Great natural delivery in this video. Keep up those honest opinions don't follow the sheep. Thanks for bringing back some happy memories of hooning around there. Yes the Hill Route can make you feel a bit queezey. I used to work for a company that did a lot of car launch promo work for Vauxhall
Thank you so much for watching :)
Absolutely amazing VLOG/Review! Each vehicle that was test drived, had interesting responses and character/charisma about them! I personally liked the Competizone the most on the track, as it seemed like a true beast to handle! But the i20N, seemed like a genuine all-rounder in all areas! I've noticed that your subscriber base has grown significantly, since I subscribed only a few months ago! Hard work always pays off! This channel certainly is getting better & better with each and every review/VLOG! Keep doing what you're doing! Can't wait for the next episode dropping soon! 👏🏻👍🏻
Thank you so much! I have worked very hard over the last few weeks and it is being reflected in my subscribers. Road to 10K here I come!
You're lucky to compare these hot hatches back-to-back! Millbrook is where they filmed James Bond roll over his Aston Martin DBS in Casino Royale. Speaking of Aston Martins, its insane that the Valkyrie hypercar was following you at 7:28!!
I was incredibly lucky! There was lots of cars to test out there… it was a little overwhelming!!
this was such an intresting vid !
I’m glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Good video. Some nice cars, Got a 17 plate Abarth Comp myself and love it. I’d take them all apart from the mini really don’t like it 👍🏻
Hyundai killing it at the moment, like you said I also have an attraction to their N division
I followed my friends Comp the other day and it was absolutely brutally loud from behind 😂😂 btw…. I’m going to call them ‘comp’ from now on as it stops me from butchering the name!
@@AutoSocialUK yes the monza exhaust is brilliant, been so loud for me today with the windows down. & yes did giggle at the different ways you attempted it 😂 that’s the way forward! All the best
Great video Tish and it looks like it was a fun day out networking for the growth of your channel! I suspect Toyota have had to cut costs down with the interior for the GR Yaris, as they spent most of the development costs on the engine and the 4WD system (+carbon roof etc), otherwise they would struggle to sell a 'Yaris' at £40k - even if its built in the same bespoke production plant that produced the Lexus LFA 😅 I guess the engineers knew that it was built to be thrashed on rallystages!
That is true!! I heard that for every GR they built, it looses money…. I don’t know if that’s true. Clearly goes to show ALOT of development went into the drive.
The Yaris GR is a really fun hot hatch that the United States is really missing out on. Sadly, it isn’t available in the United States, but it should.
Loved the review, I considered all of these cars when deciding which one to get. But the noise and character the Abarth Competizione gives is what did it for me. Great review, really enjoyed it!
Awesome! Have you seen that’s what I have now?!
Oh I didn't know I'm still new - that's awesome!! I've just found the video on your channel, I'll give it a watch
I20n my favourite
Keep up the reviews they are a pleasure to watch
Thank you Nathan x
I must say you have beautiful eyes and you do wonderful reviews very enjoyable and informative
There will be a Toyota Corolla GR coming to the US and A and Canada where the Yaris GR isn’t sold.
It may have the same powertrain as the Yaris GR. Some say it may have some more power under the hood, and some say the Corolla GR won’t be AWD like the Yaris GR, but we’ll have to wait until at least next year to see the specs for the Corolla GR.
We will have to wait and see!
I am really surprised that you thought the Abarth handled worse than all of them. I've driven the absolute nuts off my 595 Comp and I've never felt like it's getting out of shape. Do you remember whether you were driving with the TTC on or off? With it on it's a bit weird, it doesn't handle like a normal FWD car or one with an LSD. It's a bit unpredictable but without it it's fine. I'm test driving a GR Yaris on Monday so it'll be interesting to compare. I get that as a full package the Abarth comes last though - it doesn't have much going for it other than the fun factor!
Awesome video, Tish! It looks like you had a blast hooning around those hatches on the track! Having driven the the GP, I found the GP to be a huge disappointment. It’s way too “track car,” which just isn’t good for a Mini. And the carbon fender flares - no, just no. Plus I thought the shift programming was absolutely heinous. Which is a shame, because the standard JCW is my favorite small hot hatch. I’d love to try out a GR Yaris one day. Hopefully the upcoming GR Corolla will be just as good!
Hahaha I like the carbon fender flares 🙊🙊🙊
Great video really enjoyed watching it, the Hyundai I 20N is The car for me so much so I ordered one yesterday I’m so excited I literally can’t sit still
OH HOW EXCITING! When is it due?
@@AutoSocialUK It’s a three month wait and could be even longer than that
good video..like you my fav was the i20n nice colour as well..must have being fun and scary !! to drive on the track
I think it’s such a lovely colour but I’m worried it will become me way to comment as more people buy the i30 and i20N
First time I’ve watched your video. Enjoyed it!
Thank you Wayne!!
Great review and 🤣!👍👍💞
So nice to see you just presenting naturally one of your best keep it up well done, I think i liked it because you weren't trying to sell a Particular brand just tell it as it was
Thank you Rob! A few more videos like this coming up 😁 glad you enjoyed it!
Great video...
I'm an Abarth fan and have owned 2.
Looks like you had a great day, i would be very interested to drive the Toyota GR, all great cars but somehow lacking the specialness that Abarth gives!!!
Ive recently done the track experience at Thruxton which was fantastic...
Keep up the good work.
Not much has the personality of an Abarth that is for sure!!
Brilliant review......You have a good presentation style....most reviewers fire out statistics like a machine gun....much more fun your way.👍👍
thank you so much!
Well done on a great review of today's hot hatches. Very brave to show the outtake which made me giggle. So, a lesson at Goodwood maybe to increase your confidence? Thanks for sharing
It was very scary! I think the first time they should send you out with someone sitting beside you 😂 at least I will be prepared for next year!! Yes I think I might book a lesson on track!
Really good review quality work welldone lass keep it up
Thanks, will do!
The i20n diff isn’t locking its only a mechanically limited slip diff
Not sure what criteria you are using to judge this vehicles? I have a lambo, Aston, Lotus Exige and my GR will decimate each of them on a wet B road!
I completely understand that, I explained that I definitely would have benefited from learning how to drive it properly
I'm loving the hot hatches that are being released lately, I just love the GR Yaris but worried it will be on of those hyped up dream drives and disappointment and under estimations of what you thought.
That mini gp just seems an absolute animal 😁 love it. Great video as always tish and your reactions on track in the vlog at the end 🤣🤣
Would love for you to test a GR and see what you think!
@@AutoSocialUK wish I could get hold of one 😁
I actually can't believe people think the GR is not playful enough, clearly you are not taking of TC and not really knowing how to get the most out of it. I've had many hot hatches and this is the most playful!!
I mean…. That is literally what I say in the video though 😂😂😂
GP3 and GR Yaris I believe it's handling combined with performance. And maybe need public road for that. Have learnt from my Picanto though, may not be slow but has it the grip and good brakes and minimal body roll. Could push my Panda a lot harder.
I’m looking forward to someone teaching me to drive a GR properly! ☺️
thank for sharing tish i like the i120 n wicked my car is rubbish i might lease a car soon love your video
Don’t ever think you have a ‘rubbish’ car. You have to remember that if it gets you from A to B, then it’s a great car! I miss my Up! Sometimes because it was so much cheaper to run than the Abarth!
Great video, Tish! I was really interested to hear your opinion between the four of them, and what you liked the most. All of them seem fun to drive in their own way!
Thanks Sam! It was good fun and already looking forward to next year!
Good to hear your views on the Yaris.
I was getting rather fed up of all the over the top reviews.
Pleased you did not rate it the best
thank you Billy, I understand why real enthusiast rave about them but it proves that they're not for everyone!
Hope this comment helps with the RUclips algorithm to promote this video more Tish! If you do ever bump into a youtuber called 'JB CTR' or Imran from 'Evolve Automotive', both of them have GR Yariss with aftermarket exhaust systems which frees up some sound. I think its one of those strict requirements where manufacturers had to put OPF filters in for emissions regulations 😬
Evolve is the same company that tuned an M5 to 1000hp. Carwow and AutoTopNL have used it a few times.
@@DaveDVideoMaker Yep thats right, 'Eventuri' is their other company that specialises on carbon intake systems
Thank you 😁 I follow JB CTR so will get in contact with him and see if there is a collab we can do!
Really brilliant video, Tish, I loved it, especially the outro! Priceless! 👍
Looks like Hyundai have really kicked it up a few notches lately. The i20N is definitely the one I'd pick out of these four cars as well.
Maybe you can review the Ioniq 5 in the future? That's an amazing car too, although it lacks the sound of ICE cars. That's what we'll miss most when we all go electric! Progress?
Hi Phil! Definitely want to get my hands on the Ioniq 5 soon! I think I might need to wait until they’re not so new out ☺️
I now understand why owners clubs have torn you apart. Anyone who works in the motor industry know what Millbrook proving ground is and what the SMMT is.
You need to push the yaris to see what it can do. The more you give it, the more it gives back. To bimble around is missing the point...
I could not agree more! That is exactly the reason I knew I was missing out! Looking forward to being a passenger in one with someone that knows what they’re doing!!
plus i didnt no you was a racing driver tish you done fantastic
Hahahah I’m definitely not! I need some proper lessons!
Okay Тиш, the hot hatches are;
Abarth 595: sub zero
Hyundai i20N: cool (the first Hyundai to go into the cool section)
Mini GP: cool
Toyota Yaris GR: cool
👌🏼
First Hyundai to go into cool section? What about i30N, Veloster N, Kona N, Ioniq 5, Elantra N?
@@JohnLee-db9zt Most Hyundai’s are uncool with some exception.
@@DaveDVideoMaker That’s your lone opinion.
I love a big exhaust tish
Don’t we all Roger 😉
Bonjour … il aurait faite l’essai avec une yaris track et non une premium …? C’est trop souvent le cas ….???
Ow.... You've missed the Polo GTI, as a smaller hot hatch. The Golf is a bigger car these days... Would have loved to know how that compared to the others
unfortunately no Polo GTi there that day! Hopefully I can get to try one out soon!
When you say that the Abarth is not really designed for that (I guess you mean track use) should worry Abarth as they built their name on building track cars. A lot of people overlook their shortcomings as a road car with the 'excuse' that they are built for track use so are not meant to be good road cars. I guess they are just not great at either road or track, but they are just great fun.
I would care to agree they're not good at either but still have fantastic character! The best cars are never actually 'the best'
Great reviews x
thank you Andrew!
I guess you prefer “playful” cars, the yaris is a more no nonse/all business hawt hatch
Yes you probably could say that.
Millbrook proving ground.....looked like fun 👍
It was super fun…. Once I was done being scared!
Test drive a jcw 2018 one
Great video Tish
thanks Robert!
I think the GR was lost on you during this test day - I have one if youd like any more info / a closer look at one 👌
Lost understatement 😂
I agree and although the GR offers performance on tap and upfront I've found/been learning it really gives that extra when you get into it and learn and trust what it can do (whilst also treating it with a bit of respect). Wasn't until I tracked it at Curborough I got to understand it more and I've got a ways to go but now love sport mode.
I'm set up to see one with an owner, looking forward to seeing it at it's full potential.
@@AutoSocialUK no worries - if you get let down or want to see one that's had a few "changes" made to it please get in touch 👌
Surely everyone's opinion should be respected equally. Not everyones priority is driving round a track every weekend. I have a gr on order but so tempted by the i20n as a fun everyday car. Great, honest review by the way 👍
If you like the i20n, have you tried the i30n, amazing cars and bit more power and noise to the i20n
I haven’t yet but I am hoping to soon! I know I would love it!! ☺️☺️☺️
@@AutoSocialUK we are having a meet next weekend at caffeine and machine, should be loads there from the i30n owners club uk 😉😉
@@gavinlewis3049 but the i20N is more fun to drive. Also its pretty same speed than an i30N around a track :) if u got long straights the i30N is faster, but around the corner its no competition for the i20n
Is the Yaris setup for fast lap time and not tail out fun? The circuit pack may not be the best for fun
Likely! It also didn't help that i wasn't confident on the route
Your comments on the Yaris are similar to mine. A bit underwhelming... I do have a Mitsubishi Evo though, so 🤔
Did you feel much difference between the comp and Turismo?
I actually genuinely did. I have a comp now, it feels quite a bit more punchier
I have a 2022 turismo thinking about a remap? Is it worth it
I love minis
The GP is the king of all Minis! What do you think of the styling?
@@AutoSocialUK thew attractive but im more into the 2014 mini Cooper s we have had alot of minis in our family we have had, the s, JCW, convertible and I forgot the other lol
Great video and looks like a great day, I have never been impressed with the GR Yaris I just find the whole car external looks and interior just very uninteresting.
Glad it wasn’t just me 😅 it certainly lacks the theatre of the other cars!
GR Yaris needs a proper exhaust on it. It's such a let down
For sure!!
Spot the Valkyrie.. 7:29
No, you're spot on. The i20N is a special car and better than the Yaris GR all round IMO. I'll be buying one over the Yaris to race.
Glad you agree!
3 cylinders - probably biggest drawback sound wise but l believe ( my mate has one) they sound good inside admittedly fake !
I20N 🤟
Glad you agree!
oh why hello there.. easy on the eyes this morning
Thank you 🥺
@@AutoSocialUK nah no sad faces, that was a compliment :)
🤭😔💘💘💘🤰😉
You can't drive !!!!
MINI ! 😍
