Sports bikes (crotch rockets) - Go play on the road. Cool for tight turns, wheelies, high speeds, etc. Do so in short spurts, you're body is going to pay for it. The longer the ride, the more uncomfortable it's going to be. Be considerate if you have a passenger. If after 1 hour your butt goes numb, your passenger went numb 30 minutes ago. Cruisers - enjoy the ride. Throttle therapy. Clear your head, glide around the road like an ice skater. Just enjoy the magic of the road. 650 - your butt will go number after a couple of hours. 900 - bout 3 hours. 1100 and up, make a day of it. You aren't running on the razor's edge of the road with a cruisers. You are becoming one with the road and enjoying the zen of it. Heavy Touring Cruisers - it's a way of life. You spend as little time in a cage (normal vehicle) as possible because you really can't stand them. You adapt and learn how to ride in all weather conditions. (as long as you aren't an elitists prick) You give the wave to anyone on 2 or 3 wheels because you love seeing fellow riders on the road, aka family. (this even includes mopeds and bicycles as they are potential future motorcycle owners).
Great analysis. I am a motorist but hardly use the car, cyclist life long, long distance Audax and touring, did End to End back in year 2000, there are cyclist then there are young teenagers riding any old how doing wheelies etc, they are in law cyclist as well and we are then broad brushed....but really. Then I have my Triumph Speedmaster and I do around 6000 mls a year biking. You have a good attitude, wish more were like you. When biking through busy areas I am watching out what is going on all the time, people do make mistakes but some love to put it on line from the dashcam without a thought that people are human.
I had a Royal Enfield Meteor 350. Single Thumper! After 40,000 km. Two years! Chronic Wry Neck (Stiff Neck) No more Royal Enfield. I cancelled my RE Super Meteor 650. Those nasty vibrations, something ROYAL ENFIELD is known for! Therefore I purchased a Japanese KAWASAKI VULCAN 650 No regrets! Greetings from sunny tropical THAILAND
My only gripe about this bike is that it sounds like a small 250 sport bike or a scooter. Wish they could have made it sound like a real cruiser and not a moped. Bike looks great other wise. And yes I know it has a sport bike engine but still come on.
I have 2023, great bike but fact they havent updated anything beaides adding gear to digital since 2015 is sad.... no led, no better exaust or engine updates
As a happy owner of a '21 Vulcan S I'm glad to see some love and respect from an objective review. I've had my share of sneering comments from traditional cruiser riders and that's all well and good I guess. While it may not have the "character" of a traditional V-twin the KVS runs practical, reliable, and lotsa fun on the road without breaking the bank on purchase price and maintenance.
I have a Triumph Speedmaster, I wouldnt sneer at anyones bike no matter what they ride. These are just rude ignorant people not everyone can afford or justify teens of thousands or more. I like the Vulcan S and was considering it a few years ago, I bet I could have saved a few grand and would have enjoyed riding it just as much. You dont have to spend fortunes to enjoy biking, and generally I only bimble about on the Speedy 55-65 in general anyway. Odd ocasion I have shot up to 80 or just over on overtakes for about 2 seconds then shut off to the speed limits. No wish to kill myself or anyone else.
What? It does NOT sound like a cruiser at all. It sounds like you’re about to mow the lawn. Don’t get me wrong. This bike is awesome for what it is - but it definitely has bipolar disorder and doesn’t really know what it wants to be.
Loud pipes? Important. Change the horn instead! And LED headlights. And non rubbery flimsy taillights. Maybe the seat too. Did I forget the engine crash bar. Still enough CASH for mufflet, bespoke go ahead. The Septuagenarian Johnny BikeSanooK KAWA Vulcan Rider since Dec 2023.
CFMOTO were first to offer a free 4yr warranty in the UK Sinnis offer 7yrs Kawasaki offered it at extra cost previously. Great video sounds like you enjoyed the experience.
Question..... When you buy a new bike... they say there is a break - in period on the first 1000 KM's. why in all the videos I have watched to learn about the bikes, everyone takes the rev's way above the "break-in" levels of 4-6 thousand? Is the break-in part just bull-shit??
I have a 2017 Vulcan S and actually I love it. But sometimes that bike is too ordinary for me. I love cruising around and I love it that the Vulcan S can corner. But every time I see a Harley or an Indian I wanna change the bike. BUT they're expensive in Germany. I don't wanna complain about the Vulcan S. The problem is just in my head :D
In America the warrentee for this bike is just 12 months limited. Worse warrentee I've ever seen. You can buy longer but as it comes it comes with just 12 months.
Every one says it a beginner bike. Absolutely not true. And if that brit thinks it sounds like a cruiser he needs to rife a real cruiser. Way to much power for beginners and thee throttle is was to touchy for beginners. Riding for over 55 years and ridden lots of brands. This is no beginners bike in any since.
Simply for the riding position. Lower to the ground, feet forward. Cruiser ergos, yet sporty performance. I have a Ninja 650R and Versys 650 at my 2nd home. I'd like to add a custom Vulcan S into one of my garages.
Is the price on the same level tho? I've checked it out yesterday and personally not fan of the bright red on it. I wonder if it will have color variants
They have 3 different seats for the Vulcan S , high, medium and low for different weight for the rider! My pegs are in the forward position with the low seat and I'm very comfortable on it! I'm 6'3" at 215 lbs
Unbeatable for 7k, the bike can look really good with mods especially a puig batwing. It's a bike you can thrash without losing your licence. The new Indian scout is more than twice the price and only just a tiny bit quicker.
@mithrandirthegrey7644 I'm not talking top speed...the Indian does 0-60 in 3.8 the vulcan 4.2. The Indian does 0-100 in 13.2 the vulcan 14. No noticeable difference and the vulcan is lighter and easier to throw around, plus more reliable with 4 years warranty. The Indian looks better but not worth twice the price...you could get a vulcan and another bike.
I think they are quicker than a lot of cruisers but that 180 Ptwin sound just takes me out of it. You should try a Vtwin to compare if the opportunity pops up.
I have this bike, brilliant little machine. The Cafe screen looks gorgeous but I had to take it off, the booming and buffeting on my helmet felt like a rave because of it to the point that less than an hour on the highway at 110 kph had my ears ringing slightly even with ear plugs, now the air flow is clean and infinetly quieter. Get a K&N high flow air filter in there and the engine vibrations will smooth out quite a bit at low RPMs
Interesting so the filter makes a noticeable difference? If you want a good looking front end instead of the cafe screen I recommend the puig batwing with a wind deflector from amazon mounted on to that..looks good 👍
A bike for 7k with cheap parts and easy ride is better than 18k that you are afraid to ride or scratch.
Hell I’d be scared to scratch a 7k bike
That is so true.

Best fun review I have ever seen. You're hilarious 😂 Bike is awesome! You sold me on this bike. 🏍
what is that bolt just spinning at the back like that? Won't that just shear itself off over time and end up in someones windscreen?
i love this bike alot and hoping to own one someday
Great review been looking at these now for a while I had a 350 meteor first bike at 68 past me test 2 years now so me thinks will get this for sure 🥂

Same drivetrain as Ninja. High rpm bike. Kawi doesn’t put much effort into their products
also that engine has been around for years and has proven to be bullet proof. you've got to abuse it to break it
Driven with ease, obviously a seasoned rider...............
This is one of those bikes that is just for everyone. It has a great look, nice engine and it is also comfortable for taller riders.

Many people don't want a load obnoxious exhaust and like the sound, each tovtheir own

Yamaha has the Bolt, with a V-twin and belt drive. Honda has Rebel and Shadow models . Suzuki C50. Other than that, there's the big heavy cruisers.
Love my 2021 Vulcan 650!
It isn’t the standard exhaust system - it is the mod.
CFMOTO were first to offer a free 4yr warranty in the UK Sinnis offer 7yrs Kawasaki offered it at extra cost previously. Great video sounds like you enjoyed the experience.

No it’s not BS. Everyone just rides their bike differently
Is it good for someone who is 6ft 2

Royal Enfield also do their 650 Super Meteor and Shotgun.

Not sure why anyone would choose this bike over the versys . It just seems to be a better bike overall
Simply for the riding position. Lower to the ground, feet forward. Cruiser ergos, yet sporty performance.

Been lookin harley dynas past couple days, feel like that is where I am going if bagging a cruiser. 2002 or 2017 if can get a good price.
The vulcans just a different ninja hiding in a cruiser frame, it likes to sit higher in the rpms than other cruisers really
Come and ride my original proper rocket roadster and see if you like it 👍👍
You launch that Vulcan really easily, well done.
I'm actually waiting for Moto Morini Calibro (bagger version). It's this bike with belt drive and, for me of course, better look.
Is the price on the same level tho? I've checked it out yesterday and personally not fan of the bright red on it. I wonder if it will have color variants
I'd be interested to see what you think about the rebel.
Personally was considering getting a Indian Scout Bobber but this does have me thinking
Big price difference
What is that rattling about above the rear (right) foot peg?
wondering if its the camera mount...
They have 3 different seats for the Vulcan S , high, medium and low for different weight for the rider!
My pegs are in the forward position with the low seat and I'm very comfortable on it!
I'm 6'3" at 215 lbs
That is simply great. Overall to me this is a very good cruiser, not just an entry level one. :) Drop by to check my content. Cheers.
You have an aftermarket exhaust on that Vulcan!
Because it’s the performance model. It comes with it
Unbeatable for 7k, the bike can look really good with mods especially a puig batwing. It's a bike you can thrash without losing your licence. The new Indian scout is more than twice the price and only just a tiny bit quicker.
Top speed is not really a good comparison. The Indian scout bobber has over 100 HP and 83 ft-lbs of torque.
@mithrandirthegrey7644 I'm not talking top speed...the Indian does 0-60 in 3.8 the vulcan 4.2. The Indian does 0-100 in 13.2 the vulcan 14. @@ZXspectrum..And this lovely Vulcan is a two seater.
how is the T/C on this
TC on a 60+ BHP 500 pound bike?
Do you need an app for knowing the best time for getting water, too?
I think they are quicker than a lot of cruisers but that 180 Ptwin sound just takes me out of it. You should try a Vtwin to compare if the opportunity pops up.
180 p twins sound horrible
