You nailed it with this video. While everyone else is doing "look at me" content, you've allowed the very people who make up the town, tell us in their own words why they love this little corner of the earth they have chosen to call home. Amazing work!
I really enjoyed the local content too. Wood Roasted coffee, now that is an amazing art! This reminded of the TV show Island Diaries, Last time I was in Atlin was about 1985, (finding the warm springs was a fun thing to do) now I really would like to back and my wife will too after watching this! Very well done!!

Man Dustin. You hit it out of the park with this one! Amazing interviews. Love to see residents that are proud of where they live and look after what was left for them to take care of. She really cares about what she does and the town it self as well as its heritage. I’m not a coffee drinker but the entire process was cool. I’m sure it has to smell great there in the morning.
I just realized, reading your comment, that it’s her music Dustin plays during part of the video. Emily will replace the lost mines revenue to Atlin with her smile, bright personality and chocolate fuelled by Philippe’s coffee. How lucky is Atlin to have such great entrpreneurs❤
There are some wickedly interesting communities in the North. We experienced some of them on our recent trip through BC Yukon and Alaska. Like the young lady said, people in these communities are there for different reasons than the majority of people. We found that same thing when talking to people in these places. Certainly not for everyone, but the people that live in these places are definitely interesting, and their characters make the place interesting Looking forward to seeing more of your travels
This was great to see because we live in Atlin. Such a beautiful place to live with beautiful people! My husband makes French press coffee (with Atlin coffee of course). We don't like the taste of paper filters at all, so there's always a bit of sediment in the bottom of the cup. It's something that we get used to with awesome tasting coffee 😊
Thanks for having some coffee with me this morning. Another great adventure and another place we would never get to enjoy without you going there. Keep up the great work, I look forward to next weekend.

Awesome episode......Atlin is one of the coolest places I have ever visited. Spent a year cruising the Yukon and went to Atlin a few times. It's one of those places you can't get enough of. Your episode brings back many memories from my travels in 2017-18. I forget the name of the lady that owned the yellow and red aircraft(Citabria) on floats at the beginning and she took a pic of me standing on one of the floats. I lived in the Yukon Territory for most of my life and made it to Atlin exactly once. If anyone wonders why it is for the same reason an old guy working on the Dempster Peel fiver ferry gave me decades back when I said I lived in Dawson. ‘I always wanted to make it as far south as Dawson, maybe one of these years I’ll get there’. 😂 It’s a northern thing I guess…
It wasn't my morning coffee but my after-dinner coffee that I enjoyed with your episode today. And what an incredible episode! The history, the stories, the lives you brought to our screens... Another masterpiece, Dustin, and thank you for sharing it with us.
Great video. FYI, not sure who told her, but Manitoulin Island in Lake Huron is the largest lake island in the world at 2,766 km2 (1,068 sq mi), not Teresa Island in Atlin Lake. Teresa Island is 159.35 km2 (61.53 sq mi), which makes it roughly the 23rd largest lake island in the world. Still relatively large, but about 17x smaller than Manitoulin. Maybe/probably it's the largest in BC?
Probably said this before but this is my favorite episode to date, they just keep getting better. Thanks for bringing this story to us, it really made my day. A very special video of very special people in a very special place. I hope I can visit some day and I hope they have internet sales for the chocolates and the coffees.
So glad you had a chance to do an episode including the coffee roaster! My great friend Kodey lives there and sends coffee to me. Philippe and his family are close friends and they do lots of adventures together. Planning a trip to visit them one summer!
Worked for Ben Ginter Construction as a Master Mechanic while building the Carcross to Skagway road (Klondike Hwy) along the Tutshi Lake section. One of my mechanics was born and raised in Atlin. His mother was the town nurse and father was a retired miner. Jesse James was his name. He invited me and a few others to spend a weekend in Atlin. Partied at the warm spring and local bar in town. Visited abandon ruins of old mining sites where they had water monitored hillsides into giant slews boxes for gold and had left a moonscape of washed clean boulders. For a small place it has a lot of history. Thanks for sharing.
@@wallytimmins356 Yes. Part of working for Ginter on construction jobs in the 70's was you got a case of Uncle Bens beer with your pay check. Ironhorse. We used to trade it in a Carcross Yukon pub for Labatts Blue, 12 Ironhorse for 6 Labatts.
@@chucktheperson1063 Thanks for the reply, Chuck. He had a small brewery back then in Winnipeg. If I remember right, they'd tape a dime in a 12 pack and a quarter in a 24 pack to boost sales here in Manitoba.

I just loved today's video Dustin, my favorite ones when you interact with the locals. What a beautiful and awesome young lady and so much talent to boot. I am not a coffee snob but the wife and I have a coffee grinder ( electric ) and we buy whole roasted beans from places that we visit and do enjoy a fine cup of joe. We also have a coffee press and use that from time to time. DA is my favorite channel on the tube !
You definitely knew your audience with this video. I for one enjoy drinking my morning coffee on Saturday mornings with a new episode of Destination Adventure! I really want to visit this small town.
Awesome interview of our community and it's unique features. The video and interview is a great representation of Atlin. We wish Amelie all the best with Kershaw Café!
For those of you who understand reincarnation, I believe Amelie once loved that location in a prior life. That is her connection. The first couple of sentences of her mouth sent chills up my spine.
1/3 cup of beans for a standard press. You might be able to adjust the grind, check the set screw on top. Also, consider regrinding a second time. But should be FABULOUS.

It looks like you may have been camping at Warm Bay. Its a beautiful spot! As for your video, Emily nailed it! That's exactly what I used to say about Atlin: it's at the end of the road so it has to be your destination! Atlin is my favorite place in the whole world. I used to go there as often as possible from where I lived in the Yukon and I did so for a period of 47 years. Last year family changes drew me finally away from the north to eastern Canada. It's nice here too but I miss Atlin all the time. I loved walking the roads in town, camping at the Pine Creek Campground, visiting Pine Beach and sitting at the warm springs or on the waterfront and just taking in the environment. It was the place I wanted to move to and live forever. Thank you for making this video. Good memories. I'm glad she's taken over Kershaw's and given it new life. You can stop and talk to people everywhere. When you're driving, everyone waves to each other. I hope they never build a cell phone tower there though. It will change things forever.
@@atheaboucher3963 I heard a rumour but I was hoping that it was just a rumour. Unfortunately, there is a cost to everything. That seemingly small change will almost certainly effect the character of the town in ways that we can only imagine.
Dude!! Grinding your coffee is the only way to drink coffee LOL! And that whiskey coffee is SO good! I was just as shocked as you with the smell. I, also, usually add some flavour to mine but there is no need with this stuff. I hope you enjoyed it and maybe you'll grind some more of your coffee for your adventures. I've always heard stories of Atlin and was curious about it. You have solidified my plan to definitely go there and visit. As always, thank you for sharing and looking forward to the next adventure :)
What a awesome little place, the people are so genuine and nice. Thanks for bringing us along for the journey. It's a good thing this place is out of the way, little chance of it being ruined by the outside world.
I agree that its good its not on a busy through route....... yet I hope they can maintain their quaint and hopefully steady business to keep them goin at the level they are currently at. Its allways scarey to hear of local mining closing in the recent past......that leads to a slow decline in many instances..... especially for dead end road towns.

Thank you very much.
Love how she changes her demeanour when she says "One coffee shop and one chocolate shop" 😉😁☕🍫
Amazing episode with some absolutely amazing people, what wonderful stories.
Thanks for letting your interviewees talk without interrupting them. It made for a great interview.
What a beautiful video, Dustin. ❤
Probably said this before but this is my favorite episode to date, they just keep getting better. Thanks for bringing this story to us, it really made my day. A very special video of very special people in a very special place. I hope I can visit some day and I hope they have internet sales for the chocolates and the coffees.
Elegant yet gloriously sublime vid, Dustin. Yeah, one of your best.
As a coffee lover, this episode was sheer torture. I so wanted to smell and taste that whiskey coffee. Thanks Dustin.
Atlin Mountain Coffee Roasters, the Brients, roast the yummiest coffee I've ever tasted!! Try the Golden Cliffs or Pacific Sunset blends!!
Loved this one alot!😊❤
Another great video, hopefully after this video is viewed by thousands of people, both their businesses will flourish, absolutely beautiful location .
So glad you had a chance to do an episode including the coffee roaster!
My great friend Kodey lives there and sends coffee to me. Philippe and his family are close friends and they do lots of adventures together. Planning a trip to visit them one summer!
I got to meet him actually. Nice guy, we had a great chat.
Let us know when you make it to Atlin, we can all go out and do something fun together!
Good morning I'm just getting to work today I can't wait to watch this tonight
@chucktheperson1063 Is that the same Ben Ginter from Uncle Bens Brewery back in the 60's ?
@@wallytimmins356 Yes. Part of working for Ginter on construction jobs in the 70's was you got a case of Uncle Bens beer with your pay check. Ironhorse. We used to trade it in a Carcross Yukon pub for Labatts Blue, 12 Ironhorse for 6 Labatts.
@@chucktheperson1063 Thanks for the reply, Chuck. He had a small brewery back then in Winnipeg. If I remember right, they'd tape a dime in a 12 pack and a quarter in a 24 pack to boost sales here in Manitoba.
@@wallytimmins356 Interesting. Prince George, BC was the only known Ginter brewery to me.
For others looking to explore Yukon, make sure you include time to visit the Atlin area. You will not be disappointed.
Cheers!😊
Yes I remember very well the Ginter brewery in PG living there 9 years to 1984.
What a beautiful video, you successfully captured some of the magic that is Atlin. I am so very fortunate to say that I spent the first 8 years of my life in Atlin. ❤️
Thank you😊
Thanks Justine loved it safe journeys.
Enjoyed that gal...nice to see a young person making her way .
Really fun! A place of great charm. A big warm wave to you all...💐
You definitely knew your audience with this video. I for one enjoy drinking my morning coffee on Saturday mornings with a new episode of Destination Adventure!
I really want to visit this small town.
Thanks for supporting local business bud.
Well done. Betcha tourism picks up after this. A very enjoyable video. Thank you.
The first time I met her I got chills up my spine. I believe I have loved her in a prior life...
1/3 cup of beans for a standard press. You might be able to adjust the grind, check the set screw on top. Also, consider regrinding a second time. But should be FABULOUS.
Wow what an amazing adventure that small town looks like an amazing place to live and work the locals would have so many amazing stories. Makes me want to travel to your beautiful country. Oh well maybe 1 day. Keep up your awsome work dustin&Emmy I look forward too see what your doing next. Cheers stevo from Australia 🇦🇺.
What a astoundingly excellent dead end destination ! Perfect size and pace. If they had a small pub with big windows overlooking the lake and mountains, they would have a hard time getting me to leave !
The coffee aspect along with chocolates is real cool. I couldnt stay just a night or two.......that would certainly be a week long pit stop along the ADV route !
Thanks Dustin & Emi !
Great video! Now I know where to get some amazing coffee from. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll definitely check them out. Amazing scenery has always. Just another great episode!
Love this episode !! Thank you
🍻
I had never heard of Atlin before! Very interesting video and I am now wanting to go visit! What a beautiful little remote town with cool people! Chocolate and coffee, YUM!
I love it when you visit these towns and life is drastically different from the hustle and bustle. I feel the things valued are much more precious than what we experience in modern living. Once you go to great tasting coffee, store bought will never be enough.
Dustin, I just ordered the whiskey barrel coffee after seeing this, thanks for sharing your adventures.
I liked this episode of your adventure. I want to see this place in person .
I didn't know about this town - thank you! I live in BC and have done the BC to Yukon drive a few times but had I known about this gem, I would have tacked a few days on to my trips! Thank you so much for sharing!
All these people are from other Countries. Such a beautiful place thank you.
You never disappoint! Awesome video ❤
Very nice episode and one of my favorite channels on YT. I also watch the Brient Family Adventures which is another one of my favorites. Keep up the good work.
Thank you 🙏
What an amazing place. I'm packing up boxes right now. Gonna sell everything and move to Atlin. Thanks for another wonderful and informative video. I wait all week for this.
What a special video tonight. Didn't get to have coffee with you all, but I enjoyed our time together just the same. Sounds like such a wonderful place. I live in the suburbs waaay to close to the city, so your video's take me away to where I can only dream of living. Thank you, Dustin for taking us along on your adventure. 😊
So happy to have you along. :)
Unfortunately a cell tower will be erected this fall. 😢
@@atheaboucher3963 I heard a rumour but I was hoping that it was just a rumour. Unfortunately, there is a cost to everything. That seemingly small change will almost certainly effect the character of the town in ways that we can only imagine.
Yea I always have my espresso and watch Saturday morning. What a fantastic video this was.
What a charming town, filled with lovely people.
Philippe is a lucky man "I dont wish for anything but to stay the way it is". A satisfaction with life rarely found
One of my favorite videos from you Dustin, even though I enjoyed so many videos of yours this one is the one that has me writing down a travel plan for when my Van is complete, I will definitely go to Atlin, even be able to speak my french language with Phillipe. Merci Bonhomme!
It’s a great little town. I have more videos coming from this area. 😊
Who needs cable when we have the very best Dustin productions
my first visit to your website - wow - really enjoyed it, and my husband, watching it over my shoulder was intrigued by the coffee roasting, and he just ordered some coffee beans from Atlin Mountain Coffee Roasters !! thanks Dustin, will check out more of your adventures now !
Have to order some of that whisky coffee for xmas presents. Love the beauty of Atlin , but it's a trek to get there. Great place for heli-skiing.
That was a great episode loved it
Y’all keep you the great work
Thanks
Made it to Arlin yesterday!! Finally! Thanks for
Giving us the push! Amazing town and definitely worth the side trip.
Very awesome way to live!! I learned something about my French press. Put a little water first, let coffee relax first. hmmm thanks. I'll be trying that! Another great Saturday morning with Dustin 😊
