No this would be ignoring the whole point of evolution. We are all related in someway and we have no reason to ever believe just because something went extinct nothing else is like it. If we look all through history whatever went extinct was just replaced by other things similar. If dinosaurs go extinct oh well birds carry on, alligators still thrive, and many other species close to them exist. Then humans are still connected to dinosaurs. @@FunnyRedemption Everyone imagines a scene like Jurassic park where the Jeeps pull up and there are herds upon herds of giant 30 ton theropods and 7 ton predators around every corner. It was not like that. The biomass of fauna would not be any more then than at any other time on earth. A brachiosaur was supposed to have eaten a half ton of leaves a day. 5 of them would strip a square mile of forest bare in a couple of days. The ecology would just not be able to support that. There would be carrion eaters to eat the dead, just like today. Even a cougar requires about 100 sq miles of territory, imagine what a T-Rex would need? You would likely roam around your entire life and never see one. Basically, if the animals are 10 times bigger, there will be 1/10 of them around.
Funfact: Meganeura didn’t extinct because the oxygen levels dropped but because of a new reptile predator that could fly, therefore Meganeura wasn’t at the top of the food chain anymore when it came to flying animals.

What if this channel didnt exist? What would have happened to the owner of this channel, what would have happened to my this comment, what would have happened to the time i spent on his videos.
Yeah, just imagine the things that existed that we'll likely never know about. We've been lucky in regards to finding various fossilized creatures so we know some of the things that used to live on the planet, but that's obviously only a small portion. I think it would be truly mind-blowing to see every type of life that's existed throughout Earth's history, so it really is unfortunate that we'll never get that chance. When I was a kid, I used to wish that some advanced extraterrestrial race had literally treated Earth as a zoo and had "recorded" every single thing that's ever taken place, from the formation of the solar system and our planet to the beginning and evolution of all living things. And, in that hope, I had also wished that they'd one day show it all to us -- in video form, I suppose -- after eventually making (peaceful) contact. Despite how unrealistic that is, I'd be lying if I said there wasn't a part of me still hoping and wishing for such a thing to have happened/happen.
I love how in movies humans can go back in time and actually survive. The parasites alone would kill us. Then there is bacteria and viruses that would kill us. The forest fires must have been insane. That is where coal comes from. Oil comes from the foliage broken down by bacteria. Oh yeah oil is everywhere, It’s not from dinosaur bones.
For me it would be nightmare if insects will be GIANTS, honestly im little afraid of insects and hate those little guys defienitily wasps because on every summer wasps are coming to my room and I don't like that, one wasp stunged one of our cat and im afraid same will happend to me next, how I can keep wasps away from our home? 🐝
I've gotten oxygen toxicity from putting an aloe vera plant on my computer desk. When I'd do exercises later my lungs would release so much oxygen that my eyes would sorta black out & I felt an electric shock through my nervous system.
Yes, there are really big insects and animals that live in this world, because I was one of those who witnessed it in 2002, because I saw how a big dragonfly landed on the floor and it was very big, if I'm not mistaken it was about 10meters long I tried to catch it but suddenly it flew in the air and I couldn't see it, until now I still hope to see the giant dragonfly again. ~ found in philippines
Dang, this is one creepy video .. and the footage looks damn HD for it being from a prehistoric era .. also I wonder if the camera man really died this time 😬
Here is some wise advice in case you ever travel back in time: "If you ever travel back in time, don't step on anything because even the tiniest change can alter the future in ways you can't imagine."
In a past life I was a giant insect. Not sure which kind exactly but I know for sure I was a flying insect. I used to swoop down and catch my prey the same way eagles and hawks do today. I was a real badass.
Years ago, ( I mean years), I had mentioned that insects were massive in prehistoric days, I told them its was due to oxygen was much greater. They thought I was nuts. Perhaps they will see your video and realize
great video! really insightful stuff. i'm kinda amazed by the size of those insects back then, but honestly, i can't help but wonder if they were really as dangerous as they seem. some folks say they weren't that bad, but can you imagine running into a giant dragonfly? i’d be terrified!

Nope. Square cube law. Their strength would go down if they got large. I keep Madagascan hissing cockroaches and they can barely lift 4x their weight, so I have to be careful when checking up on them that I don’t crush them with their hide. They have very tough exoskeletons but can’t take heavy weight.
As an entomologist, a giant scorpion would be an awesome pet; so long as its venom isn’t deadly. I’d need one hell of an enclosure to keep it though haha.
yeah there really is only a certain maximum size that insects and arthropods can get because of how they breathe essentially. They take in air through their skin, but the square cube law means that since their total volume grows much faster than their surface area (the area of their exoskeleton), their ability to breathe essentially is rapidly outpaced by how much bodymass they need to provide air to. If they got much larger than a person, they just couldn't survive and would be suffocated by their own bodies. But of course it was sea scorpions that really grew into the biggest arthropods ever, millions and millions of years before insects began to dominate the land. Monster like Jaekeloptyrus were so huge they'd probably try to eat you if you ran into one, 2 and a half meters long minus the claws. But still, to call it the era of giant insects would be a bit misleading, since amphibians and fish were much larger and deadlier than their insect and arthropod counterparts. Fish were absolutely massive, beyond compare with any other animals at the time and there were amphibians like Eryops that would have eaten even Arthropleura for breakfast.
One can imagine the genetic evolutionary trajectory of 1 of these insects, say the mantis would evolve into the top species on earth or on another planet.

@@uni-byte What makes you think that?

It never happened. Dinasaur's. In the bible called Behemoth or beast or dragons. God created all. They lived among us.
The Hebrew word behemoth has the same form as the plural of the Hebrew noun בהמה behemah meaning 'beast', suggesting an augmentative meaning 'great beast'.

Job 40
King James Version
40 Moreover the Lord answered Job, and said,
2 Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct him? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 Then Job answered the Lord, and said,
4 Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth.
5 Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 Then answered the Lord unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
7 Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.
8 Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
9 Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?
10 Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
12 Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in secret.
14 Then will I also confess unto thee that thine own right hand can save thee.
15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together.
18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron.
19 He is the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach unto him.
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 The shady trees cover him with their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, and hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 He taketh it with his eyes: his nose pierceth through snares.
Leviathan.
Job 41
King James Version
41 Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down?
2 Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?
3 Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee?
4 Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?
5 Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?
6 Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?
7 Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears?
8 Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.
9 Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him?
10 None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?
11 Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine.
12 I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion.
13 Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle?
14 Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about.
15 His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal.
16 One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.
17 They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.
18 By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning.
19 Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out.
20 Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron.
21 His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.
22 In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.
23 The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved.
24 His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone.
25 When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.
26 The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.
27 He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood.
28 The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble.
29 Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear.
30 Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire.
31 He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.
32 He maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary.
33 Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.
34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.
Amen.

Nice fantasy. Could be a movie.

Exoskeleton makes insects capable to lift around 50 times their weight. Giant insect could probably lift tonnes?
Nope. Square cube law. Their strength would go down if they got large. I keep Madagascan hissing cockroaches and they can barely lift 4x their weight, so I have to be careful when checking up on them that I don’t crush them with their hide. They have very tough exoskeletons but can’t take heavy weight.
They always talk about the giant insects, but never the goat trees that they lived in.

Please get it right, most of these creatures are arthropods not insects
Not even close, we are talking phylum not species.
Really enjoyed the video!
What if....you didn't exist
Life's Biggest Questions!!!
yeah there really is only a certain maximum size that insects and arthropods can get because of how they breathe essentially.
Fish were absolutely massive, beyond compare with any other animals at the time and there were amphibians like Eryops that would have eaten even Arthropleura for breakfast.
i love watching ur videos and right now it’s making me not so focused on my stupid nausea
