Some of them have caused whole pandemics and others can make you sick just by being around you. Some bugs crawl under your skin, grow in your digestive system, or eat your brain. Or maybe just sting or bite you, inject you with venom, or cause a deadly allergic reaction. That’s why many of us evolved a fear of bugs. Good reasons

Thanks! This is exactly the kind of thing I asked last week for you to do more of... not "What if our world suddenly changed in a massive way?" but "What if things had always been how they'd need to be in order to end up in a different type of world?" Pretty much any big change, no matter what it is, will be a catastrophe, because we and our ecosystem have evolved gradually to deal with the world as it is. In a sudden-change story, it's changing much faster than anything can re-adapt to the new configuration... so none of us will be in good shape with the new arrangement.
But in stories like this, which posit a world that evolved in a different way all along, there's no sudden catastrophe and we can actually discuss what differences would exist. This one got really interesting; thank you!
BTW, I agree that we would definitely eat giant bugs if they still existed. We already eat crustaceans and think they're delicacies, and they're just oceanic giant bugs! The insects evolved from the crustaceans.
