I don't get why people think that feminism is erasing feminine women. It's just giving them the choice to do what *they* want to do.

Being "feminine" makes me happy (eg. things like crossing my legs, wearing dresses and heels, or even just the thought of someone perceiving me as feminine). However, I also do "masculine" things like hating makeup, wanting to achieve things without concern for whether it's a man's or woman's thing (I look at things other people, male or female or other, do and feel ashamed at my lack of talent, never thinking that society doesn't except it if me because I'm female).
One time I was fixing something in a parking lot and a man offered to help me, I told him no, I would do it myself. I didn't tell him no because I wanted to prove that I, a woman, could fix something all by myself. I did it because I wanted to prove to myself that I could fix something by myself (not because I was a girl, just because I wanted to feel clever and smart).
In short, I don't think it matters if anyone, of any gender identity does feminine or masculine things as long as it's not toxic and makes them feel good. If a women wants to be do things that are feminine she should do them, same with masculine things. I know the problem is when people force those things on other people that don't like them or prevent women from making their own choices, but sometimes I really do think that society makes it seem like we have to have it one way or the other, even if that's not true. I consider myself to be feminine (as in more than just female, but also "girly") because that's how I want to be perceived even if my actual mannerisms don't reflect that.
Maybe some people might think of it like intelligence: just because we like being perceived as intelligent doesn't mean we are, because being feminine and female are two different things, but... I don't know. Life is confusing.

That hello fresh ad reminded me of this hysterical moment, during my wife's pregnancy. We are not that traditional couple. We both work, we're both heavily involved with our daughter's needs and interests. We are a partnership of equals. I have never been down with the idea that women should barefoot & pregnant in the kitchen. I would never tell a woman to make me a sandwich as a strange snack based power flex. But here's the thing...my wife and I both go barefoot in the house by default. And....well, we both like to make each other food as part of our love language....and...I like sandwiches? So one day, I was playing Diablo III at my PC and she asked me if I was hungry. I said I was, and she decided to make me a sandwich. We were sort of chatting and one point I looked over at her and realized what was happening....I looked down at her feet, then at her belly, then at the sandwich, then at her face. She quickly retraced my gaze and then said, "How did we let this happen?" We both fell out laughing so hard we couldn't breath.

Love this so much. My husband and I would find this to be funny as well. But also I am now a stay at home mom with 4 boys. Not because it’s my duty as the woman, but because it works for our family. I worked full time until about 6 years ago when our 2nd youngest needed to be transported to school an hour away to an appropriate school, he is Deaf and it’s an oral deaf program. The reimbursement for the travel costs and time worked out to be about what my pay was working for the school district so it just made sense, and also I’m the one who fully gets the school stuff and the medical stuff and this was kinda a twofer. If covid wasn’t so rampant in my area I would be working again, but I don’t feel that it’s safe for the kids to return to school so we’re at home together.

Too quote Emma Watson "Feminism is not a stick with which to beat other women. Feminism is about freedom, its about liberation, it's about choice"
A woman can be whomever she wants, dress and style herself however she wants. Whether a woman wants to be a stay at home mother or have a career both are completely valid options and both are what give that woman fulfilment in life. Being feminist doesn't mean we are all bra burning man haters it can mean that we wear pretty dresses and make up and heels whilst also fighting for equality and choosing our own life paths and having full autonomy over out lives, minds, bodies, choices and futures.

Feminism is not about erasing femininity, its about how there is not only one way to be feminine. Its not about telling women they cant cook, clean or raise kids, or telling them they have to work, its about telling them that they can choose any combination and still be a woman. In the words of Emma Watson: Feminism is about choice, its about freedom, its about liberation,....it is not a stick with which to beat other women with.

Also that women don't have to be feminine at all, it's an entirely valid option to let go of femininity altogether and still be a woman and those women are not any less women than women who are ultra feminine, that's always been my problem calling myself a woman is that when other people lump me into that category they start to expect me to be feminine like them and treat me as though I am and it creates so much dissonance. Yeah femininity is valid but so is the opposite and both can be women, there are no other girls, just girls, and none of us should feel othered because we don't perform femininity the way we're expected to

I would’ve outed myself right there to her if my grandma wasn’t there. (Shes LGBTQphobic, mostly transphobic) I would’ve outed me and said I have the best girlfriend in the world. I'm definitely quite feminine and do fit some of the gender roles BUT I'm also one of the most vocal feminists out there. Feminism is about choice. Every woman should do whatever it is that makes them happy. My choices just happen to line up with some stereotypes. I don't think everyone should live this way though. If my lifestyle isn't your thing ... great! Do you! I just wish people would stop judging me. Everyone should respect each other's choices in how they choose to live even if it's not their thing.

The 'submission pills' gave me a laugh, because historically, women who only stayed at home to serve their homes and families were (according to their male doctors)prone to "hysteria". Symptoms of which included: unhappiness, disobedience, and wanting the right to vote. Ofcourse this desease was caused by the uterus, because that was the only internal organ men didn't have!
But women couldn't be allowed to attend university, or work in science(or at all while married) because their little brains couldn't handle it and their uterus would fall out!
Many women with high intellects ended up committing suicide or succumbed to mental illness because they felt empty and useless in a society that wouldn't allow them to do anything truly usefull with their intelligence and talents. Which ofcourse was seen as more proof of women's weakness. It's a vicious circle that apparently is still kicking. I hope these are the last convulsions before it finally dies.

High femme feminist here! But while I greatly enjoy presenting as high femme, and I do enjoy some feminine coded activities (I love historical hand sewing), I don’t go in for most gender roles. Also, my dad was the one to reach me how to hand sew. And how to cook. My mum taught me woodworking and budgeting.
I blame my parents. They shared all the household and work stuff pretty equally, switching off being the stay at home while they had below high school aged children. So gender roles just never made much sense to me. What part of gender or sex makes one person better at cooking and another better at yard work? It’s completely nonsensical to me.
Just work things out the way that works for you. If you enjoy cooking, and your partner doesn’t, then you cook and the partner does the dishes. I just don’t see why gender has to come into it at all.

Less than a minute in and I was already laughing. I am a feminine feminist! My husband and I support and 'serve' each other. When both partners support each other, you both grow, and grow better together. As for the feminine, as didn't like pink, lace, dresses, etc. when I was a teen. For quite a while I was a jeans and t-shirt mom (I also taught preschool). One day I was getting ready to go to a wedding, curling my hair and putting on makeup. My then 3 year old (now 22! What?!?) said, "Mommy, you look like a girl!" Hahaha!!! I think I slowly started wearing more girly things. I only had 3 sons at that point, now we have 5. I am so outnumbered in my house. ;)

Hello Fresh also helped me try so many foods that I refused to eat! My parents were so relieved! Seriously, it sounds fake, but it can really help you eat more vegetables.

To be honest, when I first saw this vid on the list I was a bit miffed: it wasn't till I saw the small "you can be both" in the corner that I realised that this was a rebuttal, not yet another mgtow/incel/niceguy rant about woman daring not to fall fainting into their arms - or, more likely, at their feet.
[] "make women feminine again" - like, pass laws? force women to be something that YOU decide they "ought" to be?
Of course, the alternative word for "feminine" here is "doormat".
[] lol women can't be "feminine" now! The word "no" must be removed from their vocabulary to make them "properly feminine".
[] "Be proud to serve him" - but do you serve him fried or roasted?
