The Saturn version has the best special stage music in the series history. Then we have incredible tracks like Rusty Ruin Zone on Saturn, or Volcano Valley on Genesis. Green Grove is equally good on both.

The funny thing about Senoue remixing his contributions to the Genesis version for SA1 is that apparently Japan didn't get the Genesis version of 3D Blast, so they only got the Saturn version in 1999, a year after SA1. Senoue has said that because of that, he put the music in SA1 so that the japanese audience could actually hear it.
this kind of sonic "Saturn Era" music is pretty unique, regardless of the lack of games in this era, ALL of this soundtracks are REAL BANGERS including Sonic Jam and Sonic R. Thinking about this soundtrack being post Genesis but pre Dreamcast gives it a strong identity =)
The special stage theme feels so much like Gran Turismo music, I swear if you slow the tempo down by about .75% it would fit perfectly before starting a race.
This game's OST was also put in as Filler OST for Sonic Chronicles. The game wasn't very, finished, so they only really shipped out with what they had, which was slightly buggy, non-balanced, Midi Music, Stock Sounds, the like, it was held together with spit and wishful thinking. @@noodlegirl8528 well it wasnt official to be fair, it was more of a b-side project during its production. but its REALLY good and theres like 100 ish tracks made
ik what u meant when u said "soundfont" but the genesis music was synthesised in real time, closer to like a real guitar rather than a keyboard with a guitar sound (which is what soundfont would be, more like snes music). the drums however are sampled, which is closer to a soundfont, though it's still not a soundfont
Soooo much like Jun references windy valley, iYou know that first song n Sonic 3D Blast saturn,? You should go listen to "It doesn't Really Matter" from Metropolis Street Racer and see if you recognize something!
Literally the best Sonic soundtrack of all time The genesis version is good, but there are some mid/bad tracks like Spring Stadium act 1, Panic Puppet act 1, Final fight, and the special stage. Also in comparison, both acts really blend together and sound the same just with slight differences ,with some exceptions. I will defend 3D Blast Saturn with my life idc
For me, this (And a lot of other soundtracks) are tainted by Richard Jacques' behaviour, especially towards fellow Sonic musicians, Tee Lopes, and Bentley Jones. Which sucks so much, because this, and Sonic R (As well as Jet Set Radio, and so much more) are important soundtracks in my life.
Definitely feel Spring Stadium 2 is the weakest part of the soundtrack. Like the circus is trying way too hard. The cartoon sound effects also make me angry for some reason.
Ok, that's an obvious bait. When people talk about 3D Blast's OST, they always talk about how great the Genesis OST is. When they talk about the Saturn OST, they say it's good, but not as good as the Genesis OST. How is it overrated?

i do not want that shit in my ear drums
Understandable. It sounds like the entire OST was made in a day.
3D blast on saturn sounds AI generated it honestly sounds like demo elevator music
:(
9:34 I cannot lie, the Saturn songs fit this level a whole hell of a lot more than the Genesis songs. Plus, I don't like the Genesis songs for Diamond Dust Zone.
Ive always been disappointed on how the Saturn port got overshadowed by the genesis version
volcano valley act 1 sounds like something from smash bros.
real
Pair Richard up with tim follin and they're going to make some music that will be out of this world
its so over
I realise Richards Jacques song green grove was reuse in sonic speed simulator
Rusty ruin zone sound like sonic cd sound track.
you had ur chance to talk about chris senns incredible sonic xtreme concept music.
i did not know that existed whoops
@@noodlegirl8528 well it wasnt official to be fair, it was more of a b-side project during its production. but its REALLY good and theres like 100 ish tracks made
ik what u meant when u said "soundfont" but the genesis music was synthesised in real time, closer to like a real guitar rather than a keyboard with a guitar sound (which is what soundfont would be, more like snes music). the drums however are sampled, which is closer to a soundfont, though it's still not a soundfont
my b for that one, someone else also corrected me so i apologize for that, im not familar with these.. terms.
Soooo much like Jun references windy valley, iYou know that first song n Sonic 3D Blast saturn,? You should go listen to "It doesn't Really Matter" from Metropolis Street Racer and see if you recognize something!
You missed panic puppet act 2 banger song (it also has the piano if I am not mistaken)
whoops, yeah as I uh possibly scrapping the video I kind of rushed some elements (you can tell near the later part of the video) so apologies for that
@@noodlegirl8528That’s fine! I know vids take a while to produce so I get it.
I fukin love 3D blast. Mostly the genesis cuz damn does it have an atmosphere and yeah the saturn is good but i prefer the genesis.
Literally the best Sonic soundtrack of all time
The genesis version is good, but there are some mid/bad tracks like Spring Stadium act 1, Panic Puppet act 1, Final fight, and the special stage. Also in comparison, both acts really blend together and sound the same just with slight differences ,with some exceptions.
I will defend 3D Blast Saturn with my life idc
YEAHHHHHH, I still like the genesis track but yeah saturn still better
green grove is in the roblox game >_>
whoopsies
For me, this (And a lot of other soundtracks) are tainted by Richard Jacques' behaviour, especially towards fellow Sonic musicians, Tee Lopes, and Bentley Jones. Which sucks so much, because this, and Sonic R (As well as Jet Set Radio, and so much more) are important soundtracks in my life.
Dude a collab with all of them would be the craziest shit ever
I find no similarity between spring stadium genesis and emerald coast
make a skibidi toilet video next
im putting that in my video ideas and if i ever make it ur gonna be in the description and the pinned comment
🔥💯🎧W Soundtrack🎧💯🔥
Uhh a good song from Sonic is obviously the title screen and uhh.... ehhh thats about it
uhhh yeah
@noodlegirl8528 sorry it was supposed to say Sonic boom not just Sonic lol
18:30 Female elon musk?!
erm... but what about the unused tracks?
ermmm what the sigma (sorry)
ermm its ok (one of the unused tracks is just sa1's twinkle park)
Definitely feel Spring Stadium 2 is the weakest part of the soundtrack. Like the circus is trying way too hard. The cartoon sound effects also make me angry for some reason.

Overrated*
Mmmmm I love bait
Ok, that's an obvious bait. When people talk about 3D Blast's OST, they always talk about how great the Genesis OST is. When they talk about the Saturn OST, they say it's good, but not as good as the Genesis OST.
How is it overrated?
Nah, to be honest, is still very inferior to the genesis one, also, some of the tracks dont even give me the feel of being part of a sonic game. Not bad soundtrack but not that memorable
thats fair, the vibe of it doesnt fully match the sonic vibes so it makes sense
0:45 WTF?!?!?!?
hits me like atruck too
