probably tangentially speaking here but i feel like everything that went into d4dj---its songs, its visuals, its style, even down to its colors---just shows how much love/effort was put into this project. i don't know much about style and all its technical points, but when you look at even just the ui of the game, you immediately know that you're playing d4dj. i'm sure someone smarter than me can talk more about the finer details of this game much better than i can, though 😭😭😭 anyways, you're so real for this and this is what i've been thinking but didn't know how to put into words!!
its such a beautiful game to me! one of the funnest rhythm games I've ever played and I still play it quite a lot. The vibe (Idk how to describe this) of d4dj also caught my attention positively when I first saw it. I barely play project sekai now because something about d4dj pulls me in more. Also I love the groups, the characters are amazing and I love them (even if I don't pay attention to the lore too much)
YOU ARE SO RIGHT, so much love was put into this and even after making this video I feel like there are more words to describe it. You are right though; everything about it screams d4dj that is extremely impressive considering it came out in 2020 admist other gacha games
d4dj's visuals are some of my favorites out of ANY rhythm game I've played. my fav unit has always been happy around bc I really like how they use colors and the pop art style in order to stand out 🥺
SOMEONE GETS IT OMG Iv’e watched the anime around 5 times already and it never gets old. I also play the game daily and it’s def my fave of bandori, sekai and D4. You making the connection to ZZZ as well really hit me as that’s a game I was super drawn to thanks to the visual style. Never realised the parallell but now that you said it I see it and it’s so true!
YES SOMEONE SAID IT!!! D4DJ’S AESTHETIC IS SO COOL AND UNIQUE AND I LOVE IT!!! The groups with my favorite aesthetic is probably mermaid and Lyrical Lily. D4DJ is such a stylish series it’s so nice to look at
TRUE! I love each groups visual style like with Mermaids more orange colors and Lyrical Lily with their more pastel color design, its why I love the d4dj all mix intro for showing lyrical lilys visual style, and comparing it to the d4dj first mix intro shows how different they all are
D4dj isnt just good at visuals they have taste in music as well!! The amount of tanoc originals and tanoc songs in jp made me actually shocked the fact maozon remixed a song for d4dj.
@@noodlegirl8528 Tano*c is a big name in the DTM (or as I like to call it, J-Core) scene and rhythm games (especially Arcaea, Sega arcade rhythm games, and WACCA). And D4DJ have some Tano*c remixes of touhou songs
Its always so amazing to see someone else out there who can gush about the visual styles of games, especially D4DJ's which I feel like is somehow an underrated detail of the franchise. The style has even inspired me to make more changes in my own art style, like using more strokes, drop shadows, brighter colors, and half tone effects. Also, I really like your editing style! I'm curious where or how you've learned to edit like that. I've always admired the visuals and editing of MVs, especially those from the MTFCB entries. I feel like I get really overwhelmed at the idea of breaking down all of the details put into editing like that to be able to create a shot that feels so complicated. I'm hoping one day I'll actually have the time to really study and learn how to create something even nearly as amazing as that.
I'll be real after years of doing this type of editing i cant give a good tutorial on how I got the way I did, my styles fluctuated over the years but I will say one thing: inspiration is key. I consumed so much animation stuff during the years and its the little things that mattered, like one day I saw a cool bounce animation so I spent a whole day trying to recreate it, and now I know how to do it and I implement it a lot in a ton of my edits. My biggest piece of advice is start out small; I'm still learning BG's in MV's and looking at some of the project sekai mv's, it genuinely makes my brain go crazy trying to figure out how they did it but yknow, one step at a time
Im also a huge visual lover myself!! I also love zzz and two games I can also mention that are absolutely peak for me in visuals are the persona games and splatoon! You should check those out if you havent yet
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE PERSONA AND SPLATOON, Splatoon was the main feeling I got when I played ZZZ and I've been in LOVE with Persona's visuals for years. It's so amazing how creative every type of visual can be without it looking exactly the same
i absolutely LOVE how hard they went with the visuals. definitely the most motion graphics of all time, i think the game singlehandedly re-lit my interest in mograph and design again lmao
NO SAME, I've had a bit of burnout with mograph and designing but looking at d4dj reminded me of how much fun it was so im just having fun and chilling with making stmograph stuff
One thing I want to mention is when I first played the game I really liked how the turntables are spinning at the sides, I don't think I've seen anyone mention it but they're so cool and dynamic and really adds to the style

@@noodlegirl8528 i live in a village and on a 1 floor house and i passed out while reading something and forgot my window was open. so . someone nicked it from the side of my head through my window. which has bars on it. and is 4 feet off the ground and i sleep on the floor.... i really do miss my phone
bro during the last episode when Happy Around was going against Peaky P-key and the intro to the song started playing it really got me saying BOI MCs about to lose hard
Yeah Absolute was so good I sat there thinking "HapiAra is going to need some anime mc bs to make it" but they straight up didn't and lost LMAO I think it was for the better tho it made it much more "realistic" and that HapiAra won't give up easily!!

I've been a huge fan of their style/art direction and the sheer consistency of it, from the album covers to the ui to the animations it's just so fun to look at and really helps distinguish itself from other idol games :D so glad you mentioned the logos for each unit too because they give such a clear impression about their vibe without even looking at the members' costumes or listening to their music beforehand; unichord's is also a highlight for me because incorporating the classic music wave symbol in their Ø while also having it branch out to loop around the logo to mimic a line of orbit for their space theme is so genius. photon maiden's is great too with their name being spelled out in morse code because they're trying to translate saki's synthesia into music. I adore how much effort was put into the branding of this game :)))

Very great video! I know a lot of people within the community who loves the style that was chosen for the game, specifically the UI and the gacha animation like you pointed out. The style of the game has only gotten better over time as well! Going from the regular unit gacha, to SP gacha animation and NV gacha animation, each one better than the last. And the unit specific UIs has been such a treat to look at, characterizing all the different units so uniquely.
Too bad Bushiroad just dropped D4DJ a few weeks back and its most likely going to EoS before the year is over. Rev Star EoS is already confirmed for September, and Bandori Global is pretty much abandoned. If you are familiar with Bushiroad`s financials.. they are doing extremely bad and have started to cut back on everything.

ZZZ's visual style is actually so engaging, it can sometimes be a bit much but im in constant awe seeing how much motion is put into each scene
