I just tested this phone in a phone shop. This phone is a beauty . Just alone on looks Samsung wins . So I am thinking of leaving iOS to android because of this phone.

I wouldn't, touch-wiz is terrible.
Touchwiz is awful at multitasking. It has to reload the app after, like, opening two more apps..

Brilliant video! First I was a bit sceptical of not seeing you sit in the couch, but you really nailed this!

1. This used to be a pretty big deal for me, but then you forget that the remote control for you TV = 100x faster than using your phone to change the channel.
2. As someone who is near an power source 24/7 and have alot of external battery chargers, It isn't a big deal, i never had to replace the battery on any of my previous samsung phones. It charges really fast and if i'm out on the go, i just switch to Ultra power savings mode.
3. MicroUSB flash drives work the same way, you dont have to open your phone as well if you are looking for extra content to view. or storage space. they are pretty much the same price as microSD cards.
Some people are just nit picking. some people are haters, in the end. The phone is gorgeous, very powerful cpu and the camera is the best on the market for a mobile device. It has the best display and in the end, that should matter most considering todays generation are on their phone 70% of the day.
Just went to the store to try these... zero lag.. only buttery smoothness... tried an iphone 6+ too... same thing but it loads things up and moves around the OS noticeably slower.

Does the slight screen distortion on videos really annoy you or is it somthing you get used to?
I think you may want to revisit your battery test. I have the S6 Edge+ on AT&T and my battery life has been great since day 1 (maybe 4 1/2 hours screen on time). For some reason after owning the phone for 7 days (breaking in the battery) battery life has gone from great to EXCELLENT! I can easily get through a days use with plenty of battery to spare. Maybe because your unit was unlocked with AT&T it wasn't optimized and I heard the Tmobile variant of this phone had a few battery issues (AT&T was the best). Great review though

nice review! My GS5 gets a score of 27,000 on Quadrant Standard but still manages to lag quite a bit. Still a decent device though. Looking forward to what the GS7 and Note 6 have to offer...

I picked my s6 edge+ up about 8 days ago and I've waffled hourly on whether or not I'd keep it or swap it for its more sedate cousin, the Note 5.
I should note (pun intended), that this is my first Android phone. I received an android tablet as a gift recently and it completely changed my world. I've been all iOS everything since iPhone mk.1 and frankly I don't know how I did it. Android is fantastic.
Ironically, the reason I want to exchange it is the same reason thats compelled me to buy it (and keep it): the novelty form factor. The edge is useless, we all know it, but in a world where everyone more or less has a device that looks exactly the same/ owning something that stands out and is beautiful to just stare at is really special.
Is it still worth getting over the LG v10?

I've had this phone for about 5 days. And I have to respectfully disagree with the battery assessment of this phone. I've been routinely getting about 17 hours of battery life with around 4 hours of screen on time. What I will say is that I've been deliberately NOT putting this thing on the charger until it's almost dead to get the most use out of it. And I can say that I've been pretty happy with the battery life so far. And I haven't been the biggest fan of Samsung phones, but this has been good so far. Coming from a Nexus 6 prior.

I bought the s6 edge+ gold and wow such a good looking phone. the edges make the view more appreciative. the battery is some what ok when you keep it on auto brightness. I personally control my brightness and my phone seems to have more juce threw out the day. but in over all its a great awesome phone
omg... I don't know what's with your phone but my phone is great on battery, and I used the edge apps all the time! this phone is perfect! I love it!
just received my samsung galaxy edge plus in gold from Verizon this is a beautiful ass phone and fast not looking back
i have iphone 6 and s6 edge plus both .. now i am confused which phone should i use as my daily driver .. so i use 1 week iPHONE 6 and other week edge plus ... and battery life of edge plus is way better than any other samsung phone .. i am an average user and at the end of the day ,, 30-40% remains there. I LOVE THIS PHONE 9/10.

I have the edge+ and the battery is better than he makes it looks. Yes it's not alot but only if you're really pushing it. I've had it for about 3 weeks and I always have about 70-80 percent left in the day. I work 10 hours each day and yes I check it somewhat often.
How does this phone last over three months though? I have used a note, Galaxy, & htc one m7 all android obviously.....
I switched over to the iPhone 6 and never had to look for my charger or worry about super slow apps opening due to bloating!

I'd have to agree with your analysis. What I really wanted, was another version of the *Note edge. But instead, I was forced to decide between the note 5, and the edge. Why can't we have both?? I really wanted the functionality of the S pen, but then realized because I have unlimited data, I definitely use the real estate of that display a lot. So, I got the gold S6+edge. The look waa so stunning to me, it literally overpowered my ordinarily practical reasoning.

I went from the note 3 and was looking at the note 5 black sapphire and then I seen this gold platinum beauty s6 edge plus and it was a no brainer. fucking spectacular phone. in every way.
I get four to four 1/2 hours of on screen time from the edge plus so I'm happy with the battery life. I've had the phone for a week and never died in me.
Like the new review type, I love seeing reviews with the phone in use
How's the ram managing?
battery is good on mine, average user, last 2.5 days. And the ultra power saving mode is excellent, i activate it whenever i go to sleep, and the next morning, 0-1% less in battery. :)
Is this mobile phone still good for today's time? Looking to buy it in a month or 2.

I'm not sure which to get between this and the regular s6 edge, could do with some advice. I'm okay with big phones (I like watching movies and such on my phone) but at the same time I'm not sure if the novelty of the edge plus' size will wear off. Is a smaller phone better in the long run? I use external batteries on the go so battery life isn't a factor to me.
Get the S6 edge+ you won't regret it, I now have the regular S6 edge in gold looks awesome but I wanted a bigger display then I thought if only Samsung made this bigger it would be perfect now I'm regretting it because Samsung did made it bigger now I want that phone but I can't because I'm stuck with this now.
I have the gold edition...I trade in my iPhone 6 plus and not regretting it at all... I LOVE IT!!!!

the battery was an issue for the first 3 days...i completely agree! buuuuuut i drained it dead 3 times & after taking off charge 6am (AZ time) stream podcast to work & home, medium use (feedly, facebook, youtube, wifi connected, email push, plenty of text & notifications to Pebble time & 30 mins of talk. i had 60% by 6pm returning home. & its been consistently getting better. so, reeeeally push the battery on the tmobile 14 day trial. good luck...moving from a iphone 6+ 128gb

So I was thinking about getting the S6 edge plus I wanted it cuz of the big battery. I do have the regular edge so it has the same battery life is have to charge my phone once a day sometimes twice. I guess I should stick with what I have?
I love this design and I really wanna get the Silver Titanium because judging from the S6 regular the Gold Platinum just isn't gold enough for me. It actually appears more bronze in certain lighting. Over all S6 Edge Plus is the say to go for sure. Ps. I like big phones. 😁
There is no IR blaster so no TV remote. The display is distorted at the edge. It is like reading under a drop of water. The Plus crosses the line of being too big. Cases don't fit well. Without a case it digs into your hand. It is not really practical. I know, I returned one for the standard S6.

I am using my phone perfectly, it all depends from your hands and if you are used to big phones, if you are a woman or a kid i can understand your reaction, other than that this is a perfect phone for a man.
ЂОЛЕбрате I would add to my comments that the design is feminine looking because of its tapers. Women love it, men not so much, they control the remote control in the house, this is why it does not need a remote control. A large phone is no problem for a woman, it fits in their purse. My wife loves it.

that's disregarding the fact that most of the tech world (predominantly male) loves the design of the Edge+... there's no way to discern whether this design is "feminine" or "masculine".
There's nothing wrong with not liking a phone, but to come up with lame excuses to diss a phone *because* you don't like it is just sad.
Yigi Liu I guess you missed the solid reasons I didn't like it in my OP. You are wrong about design being masculine. Go to Wal-Mart and walk down the "girls" aisle. Every damn thing in sight is pink. I know you will deny your eyes and state you are in the boys aisle. You will say that all this design is not masculine or feminine. That is just how you are I guess.

I disagree on the battery life because my 64gb version on tmobile last a full day with 60 percent with moderate use. I did notice the first few days after purchasing the battery wasn't fully provisioned and was told very good. BUT NOW IT'S AWESOME!!!!

+lilwarski0121 S7 is coming in march i think and it will cost a lot! I think it will be one of those phones this year that will be pretty much on on the top of the chain (money)
Not sure if you knew, new S7 will be bigger and it will have more RAM, and the bad news is camera will be 12mpx instead of 16mpx, and it will have better lightning with that camera however on big screens (like tv) images won't be as sharp as they are with S6. I think it's worth to buy S6E+ for now, maybe october/november it will be more worth to buy S7 according to price=quality, but for now i would suggest you to get S6 Edge+.

I love how fast mine charges my phone. Wherever I drive, the amount it takes to drive gives me hours and hours of battery life :)

i think the bad battery life is only in your unit cause i've deem other reviews and they said they had 4.5 to 5 hours SOT and sometimes even better the the note 4. u should check that out
I bought this phone a week ago and so far the battery life has been great; my last phone was the Note Edge and the battery life of that one was bad. it is so beautiful this phone; and yes the gold one is the one to buy.

its a really beast of a phone, can play every game without lags and multitasking is working perfectly. The display is just awesome, every game ,every video or photo looks brilliant on this display. 4k Videos looks pretty but maybe a bit laggy but its ok :P i have 32 gb and its enough when you have had a iphone with 16 (10gb) for 2 years. At the beginning it was a little bit difficult to hold the phone safe but meanwhile im pretty good at holding the phone without struggling^^

Yeah, it has the best design for a smartphone right now, but, maybe isn't as funcional as others... for an average costumer, BEAUTY is all that matters,... but, for We, the geeks, there are a lot of other things more important that the awesome look of this device. 8.5 sounds fair enough.

Had the S6 edge and had to sell it. Battery life killed the phone for me. Thought Samsung would learn from that mistake with the edge + and Note 5.

The two killers for me are no expandable storage and horrible battery life. I love the phone otherwise! The perfect phone for me would be:
- Camera - best of class, fast, less than 2.0 aperture
- Good to great battery life
- Expandable storage
- Dual Sim, Multiband and unlocked (needs to work on both AT&T and Verizon)
- Fast Charge
- NFC
- Snappy UI experience

people getting 6-7 hrs sot on s6 edge+, and it lasts longer than a note 4. This dudes phone might have a problem.
