I was fortunate enough to meet Johnny, Megan, and Ruth at the Double Exposure tour a couple years back. Such a cool guy, and he remembered meeting me a year later.
I recently discovered this band and their hauntingly beautiful sound is addictive. Strangely they've aligned themselves with Twin Peaks but I'll watch there videos anyway I can get em. Ruth is a gem and incredibly talented. They really hit the jackpot with her doing vocals
The 80’s tinge landscape. To follow Ruth Radelet’s lyrics was to dive into a world of depression and ecstasy. Emotions Two opposite ends of the spectrum. This is so true. It’s very bittersweet.
I've noticed some "borrowing" of ideas on certain songs. The one that sticks out in my mind are on the song Mask. That bassline sounds like a song i recall hearing from the killers album hot fuss. Maybe Jenny was a friend of mine or midnight ride. Maybe another one but i've heard other examples too but just dont think about them until i'm listening to the song. When i first found the chromatics i thought they were like a cover band or something like the bloodhound gang who use "samples" or "covers" of parts in their music. Becuase i heard that mask song then "girls wanna have fun" and "im on fire" But delving deeper in their music its clear they are their own entity and really good at their one trick for sure. Very COOOOL music.
@@desertdweller9548 sure, if you have selective attention and you only focus on the words “blinding lights” instead of every other word in the title, including the subject of the video, which is the BAND.
Chromatics rocks. Ruth is absolutely breathtaking. Thanks for making this.
2019's Closer to Grey was not mentioned at all. It is a masterpiece.

I'm a huge fan. I love their music.

Love them❤️👌💪💪💪
I'm glad Ruth got out and is letting her talent shine, no more of Mr. Creepy!!
What happened?
With her new bad songs!!
@@joaquin.a6067 is this Johnny Jewel's burner account?

A very well done video
Great video, small critique it is “Chromatics” not “The Chromatics.”
💙
So sad that they've broken up
Johnny Jewel apparently stole more than song ideas. 😂 When he lived in Portland and worked at Fred Myer the dude
Newsflash they are no longer!
Sucks they are over for good now
really? why ?
@@rashixoxo the band broke up
Literally mentioned the Weeknd in the last ten seconds of the video. Just call it what it is and not this clickbait bullshit title.
It’s not a video about The Weeknd, it’s about the “band behind the blinding lights remix” it’s in the title.
@@pauulkubasek1815 Still clickbait.
