You just need a Redbull Gap, a risen bridge or tabletop to do whips or scrubs on, & some Val Di Sol style rocks & roots, & you have a DH course haha! ;) .. Might be time to start using kneepads & better tires for the wet.. Looks brutal for a mass start race course..
nope, it is not DH at all lol that drop is like 1m tall - it's easy AF. It just looks scary. Funny enough the chickenline looks harder to me the dodgiest parts of the track are corners on the wood (the bridges and the log turn) It's so funny people compare it to DH at all lol - look up Val Di Sole RAW it has nothing to do with DH, any medium skilled XC racers clears this course only the unskilled riders are afraid of that I really liked the off-camber parts - very interesting, but the woodwork in the wet... not a fan of that. does not add much to the racing, but can injure the riders easily
@@ostankovalex1176 You can't make those statements. I agree it isn't that bad (and I have no idea why riders are choosing to take the B line - it looks sketchy), but riding this in the wet, on a 100mm travel XC bike with low-profile tyres, and after going flat out on the climb, is much harder than riding it on a DH bike. Riders like Loic have publicly stated they would be scared of doing this type of riding on an XC bike...
@@Bozza36 nope, it isn't hard on a 100mm bike lol. I've been sending such mild drops on a hardtail with a cheap fork. All modern XC bikes are very capable now and are not that shitty on descents as they used to be even the guys in the video say it's easy and just looks frightening. anyone having issues with this drop are just roadies and have no idea how to ride an mtb this drop is not bigger than a drop where Van Der Poel OTBed. Just watch that footage - that drop looks even bigger the log drop is also easy AF and I will repeat it once again. the features are not big and are easy. you don't know the grip on those rocks - some rocks are like sandpaper and are grippy AF and give more grip in the wet I don't get the wooden bridge/log features - they are stupid AF and will be covered in soil contributing to injuries of athletes as for the heart rates - DH riders ride on 180 average heartbeat sending MUCH more technical features - it's not even close. Yes, they've got a DH bike, but on their speed it gives nothing if you fkup the line or a feature. even XC pro riders agree DH has more brutal injuries
That log drop to flat is mean especially when followed by an off-camber slick stump floor turn. It's like they designed the course to incite injury. The rock drop, however, is a great addition to the sport.
love you guys course preview videos. seem to be having alot of fun out on course always. this new camera though is tough to watch. slightly disorienting and with the fish eye the trail gets lost in the low def. hate to be that commenter but i dig yalls stuff and would like to see that tracks filmed like last season
I'm surprised nobody has made any significant setup changes. 25mm riser bars would help on the dh & drops. I see no attachable/detachable chin bars. No pads...🙄
Very weird looking loop. The drop onto corner slick log circles looks very dodgy. A lot of tarmac and the in/out around buildings parts gives a bit of an urban DH vibe.

That's just ridiculous how gnarly that is. Literal UCI Downhill type features after massive climbs. Good luck.

Not even close to DH features. That's a tiny drop.

That course looks granrly. I hope it's dry on race day.
“Granrly?” Like gnarley for a grandma? That’s an interesting new portmanteau. 😁
Dude ! You mean .......*GNARLY

What’s wrong with his arms?
People drop the seatpost even on the easy parts. I think they are getting spoiled.
Respectfully if I’m carrying the whole dropper post I’m using the whole dropper post
Such a little effort, and makes riding your bike so much more easy.
Lucas Schwartbauer certainly does not need It. Neither do I
