Gotta say... the Pikachu variant's the most impressive to me. Whereas all the others are mostly recolors, the Pikachu one actually adds something to make it stand out. Pikachu etched on the right side, his foot as the reset button, and a Pokeball as the power switch. THAT is how you theme a console.

I know this post comes late but if you didn't find the information you were asking about I might be able to help. As you suspected the Rose and Ultra versions of the consoles officially were never produced for purchase. Ultra 64 was the code name for the system but simply became the Nintendo 64 when it finally released. As far as the rose color it was a variant along with 11 others that were made as prototypes for Nintendo of Europe. Out of these 11 came the Funtastic series with rose being omitted. I couldn't find anything about the N64 with atomic purple controller going for crazy money (the highest I saw was $1,400).

Funny how the Ice blue nintendo 64 is pretty common in my country.. Whenever i look up on used n64's i mostly see the ice blue one.. for like 30-50 euro..

I remember a couple years ago, there was a developers kit on sale on ebay. It was basically N64 hardware with connectors and hardware inside a clear acrylic case.

All the prices are BNIB. Most can be found used, without box but all accessories, for around $100 or less. with box, add $20 or so.
My N64 is a green funtastic. Have the matching controller, transluscent purple controller, memory upgrade, etc.
PS I love your N64 videos, you sound so much more passionate about it! Gives me so many flash backs watching your videos! I miss those days!

The funtastic N64s are at my flea market and they're being sold for 100$ each!
I remember Nintendo having a contest where you had a chance of winning a n64 gold controller through Nintendo Power. All you had to do is complete Zelda Link to the Past in one sitting without saving your game and having a final score of 000. You took a picture of the TV with the 000 showing on the screen.
Great Video once again Stan! This video really did take me back, especially since the N64 I own is a NA Gold edition ;) I never knew how rare it really was so this really does change my perspective on it!

I had 3 of the clear colored ones! I had the black clear, the purple clear, and the blue clear. I also had a plain old one with a clear purple controller. I didn't have them all at once, though. Some of them, my cousin gave it to me because he didn't want them anymore. I don't have them anymore though. I lost them all when I moved. Never realized they were rare.. hm.
2:14 Here in Brazil was also released at the time these versions of consoles, I had Transparent Purple :)
I have the clear black n64. My mom got it at a flea market for 2$ with the games mario kart 64 and mario party 2, i think she got a really good deal.

I had one, 2nd and Charles bought mine from a 12 year old me for $20. I can’t believe stuff like that isn’t illegal. There should be a law saying you must disclose the price of an item if you’re making an offer and the seller of the item is unaware of the value. Especially if it’s from a minor or an elderly person, and especially if you’re not an individual buyer.
My childhood friend's dad always traveled to Japan on business trips and loved video games. I know he for sure had the JUSCO N64 and I think I've seen other systems he had on your other list. Haven't talked to him in like 10 years...wonder if he knows what they're worth

i have 4 original pikachu n64‘s, all originally sealed in their package :D when ps2 came out, a shop in our city sold them for 25 bucks.

This might be a bit cheaper for you, also this is the orange version wich is really rare. I have only the blue ones with the pikachu on top.

I literally 3d printed a watermelon red raspberry pi case before this video, and I'm shocked how it's the rarest out of the funtastic series.

Yeah nintendo 64 and gamecube controllers have a really bad durability, a few years back i opened a n64 controller and all the mechanics under the joystick where made from plastic :(

I saw the dark blue pikachu console at the con i went to recently! They also had some bootlegged gba games. It was so cool. I totally would have taken one home with me if I'd had the money :P
I own a Funtastic! Fire Orange 64 from 1999. I never would have guessed at the time that lt would be so rare.
Damn I wish I could go back in time or would of saved all my stuff from when I was a kid I'd be rich now but I wouldn't of had no fun back then 🤔🤐😂

I have the Australian Pokemon Stadium Battle Set console and controller, but I believe mine came with Pokemon Snap in what was called the "Pokemaniac Bundle". We purchased it sometime in 1999 or 2000, and it took a hammering over the years, being constantly played from new until the console stopped working in 2012. It was repaired with Nintendo ex-service spare parts and cleaned in January of this year, and it now looks and functions like a new one again. Wouldn't trade it for anything at this point. Still my favourite console by far.

when i was about 6 or 7, like 7 years ago. my dad gave me his old n64 as we couldnt afford a newer system like the wii. it was the default black console. with the violet or purple funtastic controller.
Also, I had 3 atomic purple controllers. I personally love the n64. I actually got it when i was 8 back in 2011.

I have a Clear Red console with the white base. I had it imported ,put in a region free tray, swapped the faceplate with the Ultra64 logo, and I ordered purple led lights to solder in the controller ports. It’s gonna be sick when they come in.

I had the Australian Exclusive Pokemon N64 box and all. Sold it a few years back with all its booklets, plastic sleeves and original cable ties in order to buy a new car. Oh how I miss it.
I have seen the Jusco console boxed on auction in Japan a few times and it always sells for about the same as the 64DD set, they don't come cheap.
I saw a mint in the box Jusco N64 at a garage sale for only £75. OF COURSE I BOUGHT IT!

On Christmas 2000, me and my cousin got the Funtastic N64s. I got Ice Blue, and he the Watermelon. I preferred the blue, but it looks like he got the better deal in the end!
I got my "modded" watermelon funtastic around 2002 with a copy of Sin&Punishment, not realizing at the time how easy it was to get them to play imports.

I think the gold controllers are more common because they were bundled with Goldeneye 007. That's where I got mine (in Australia).

ChickenNado I had the ice blue console, under my TV stand... Severley smoke damaged, Goldeneye too, and it Survived!! Pretty much the only thing that survived.

I bought the black one back in 1996 and the Jungle Green one with a matching controller a few years later. I only have the latter one, but it still works great --- just used it last week.

Wouldn’t think that anyone would put a video game console on their grocery list. And even if a person planned on getting a new console, chances are they went to an electronics store, toy store, or video game retailer to pick it up. Not sure if it’s universal or if the same coincidence would apply to that grocery chain, but often when I do look at toys at grocery stores, when they do happen to carry popular action figures or some actual quality toys besides the typical cheap and generic or poor imitation toys usually found there, they are also priced higher than the toy store sells them for. Given the typical cheap quality toys carried at grocery stores and the higher markup, that alone could dissuade people from purchasing a game console at those stores. Also, I would imagine many people probably assumed they were bootleg, imitation, or counterfeit systems and not the real thing.

"I mean, seriously, it's Poliwhirl." Back when Pokemon first appeared in North America, Poliwhirl was a Pokemon who was heavily shown in various merchandise. It was Red's first Pokemon in the Pokemon Adventures / Special manga, it was one of the noodle shapes in Kraft Pokemon macaroni (along with Pikachu, Meowth, Jigglypuff, Squirtle, and Charmander), and it just popped up in various other toys and things. And yet, despite pushing Poliwhirl so hard, it had little presence in the cartoon for a long time. It took until Orange Islands before any of its family played a noteworthy role in any episode, when Poliwhirl's evolved form Poliwrath handed Ash's arrogant Charizard its first true defeat. Then at the end of Orange Islands, Misty caught a Poliwag she used pretty frequently in the early parts of Johto until it finally evolved into a Poliwhirl. Yeah, took until Gen 2 for Poliwhirl to have even an episodic role in the cartoon.
Hey that crazy sale you were talking about, with the purple controller bundled in..? I have that, actually, my dad bought his N64 a long time ago and it came with that extra controller, I don't still have the box unfortunately but I still have the full console and both controllers
here in AUS the Funtastic PAL Charcoal (or clear Grey) console sells for $2000 boxed.

Just a small correction but the picture you used for the Fire Orange N64 is actually the Daiei Hawks N64 ;)
I owned a gold N64 briefly. My father and I bought it in 2000 at Toys R Us and at the time it was the only variety they had of N64's so we reluctantly bought it. I remember not playing it for too long before the gamecube came out the next year.
