DaManWitDaPlan thanks Mr Man with the Plan! It did take a over 2 years just because they're so hard to find but of course games like Gray Majora's mask and Yoshi's international version were tough purchases. Yoshi's has tripled in value since I got mine though!
+MarMax Gaming the ones without the "not for resale" on the front and only a "not for resale" sticker on the back could be fake. if I were you I would open them and compare them with the inside of a regular retail one, there will be a difference.
Kro DaJuggalo yes, I definitely opened them to make sure. When trying to snag games, I do like little flaws at this point because it lets you know it's the original label. You can tell when a glossy label is 20 years old. If it looks like it's brand new, probably too good to be true. It's just the way the market is now. I wish I got into collecting like 10 years ago before all of the crap which makes collecting so hard.
Really well made and really informative video! I thoroughly enjoyed the history lesson down Nintendo's past and I think the stop-motion made the video unique and memorable. You should have a lot more subscribers with content this good. Subscribed
Great video! Grey OoT seems to be getting a little more uncommon as I've only seen one every couple months and lately many of them have been faded or otherwise flawed labels. I got mine a year or so ago I believe and have seen maybe 6 new ones on ebay since I got mine. I was surprised what they were going for, managed to find one at a local store marked at the price of a regular OoT cart.
This is very impressive, I’ve started my own NFR collection recently and found steals on mine so far but I only have 3. I have Ocarina of Time, Star Wars Rogue Squadron and Mario Party 2. I can’t imagine I’ll ever get a grey Majoras Mask tho. Great video
Thank you, Nolan! Those are 3 great pieces right there, I’d be really pleased with that :) I actually don’t have six of these carts anymore, since I sold them before we moved last year. But I DID make sure to do individual videos / reviews on each of the demo carts, including gray Majora’s Mask… along with the gray DK, Turok 2, Pokemon Snap Blockbuster, Yoshi’s Story… hope to see you there! Nice Mii pic 😎
I just bought my first NFR cart, Excitebike. It has a couple rough spots on the label, but overall it looks ok to me. But even then it was 3x the cost of what you describe in your video. The price of these NFS carts is super high. Collecting all 26 will cost you 5x more than collecting all 296 NTSC games. More than enough to buy a brand new car! So unfortunately I cannot justify trying to collect them all. Im just gonna scoop up 2 or 3 of the cheaper ones to go along with me game collection
Congrats on the excite bike scoop! This vid is 6 years old at this point. Would it really be that much higher than a full set? I know there are some expensive games and a lot more of them…
@@MarMaxGaming Yes. Of the 296 games, less than 15 games cost more than $100, and less than 5 cost over $200. The whole collection can be had for around $12000 or less if you get some good deals and shop around. On the flip side, the 26 Not For Resale games today cost around $17800 for all of them, and since they are rare carts, they are harder to come by you will most likely have to pay much more for them and and their value increases by a larger margin with each sale.
I have a friend whose father has a little retro game shop. Many people sell their rare games for 2,50€ each since it's mostly little brothers selling their older brothers stuff to buy the newest CoD or Halo lmao. i got lucky with finding a copy of mario tennis NFR once. it was 5 dollars where i got it there was a sticky label over the front of the cart i carefully removed the label and it had the NFR under it :P i was lucky cause i managed to do this without damaging the original label or leaving any residue behind.
there pretty rare and only show on ebay every few years commanding extreme prices. there is two version of it. rev A and rev B. rev B is more rare than rev A and only has some extra sound tests. if you can get one its pretty much one of the holy grails for n64 collecting :P
Cool video! There's something about 64 carts that makes them interesting to look at. Maybe the big art on the front. Also, how did you guys get pictures of the plastic case with its flaps wide open? If it's a plastic case wouldn't it bend back all the time?
My local Blockbuster closed down around 2005ish and they sold a lot of their stock. I racked up on N64 games for 5 bucks a piece. Was even fortunate enough to snag a copy of Clayfighter: Sculptor's Cut. Still have them all to this day in my near complete N64 collection.
Back in the days these games use to cost 60 or 80 bucks. Now you could play them free of charge on your tablet or smartphone. Simply by downloading them from sites such as emuparadise.
Alright Jeff! Got your first video up on your channel. As I've said, I really dug this cause there are some games I didn't know had a NFR copy. Can't wait to see what else you have in store.
Really surprised they're collectibles. I remember my dad bringing me Goldeneye and I immediately asked what the Not For Resale meant. Still have the game in my Nintendo box.
Omg so that’s why gold Majora’s Mask copy that I bought at the store as a used game has a weird rectangle covered in white, it always bugged me lol. Just figured I have a special copy of the best game ever 😊
Marmax gaming I owe you a beer. I watched this video less than a week ago and boy did i strike gold lol. I visited my local gaming store and they had a nfr pokemon stadium 2 for $80 in the glass case. However, out on the rack where they have "cheaper/less valuable games" I found a NFR copy of Star wars episode 1 racer for $5.99. I was nervous thinking the clerk might catch it as i was checking out, but thankfully he didn't notice. Thanks to you i am know $50+ richer
Foulowe 59 haha, thanks! This and the SNES NFR videos went through a little youtube whirlwind where they were getting 1,000-2,000 views a day, and they continue to get 30-100 views a day or so.. the snes video was 2 years ago and is at 110k.. hopefully the gameboy NFR video catches a little steam too, since it’s newer and only coming up to 600 views now. I appreciate you watching and hope to see you check out others!
Awesome collection! Do you keep these in a burnproof safe? You have a lot of time and work in tracking these down. This video took a lot work! Thanks for all the hard work.
Hey thanks a lot! It’s funny how it was my first video on the channel and how it blew up to 120k+ views… people like to hear about rare stuff, I suppose! My other videos are more.comprehensive videos about playing through games with full attention on the gameplay along with the audio video! Appreciate your support
This video is missing the "Clayfighters 63 1/3 Sculpters Cut not for resale" It was a Blockbuster exclusive and exclusive for demo use, a game shop has one for sale 40min from me for $7999.99
Interesting you say that... there’s actually not a single picture out there or Clay Fighters NFR noted anywhere on the internet at all. It’s been noted on several sites that there are 26 front label Not For Resales. Definitely get a picture of that one, I don’t think it’s actually part of this set...
@@MarMaxGaming I should be going back this Saturday, I'll try and get a picture of it for you to show you. I recently decided to start picking up n64 games because I have a lot of nostalgia for the system...I honestly couldn't believe the prices. I picked up a Mario 64, Zelda MM, Zelda OOT and an expansion pak and it was $330cad! Anyways I subbed, and I'll be going back for a few games so I'll grab a pic. I "think" thats what the game was, but I can't remember 100%. I was just shocked by the price. If I can I'll try and get a look at the cart too, I know what to look for to tell for fakes (color of pcb, dot above "i" in nintendo logo, production stamp on back label, etc). I'll get back to you bro.
@@TeamGun that’s really rough, I hate that you had to spend over $300 for an N64 with a few games... but I’m glad you picked up some great titles! Have you ever looked on eBay for anything? The value should be better than that. Supporting local game shops is a cool thing to do but when they charge so much, it’s kinda like... yeah, okay, no.... lol
@@MarMaxGaming bro that was for just the games and expansion pak! I already had the system. But I wanted to look in person because I wanted to make sure I bought legit carts. But in my area, those prices are basically what everyone is selling them for . An hour any direction, a normal copy of Mario 64 is $40-50, Zelda OOT is $50-60, and Zelda MM is $60-80. Because Canada LOL but yeah, I'll get in touch and I see that game again. Probably the store just marking something up, but that price was so extreme I'm wondering if it actually is something special. I'm sure you'll know by looking at it.
@@TeamGun ah dang man! Well I get that... if it means anything, my entire legitimate collection has come from eBay. You can often tell that the fake carts are listed for cheap from China, whereas the ones with a little bit of wear or age on them, from sellers with good feedback, are totally fine. Yeah the price is intense, I’m wondering if it’s a Scuptor’s Cut with a back label NFR? Or if they have just overpriced the crap out of an already expensive Sculptor’s Cut. Well that’s awesome you’re getting your N64 games back though and ready to have a great time, man! You might be interested in the Mario N64 Games vids, or the one where I found acrylic shelves that can display your games super nicely on your wall! Looking forward to seeing the pic and hearing what you get next, my friend!
There was also a NFR Conker's Bad Fur Day. I worked at Electronics Boutique at the time. Nintendo sent us an early copy of it to take home. I wish I still had it.
Chris Covers an NFR with a sticker, I assume? There wasn't a front label NFR, to my knowledge. Probably because that's not the kind of game Nintendo would want in kiosks for all the kids to see :p
Thanks so much for watching! This is a fun sense of closure to have learned of the set from you---and now years later, you acknowledge me on a job well done. Lol
I'm gonna guess that the last ones are much more common because at that time stores were disposing of N64 kiosks to make space for the GameCube and when they disposed of the Kiosks many of the latest demo titles found there way out to the general public.
I once found a copy of Pokemon Snap NFRS Demo. Wish I had kept it. Got it in a lot with an Ice blue 64, 3 ice blue controllers and a bunch of games, some having cases. But I knew that NFRS Demo was worth something
I bought a not for resale copy of super Mario 64 I found quite a few years ago for like 30 bucks just cause I thought it was interesting to own. Just found out a few days ago how much it’s going for now
PRGSPY_RBLX_OfficialYT does it matter? It's video games. I play over half of these in emulation now. Enjoyed them as a kid. But wouldn't dare spend money on them now. ESPECIALLY now seeing I can get them for free. Cool Boarders...i still have that cartridge. I don't know why I loved it as a kid. Lack of choices I guess. But I can't stand that damn game now lol
PRGSPY_RBLX_OfficialYT the thing is, Nintendo didn't start out with even allowing tom distributers. It happened years and years ago illegally. And at that time, I could understand them being angry took away sells. But when they officially did not distribute the product themselves, there was no way to get it unless you already had copies, knew someone, or bought it from a person who had it. Nintendo no longer made it. Nor were they sending it out as roms. That was just what the internet had. Since that time roms and emulators have been in the internet like pools of water. Lakes, oceans, rivers, however you want to compare it, because it's dumb to buy water, when you have it already available, unless you just really enjoy the bottle it's in. They're essentially bottling water and making you pay for it is the point. Plus.....this whole NOT FOR RESALE cartridge thing....nintendomisnt selling them. These are people who already have them selling them to others who want it. Nintendo has no process in the deal. It would be like your friend from school bought the game 20yrs back. Now you want it. And you buy if from him. When you bought from him, how much did Nintendo make from THAT transaction that day? Emulators and roms are like porn and pictures in the internet. It's out there. There's virtually no way to stop it now. Back in 2006 when I was stuck in barracks on marine base just saving money after my Iraq tour and waiting to E.A.S. out, I was just looking for a way to play old nes to ps1 games in my browser. Found out about emulation. And since then I've replayed games I had as a kid, which I had every system except dreamcast. And I've had a chance to play games I've never played. O have emulators and every game I like and enjoy on hard drives. And themselves foe transport. And with new technology, on my tablet and cellphone. I'm sure others do as well. As I learned about it late in the game. There were already help about configuration and all that. My point...if there ever comes a time when internet tries to monetize "water" people still have a stock already. And in the world of technology, all you have to do is copy and paste and send. And it's right back on the internet again. If they wanted to monetize it and be effective, they would be done it from the start. But now we're at a point where buying it is just a dumb decision. Support new games. And new creators. But there's on reason to pay for what you get for these every old titles. Unless you just LOVE the bottle they come in. And a NOT FOR RESALE cartridge just isn't that nice of a bottle
Marty Santiago Turok Rage Wars does have a rare gray variant; this video was just to highlight an overlooked “set” of cartridges. There are definitely a lot more than 100.. there are 5 copies on eBay alone at this very second.
you thought about doing a rom dump on the real demo carts then maybe code breaking it to see what all they had on the cart might have been a reused cart with another game or game fragments on them?
I would sell my soul for those Majora's Mask carts. MM is easily my favorite game of all time. Plus they would go beutifully with my normal Gold Cart and my Grey JP cart.
An ESRB RP cartridge! I didn’t know one of these even existed for the N64. I wonder how far ahead DK64’s demo was released for it to still be in that stage.
Wario cap Productions those are so rare, yes.. I remember there was the Australian one on eBay for a while. I wouldn't spring for the smash bros NFR without knowing 100%.
I'm a collector as well, and while I appreciate the historical importance of these carts and understand these are somewhat uncommon, I would never ever pay hundreds of dollars for any of these. But clearly someone is, I guess... makes me smh sometimes, but to each their own I suppose.
Igor Kolosha something to keep in mind is this is what they were worth once I completed the set. I was focused on just finishing the set and 26 games seemed doable! I love the used game market because money isn't lost, you can sell it back whenever.
I once had the Zelda Majora's Mask Gray demo cartridge in my hands a few years ago the store beside the one I work was getting rid of old stuff and they throw away the cart I saw it but didn't care fuck my life. #regrets #mylifesucks #damnit 😭
Andre Eichstedt Hello Andre, These are all of my games. I got them by looking to collect them all for about 2 years. Thanks for watching! If you liked this, you should see my Not For Resale video for Super Nintendo! Let me know what you think!
The funny thing with the NFR games, is that you actually don't see any PAL versions anywhere. Except I've been told that Turok 2, has both a PAL and NTSC NFR cart... A complete, completed collection would have the PAL version. 8-)
I have seen your SNES collection. By the way I just got screwed from that Smash Bros NFR :/ My friend was selling it to me and it turned out he tampered with it writing "403 Best Buy" or something like that. I'm returning it today, but be warned that its been tampered with if you ever come across it.
My dumbass friends was the one who bought it and thought it would be cute I guess to write a Best Buy location on it. Idk why. I went over to his house and picked it up and wasn't paying attention enough to see it was the one that just sold on eBay. Ah well. I'll find another one. And not yet for snes. I'm finishing up N64 and then onto that.
Action Jackson95 I don't understand! I thought you said you were buying it from the guy on eBay?? Not from your friend that just bought it on eBay instead of you?
I didnt. I got me a Stunt Racer CIB instead. But my friend said he'd get one for me to hold it for me. He's also a collector that lives nearby and we help each other out. But he did that writing on the back for some dumbass reason. I didn't realize he bought the one on eBay and tampered with it.
I never knew they made demo carts for these, i'm surprised they had one of those types of games for N64. The More You Know. Question. Is any of these been uploaded as a rom to the internet? Just wondering.
I have a couple of these that have a separate "Not for resale" sticker. I know they are legit not for resales (they came from blockbuster as I knew people working there), but I'm curious if you've run across any of these in the wild and whether or not they'd be considered authentic because of that.
I was just looking at some stuff on nfrs and while I'm not 100% sure its real there might be a back label nfr of Mario Golf (which considering there was one for Mario Tennis wouldn't surprise me)
Definitely would make sense, I wish there was a Mario Golf front label NFR lol one of my favorite games out there. At least those back labels have unique serial numbers, but honestly I’ve never seen Mario Golf throughout all of the years of I searched for NFRs. I would occasionally run into Wrestlemania 2000, the other few back labels shown here (Mario Party, Gold OOT, and Yellow DK) and smash bros once... but never that one! I’ve got a snes and gameboy NFR set vid you may enjoy too
Crazy! A collection like this must have set you back quite a bit. :O Very cool.
DaManWitDaPlan thanks Mr Man with the Plan! It did take a over 2 years just because they're so hard to find but of course games like Gray Majora's mask and Yoshi's international version were tough purchases. Yoshi's has tripled in value since I got mine though!

the stop motion presentation is really entertaining , i never knew those N64 games were worth this much very informative video.
Kudos for using Bomberman Hero music. Probably some of the best music in an N64 game.

That is pretty amazing... I'm an armature n64 collector myself. Impressive and great vid brother!
Automatically liked for Bomberman Hero OST.
Love the bomberman music
Me too, I always loved the music in that game!
I hate it xD
You have no taste
Amazing channel dude. I've just sub. I'm looking forward for more quality N64 vídeos like yours. Thanks.
Marcelo Alves Wow! Thank you, Marcelo. That is definitely one of the nicest comments I've ever gotten. I have many more ideas that I hope you enjoy.
Awesome video! More like this please!
supernice video !
I can't remember 100%, but I think it said it on the label.
Chris Covers well if it was, that would be a completely undocumented NFR in any thread. Probably a sticker on the front, those happen sometimes.
I do think it was a small sticker, similar to what is on the front labels of the other carts here.
Greatly enjoyed the video! Well done on the collection!
Thanks so much for watching! This is a fun sense of closure to have learned of the set from you---and now years later, you acknowledge me on a job well done. Lol
Bomber man music bringing great memories back to me
Yes sir! :) such great times
I stopped putting attention at some point in the video and got more amused on how much work you had to put on all that stop motion footage.
I sold a Pokemon Snap 2 level demo - I got it as a child when my Uncle was a store manager at blockbuster. $450
That is a nice set to complete :)
I'm gonna guess that the last ones are much more common because at that time stores were disposing of N64 kiosks to make space for the GameCube and when they disposed of the Kiosks many of the latest demo titles found there way out to the general public.
Seemed that way for sure!
Great video. Very informative. Thanks!
SyKoSyMaTiK thank you! Remember to subscribe for more.. will be doing videos just like this for the Super Nintendo and Gameboy.
good vid man
Thank you, Johnny!
I once found a copy of Pokemon Snap NFRS Demo. Wish I had kept it. Got it in a lot with an Ice blue 64, 3 ice blue controllers and a bunch of games, some having cases. But I knew that NFRS Demo was worth something
Oh did I mention I picked everything up from a local Goodwill at the time
For $27
Stop motion = Instant sub
I bought a not for resale copy of super Mario 64 I found quite a few years ago for like 30 bucks just cause I thought it was interesting to own. Just found out a few days ago how much it’s going for now
Your videos are AWESOME i subbed ;) ;) I'm supporting you from venice
SalimOfShadow thank you man! Really appreciate that! And yes, to your other comment-it took me over 2 years to complete the set.
Super cool!I'll keep following your vids! ;)
Never knew this was so valuable. i have the Yoshi's Story nfr
Lily Verseveld hey baby
Good for you (If what you say is legit)
PRGSPY_RBLX_OfficialYT does it matter? It's video games. I play over half of these in emulation now. Enjoyed them as a kid. But wouldn't dare spend money on them now. ESPECIALLY now seeing I can get them for free. Cool Boarders...i still have that cartridge. I don't know why I loved it as a kid. Lack of choices I guess. But I can't stand that damn game now lol
Agon Leed you know Nintendo is starting to cut down on ROM Distributors right?
The gold Zelda (Ocarina of time)tripped me out because, it looked like Majora’s Mask.
I'd sell my soul for all of these games immediately!!!
Haha don’t do it!
You forgot turok rage wars. There is only 100 copies of the grey cartridge.
Marty Santiago Turok Rage Wars does have a rare gray variant; this video was just to highlight an overlooked “set” of cartridges.
There are definitely a lot more than 100.. there are 5 copies on eBay alone at this very second.
ooohhh I would love that N64 Kiosk with the N64 crt! 8) I've recently got my N64 UltraHDMI modded and should play it some. been too busy! ;O
I worked at funco land have quite a few of them great video on them 👍
James Rivera FunCo Land was the BEST place to look at video games back in the day!
you thought about doing a rom dump on the real demo carts then maybe code breaking it to see what all they had on the cart might have been a reused cart with another game or game fragments on them?
They’ve been dumped! All google searchable!
very informative
I would sell my soul for those Majora's Mask carts. MM is easily my favorite game of all time. Plus they would go beutifully with my normal Gold Cart and my Grey JP cart.
Surprise Pie lol your soul is worth more than $1500!
dud, i had it, still have, but in 3 pieces, damm i fee so down right now, i could use the money selling it. but my 5 years old nephew broke it. =(
Surprise Pie stfu
Bro I have the golden NFR copy 😊 But doubt I’ll sell it.
Surprise Pie don't say that please. It hurts me when people don't want a soul
An ESRB RP cartridge! I didn’t know one of these even existed for the N64. I wonder how far ahead DK64’s demo was released for it to still be in that stage.
It is a really cool thing for sure! Those demos were in the kiosk however many months before Christmas!
Pro Tip: Super Smash Bros is an Uncommon Back label cart. Price is around $200
The European version of DK64 is grey.
The Japanese Version Is Also Grey.
I've got Blast Corps not for resale, bought it in the early days of ebay for ~10€ :D
MegaButze Must have been a back label?
I once had the Zelda Majora's Mask Gray demo cartridge in my hands a few years ago the store beside the one I work was getting rid of old stuff and they throw away the cart I saw it but didn't care fuck my life. #regrets #mylifesucks #damnit 😭
The G33k shit man! That's totally what happened to the majority of these. Thrown away after use and only some thought to hold onto them!
Cool video! I dropped you a sub!
Great video
Thanks, Jan!
Hi,
Great Video and info. Top!!!
Do you own all the Games in the Video? and if not how you got them for the Video?
Thank you
Andre ;-)
Andre Eichstedt Hello Andre,
These are all of my games. I got them by looking to collect them all for about 2 years. Thanks for watching! If you liked this, you should see my Not For Resale video for Super Nintendo! Let me know what you think!
Wow, great, Respect ;-)
And for sure, I will check your Super Nintendo collection not for resale out.
Thanks for your reply
Andre ;-)
Andre Eichstedt I appreciate that! Your comments and views help my small channel get noticed. If you subscribe, I promise you will be entertained!
I believe that, I hit the red button for you ;-)
The funny thing with the NFR games, is that you actually don't see any PAL versions anywhere. Except I've been told that Turok 2, has both a PAL and NTSC NFR cart... A complete, completed collection would have the PAL version. 8-)
because most are made in Japan or America then sent everywhere else when it's done.
I remember a kiosk in an Ottawa MacDonalds playpen of majoras mask
I have diddy kong racing, 007, 1080, banjo kazooie, Turok, donkey kong 64. wooo
Great games!
I have seen your SNES collection. By the way I just got screwed from that Smash Bros NFR :/ My friend was selling it to me and it turned out he tampered with it writing "403 Best Buy" or something like that. I'm returning it today, but be warned that its been tampered with if you ever come across it.
Action Jackson95 say what! How did you figure out that he wrote it?? That's crazy, man.
You collect the snes NFRs too?
3:01 its really an irony that the rarest n64 game were created by rare themselfs..
Off topic, but is there any way you have a list of the music you used in this video?
ctdjazz bomberman hero music! Redial, Zip, etc you should check out their ost :)
love the bomber man music
u made me go play jet force gemini
Haha nice! I still need to play that one
O my gosh.....I saw a NFR Sne s cartridge at half price book store
nice! remember which one?
@@MarMaxGaming su per Mario Allstars!
I never knew they made demo carts for these, i'm surprised they had one of those types of games for N64.
The More You Know.
Question.
Is any of these been uploaded as a rom to the internet? Just wondering.
Figures the one i have is the most common. Pokemon Stadium.
I got a grey Majora's Mask NFR for only $50!!!! What a steal!!!
The moment I saw the listing, I ran 8 blocks to my CVS and got a gift card...
Wario cap Productions lol you got a reproduction for $50.
MarMax Gaming yeah I know I just realized😭. Still worth it
I have a not for resale copy of Sonic The Hedgehog 2!
Nice, that one’s a different situation.. they came like that if bundled with the Sega Genesis.
I have a nfr Zelda collection copy for the game cube.
