I could remember several years ago I was diagnosed with BPD. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my son recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. If anyone here happens to be from New York please let your local senator know that you support assembly bill A114. It would be a huge step forward for New York and one more domino towards federal legalization. With the institutes we have in this state it could become a central hub for research and that progress could impact mental health everywhere.

At least mushrooms you cant take the same amount twice... it has a tolerance level. It naturally requires you to chill out and wait before you do them again. Its in its own category.
Not only that, but in my experience, tryptamine psychedelics that effect serotonin have an anti-abusive property where the more frequently I try to take them, the more I'm repulsed by them.

I agree about the schedule 1 hurdles in the USA but I also wonder about on the state level. Many states have legal marijuana even though it is still schedule 1 on the federal level. This creates a weird legal grey zone but federal approach has been hands off. I would not be surprised if psilocybin takes a similar route.
The feds know how much money weed makes for the states.
In my area, shrooms are pretty much everywhere now, I've been offer more shrooms than weed some nights. Always scale and don't get into excess. everything I do sober, I can do under 0.5g. I love the effects on the mind and body for the next couple of days. I don't wan't to miss the boat with shrooms legalization.

Agreed. It's VERY cheap and VERY easy to grow these yourself, and even if you consume them every day (ie as part of a microdosing schedule), you're only consuming tiny amounts. You can literally grow a year's worth of mushrooms in a couple of monotubs!

Decriminalized here in Oregon and everyone I know and their mother grows them now, no one talks about it of course unless you are of the same mindset, but it’s almost as cheap as weed, whereas I used to be slightly more expensive now herb is about $30 an ounce here for outdoor and mushrooms are 30 to 50 for indoor.
Guides or reliable friends along with positive meditation music are probably good for first timers. I personally do not like being indoors when they take effect.
Psychedelics are just an exceptional mental health breakthrough. It's quite fascinating how effective they are against depression and anxiety. Saved my life.

Just because cannabis regulation isn't ideal now doesn't mean we can't do it right with mushrooms. The best thing is to grow your own, where you have complete control over the process, but that's not a pragmatic solution for the vast majority of people.

I think idc what they do cause when I want to do some I’ll buy them off the street or forage for them myself in the woods. I’ve only done them twice and I’m forty four years old. I didn’t get addicted and I’m a very easily addictive person. I did love the feeling and would love to have an eight right now. I live in Harlan Kentucky and they are hard to find for sale or in woods. Wish I knew where to get some now.

It's all about the money and resources it takes to enforce these unjust laws. When it becomes too expensive, the government gives up. Basically, there are other paths to freedom besides the slow, arduous process of the standard legislative process.

I hope it becomes recreational. Its decriminalized in Michigan. Here in ohio, cannabis finally made it. Now of course, with everything, its not for everyone. You have to wonder why they are illegal when Amanitas are legal. The actives in them are very similar to most benzodiazepines. But benzos are regulated and the mushrooms are sold in chocolate bars in smoke shops all over the country. Just like weed the laws don’t make a lot of sense.

Prior to cannaibis legakization they made cannibinol and sativex. People that did it later preferred the herd.. then it became legal. They failed in this path once before . There is now precedence against this.
A mushroom trip can be an amazing thing, but don't underestimate the psychological risk of having a bad trip. It's not that difficult for someone inexperienced to take too much, or in the wrong setting, or with the wrong mindset. I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone, so I think having them legally available with a ~license~ of some kind would be ideal.
Anyone who is actually prepared to take them in a positive way would have no trouble accessing them. If you have nothing against driving requiring a license then I think this makes sense.

Though I wonder if there is a difference because the effects of alcohol are so much better understood by the culture, that people more or less know enough to make an informed decision without the extra step. Frankly it's easier to have a handle on alcohol. It only requires the most basic amount of self-awareness to realize when you've had enough... you can't take too much all at once and suddenly be in another dimension you were not prepared for.
People can definitely harm themselves and others if they are having a bad trip. Lots of people have needed real psychological help in one way or another because of it. I personally damaged some property because of one and I was someone who was well-informed and experienced. And really having to go through the experience was the worst part. If you think there is no risk involved then you just haven't had a bad trip or are idolizing it as a cure-all thing. Don't get me wrong, whatever happens you always use the experience positively and be all good. And I'm not denying the positive potential it has.
Here's the best analogy I have... drinking is like driving a car, tripping is like flying a plane. Statistically you're safer in a plane than in a car but that's partly because of how much special training goes into becoming a pilot. People who are willing to break the law to trip have likely put a lot of care into being prepared.
Ultimately I think we should have no laws, when we really don't need them one day. They're like having bumpers up when you go bowling. It's kind of necessary for kids to have a good time but once you've started to master it, it becomes a hindrance to having fun. The culture overall is still new and childish when it comes to psychedelics. When it's a well understood think by the average person then fewer hoops will be needed to jump through.
Please no licenses, no big government. Progressive government does not have to be a big government/ nanny state.
Fun fact most people aren't aware of, there are several things you can take to almost completely end a trip very rapidly if it descends into a bad experience, small amounts of benzo or trazadone or Soma to name a few.

I 100% legalization of psilocybin for medical use. However, as a medical professional having spent a year working on an inpatient psychiatric unit early in my career I have seen very real dangers to the abuse of psychedelics. I saw numerous admissions of individuals who had underlying mental health issues prior to use. I also saw a few youths who had their initial psychotic breaks while using a psychedelia drug. I think this drug should be legalized under a medicinal use model. Unfortunately this could limit access for some people who need this medicine, which is unfortunate of course. However, the goal in medicine has to be to not do harm.
🤪 I am a mentaly ill person and the worst drugs I ever took from a Dr was anti-pyschotics, turns out didn't need you drug dealers just a good dose of LSD.
What about access via a license? People do get great value taking them from a healthy state... it's not necessarily just to treat people with issues. I do think there should be some hoops to jump through -- something that is no problem for someone who is actually prepared to take them responsibly.
It may sound heavy-handed but I kind of like the idea of only being able to purchase a small amount at a time and requiring a little evaluation to see what your psychological state is, by someone with personal experience, to see if you're ready for more.
When I used them back in the day, I knew all about them on paper and would have passed any sort of written test about them to get a license, theoretically. Over time though I started to depend on them too much for insight, not spending enough time integrating and getting grounded again. And that's how I ended up taking too much, too soon, and I wouldn't wish that experience on anyone.

It's closer to having a few drinks or an anti anxiety drug than anything. Amanita is GABAergic and most psychedelics are serotonergic, hope that helps

I grow psilocybin cubensis in my home and I don't care if it's illegal or not! Nature should not be illegal.
In the Netherlands they where legal for many years. but they got banned because some tourists died doing stupid things. It was never proven that it was because of the mushrooms, or that they had a mental illness. Good thing is the magic truffles are still legal and in my opinion even better (Magic truffles are the sclerotia of psilocybin mushrooms).
Truffles didn't work very well with me, only schrooms I've had a bad trip on, wasnt very visual at all or like scary visuals, more my brain working on loads of negative stuff in a particularly social situation I was in where it didn't help.. not the strongest schrooms I've taken but the most introspective.. if I were to take them again it would be alone
1000% should not be legal!!! I used to love to trip but it can be dangerous. Especially when you are not used to feeling that way and dont know what to expect. Shrooms are an illegal drug in most states and thats the way it should stay.
