Directly opposite the lift in the hallway you can lean down on the boxes and the aliens can't see you. At one point i lit a flare and placed it in front of me - the aliens came up to it and were right in front of me. Sometimes they may run or scout into you if you're unlucky. Another point is the room with the suits and hidden in the corner right next to the save point. The only problem with the save point is sometimes when an alien drops from the vent it's tail may touch you and game over but that's only if you piss them off too much. You can throw flares, noisemakers, smoke bombs, flashbangs, EMP mines into the lift to attract them then hit the shit out of both of them concurrently with pipe bombs and molotovs and they just run for the vent. Time it so you thow the bait just before they drop for maximum effect.

I see you are also a glitch seeker in Isolation as well. Now I really will have to play it more since I obtained the steam version and am able to record properly now x) Used to just be on console here, so limitations weeded out a lot of opportunities.
