What i find cool about reefbacks is that after the garg went extinct they had no natural predators since they were just too big, so now reefbacks live in peace until they die of old age
the Reefback calls used to terrify me back when i first starting playing. I refused to go into the grassy plateaus until i watched someone else swim harmlessly next to them. back then, i was given the advice that wherever there were whales, it was safe. so i ventured pretty far out into the plateaus, and i saw the Reefbacks hovering over a wide, open area. must be safe, right? there are whales! my PDA informed me that i was mistaken and i got the fuck out. Reefbacks swim over the dunes sometimes

But the databank entry defines it as a leviathan: Squidshark, a leviathan-class predator at the smaller end of the scale, with complex, squid-like adaptations which allow it to hunt a wide range of prey.

Even if the dragon can kill you easier, that reaper roar is DEFINITELY more iconic, and has more of a "you're fucked" vibe
If you can hear it, the reaper can see you...
bro ghost leviathans dont need no sound💀💀🙏
The thing is, reapers are SO much faster than sea dragons that they can just about get you before you can even figure out their there

Yes, not even whales are free from predators... although I suppose the Reefback shell does quite a bit ...
I think maybe if they wandered out into the void they'd be torn to shreds, otherwise the crater is fairly safe for them
@@StolenTheif Yes, but im sure reefbacks (as animals) would probably know not to wander into the dead zone

They also have Tiger plants on their shells. 4546B is a dangerous world...
3:52 there is a trivalve walking peacefully in front of the leviathan
Yeah! I lost one of them at some point, but I still have the other one.

Their basically below zero’s ghost leviathans

Reaper is easily the scariest because its by far the most aggressive.
Sea traders sound like mutos ngl
The only reason why the sea dragon was classified as a leviathan, it could easily kill a reaper
Easily ... also its size, as a very big marine creature!
It does in fact do just that, as they hunt and eat reapers as they’re the only thing large enough to feed them

Yes
I think so. According to data bank entry (PDA): ... a vast bipedal leviathan which roams the reefs in herds, grazing the seafloor.
