I’ve been a big fan since 1978. I was fortunate enough to see Steve with Journey in the 80’s. Since he’s 75 now, I seriously doubt he will ever tour again.
If you know the back story to Steve in the past 4-5 years, and then you listen to Traces and all the extra tracks that were on the special release, you can feel the raw emotion from those past 4-5 years.
I’ve seen Steve 4 times with Journey and 3 times on his solo tours. I would LOVE to see him tour again but I’m not sure that’s going to happen. I’ll cherish my concert memories.
He does a killer version of the old Beatles/George Harrison song "I Need You" on this album as well. And without surprise there's a couple of songs that sound like Journey. Great stuff.
In a recent writeup from Steve about his latest music, he said if we don't buy it, that's fine. He doesn't do it to make money. He said he just wants us to listen. And that so easy for us to do❤
There was NO Journey without Steve Perry! I would have to say his voice maybe the best male vocalist of my generation. Such clarity & strength to this day. 🤘🏻
Don't hold your breath on Steve touring. Don't get me wrong...I adore Steve and he has been my favorite male vocalist since I first heard him in 1978...but he does things on his own terms and touring doesn't seem to be a priority at this stage of his life. He does have a new Holiday album that will be released next month, and if you stay on his radar, you'll find where he's offering his backing vocals to new and lesser known bands, like The Effect (with Trev Lukather, son of Toto guitarist Steve Lukather, and Nic Collins, son of Phil Collins). The main thing I think most fans hope is that Steve is enjoying life, as he deserves to after giving so much to us. I would love to see your reaction to one of his lesser known songs, "Forever Right or Wrong (Love's Like a River").
Always remember that Steve Perry was 69 here. As you get older, your voice changes as well, especially with tenors. Most of them will not be able to sing the high notes that they used to sing when they were younger. The best way I could describe Steve’s voice is like honey: it mellows out with age, but it’s still sweet.
Thanks for shining the light again on Steve. I believe he sounds great. Im not sure he could sing any Journey songs due to copyright, legal matters. He could probably do some covers along with original material So glad he returned.
Steve has legal rights to Journey's songs and merchandise. That's why,for an example, on the last episode if the show ," The Sopranos ", they wanted to use " Don't Stop Believin " in the last episode. The makers of the show had to ask the permission from Steve Perry, Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon if they could use the song.
Steve has a Christmas album coming out on November 8. Also, please react to Steve Perry's song Most of All. It's so beautiful. Can you react to Clay Aiken's video for "The Way?"
He IS simply the best. To quote THE great Tina Turner. But this tour thing just will NOT HAPPEN. Sorry guys. He has even said this quote consistently, and often. So just....NO! But we always have his great music to listen to whenever we want. And the fact that you cover it still proves it's among the best! 🍻
A must reaction for any big fans of journey, voyage a tribute band of journey .a look a like Steve Perry and on par with voice as well,Hugo singing mother father or one of there own songs in my heart.beleive me what you journey fans got to loose you tube them right now you'll definitely after hearing them be a fan.as I said voice a match a looks and whole band spot on musicaly .

You need to do his 3 best solo songs. Oh Sherrie, Foolish Heart (heck, all of Street Talk is good) and You Better Wait. No Erasin off this album too.
Great reaction guys! Another SP tune you might enjoy is "If Only for the Moment, Girl", a song he donated to the "We Are the World" album.

Street Talk was such a fantastic album from Steve. Check out "YOU BETTER WAIT", "STRUNG OUT", "FOOLISH HEART".
To clarify, "You Better Wait" was not on Street Talk.
@@RustyHinge No, but it's still a kick ass song so I mentioned it.
Am i alone thinking his solo song Running Alone was incredible?

Steve co-wrote most of Journey's songs
He’s not just driving around some city.
He’s driving around Los Angeles in a classic Chevy Nova!
Thats a Chevelle
Still that beautiful AOR voice ❤👍
Steve has a Christmas album coming out on November 8. Also, please react to Steve Perry's song Most of All. It's so beautiful. Can you react to Clay Aiken's video for "The Way?"
Oh Sherry is still my favorite!

He's been talking about touring since he released Traces in 2018. It's never going to happen.
❤
Could you please react to “Could We Be Somethin’ Again” from the Traces album?
Steve did this group of songs for his girlfriend who passed and his fans. Does not even want to tour
Geez o got Peter Gabriel vibes from this

He and Neal Schon must stop the drama and do a album together because Steve don't wanna see Jonathan Cain( keyboardist) .
Neil Schon is the source of all the drama. All because Neil is selling off his life's work and Steve says "No."
