I heard a rumour that crab was a Boss. That boss battle was unlocked by a failed dex check by one of the tool making classes (probs Homo Sapien) when farming xp on crabs. Players should take measures to mini this spawn.
I think there's a slight misunderstanding about negligible senescence. It doesn't mean that your run won't end by natural causes, it just means that your chance of a non-combat game over doesn't increase with age. For example, a 66 year old human (team america) has around a 10% chance of dying naturally that year. By 73, that chance has doubled to 20% per year. For a lobster, that number will not increase with age, a mature lobster has the same chance as an old lobster does. But it does remain a constant threat and every year a certain percentage of lobsters will get wrecked by it.
I believe that the term "negligible senescence" implies that meaning. For instance, turtles were thought to have no senescence; it turned out that their fitness did decrease, but only slowly. I happen to believe that there is no such thing as total senescence. True, carp, turtles and Right Whales are able to live for multiple centuries. But humans, despite our intelligence, still live on average between 60- and 90-years-old. Furthermore, human mortality is still tied to conditions suspect in the morbidity of other great apes with 50-plus-year life expectancies--gorillas and chimpanzees. My suspicion is that whales and apes have such long life expectancies because they have survived as apex predators to the point that the genes associated with some cancers and autoimmune diseases have been selected out. Great apes have not survived in ecological niches long enough that these traits have been selected out--certainly not compared with cetaceans. It is unlikely that they will, since industry has largely elevated humans above the invisible hand of natural selection. Time will tell, though; a mass extinction that affects land produce may bring on the conditions to favor non-mutants. In fact, the agricultural revolution has made crop failure a greater threat than it has been since the Meso-Tertiary extinction. Hold your breath. That reply ended up longer than I expected, but I'm a little drunk.

There’s been talk for a long time about a multi planet expansion with constant terraform updates for the spectated Mars server. What would the meta look like in such an extreme and rapidly changing environment?
Other things that are dead: whatever way he thinks MinMaxing is pronounced. Mini is thoroughly useless, as the 2nd i is used in both "minimize" and "minimum". Plus, it just sounds stupid.
Haha, that reminds me back when I thought clouds were npcs, or maybe even mod players. I remember back when I played "smarter walking ape" (there wasn't a catchy name for it yet), me and my buds would group up a couple of times and gank a couple of the high tiers. We used to taunt them after, using the bone loot and wearing it as accessories. They'd get really angry after though, and threaten to call the mods. We'd get pretty scared when they said that. This one Dodo player even convinced us that the mods were the clouds- we laughed, but then Ragdoh got instakilled by a lightning attack. Yeah, after that, we spent our rests inside caves. Couple gameplays later, some freaking worm players thought they could steal the xp we stole from the loot of some bigger player that just kinda... died, and we found. Those days were a low point for us. I tried to contact the mods, but I didn't actually know how (freaking player support). But I thought "hey, maybe if I _make_ a cloud npc, the mods will hear me. I mean, they didn't, but aparently I unlocked a new skill no one else has, so that was pretty nifty. It even did critical damage to worm, bacteria, and germ players! I called it "fiya", and then all of a sudden, all the other human players started copying me. Oh yeah, and we made all the dodo players ragequit. Lol.
John Fraire You wanna talk about old times? Remember when we force- banned the neanderthals? Those players are the ones who main bacteria and fucking trees now man
i used to a fucking triceratops main and then dodo, i'm sick of all these expansions making my builds non viable looks like i'm going to pistol shrimp.
It wasn’t the meteor mains, a mod had decided to grief the meta because his precious mammals weren’t in the meta, Cataclysm is a shit mod, I’m not sure why he hasn’t been banned yet.
He wasn't perma banned, His powers as a mod were just removed, he's been trying to grief the human class for eons now but the devs keep stopping him. Talk about favoritism...
You should do a video on parasites. You know, those guys who leech exp from others without ever having to train or grind on their own. They basically spend all their time leveling supplementary skills, but then when asked to level their combat and self-sustaining skills they're like "lol making a specialty build, exp plox?" Moochers are the worst.
That would inevitably turn into a video about the most griefing, broken and OP class in the game and the most successful parasite in history, the Wallstreet Banker.
It's one thing to play the meta, it's quite another to use your OP status to completely break the meta to the point that playing anything else is suicide. At some point we have to ask if the game has just stopped being fun, you know?
CelticTheKnight Yeah, definitely. It also has the best punch ability (for it's size) and one of the best vision traits in the whole meta. Great build, not really that powerful due to it's size, but definitely fun. Edit: Also forgot it's high int stat!
Please talk about the OP giant centipede. Insanely fast speed, very high health and the basic reasoning of a rock, they're insanely OP. I believe you've heard of the infamous centipede player who managed to cheat death by eating their way out of the snake that ate them.
I am interested in this. Could you also cover lagomorphs? The rabbit playstyle has always intrigued me, despite their seeming lack of offensive strategies. Also, I don't like that people think they are rodents. They may be similar builds, but there are so many differences between the two that they shouldn't be confused!
And walk out the extinction door for the sake of every other creature, be sure to make sure wasps centipedes and spiders follow you out while you’re at it.
I'd like to see your take on the viability of parasite based classes, especially the cordyceps fungus. On paper it seems like a great build having the bonuses of fungi and then adding on the bonuses of the ant.
he did the watering hole, its not a biome per say, more like an ecotome, but its the same principle, although he focused on tow animals, i guess if he where to do it biome specific he should talk about all animals that frequent that biome.
I once saw an octopus use the disguise ability to bait a crab. It disguised itself as a starfish using a gap in the ground then when the time was right it used grab-crush to OHKO the crab.
Yo, I've seen some crazy cool fanart of unreleased build blueprints. I think the devs really want to avoid going near the 'supernatural' trait, because it would fuck up the meta due to all the unpredictable combinations. Some claim 'supernatural' used to be a playable trait in early beta versions (back when new players were convinced that the dev actually involved themselves directly with PVP disputes and bans, which we today have no dev logs to confirm), but that's very likely just attention whores and clickbaiters. No telling whether or not the fanart and fanfics are based on actual concept art or if it's just bullshit.
+Crazy Hippo There hasn't been any confirmation from the Devs. Hell, most players don't even agree on who exactly is the Dev. Some actually suggest that the entire code of the meta wrote itself or was written by accident by the meta. They deny the existence of the Dev but than some believe in multiple servers even though no one has ever visited another server or even proven it's existence. All we know or can prove is the existence of this server. Whether there are forgotten titles, glitches, or soon to be released expansion packs, like the aforementioned Zombie DLC, the very soon to be released AI mandatory download, or the oft-hinted at but never released Extra-Terrestrial spin off, is besides the point; it's not like we'll get to play as them and that's the real rip off to this game. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!

Data miners have found that some crustacean classes also have access to polarized vision, adding to defense. Known classes are fiddler crab and mantis shrimp, the later is presumed to have the highest tier vision unlocked so far.
Finally!!! A guide to this game!!! I had been picking the wrong classes and builds for eons! I once went through an entire game play as a sea sponge on the front of a dolphins nose being used as a bumper!
A sea sponge? I mean I have known academically that SOME people much play them (otherwise they would have gone the way of the dodo), but I never understood why.
I feel silly now... I keep thinking "i wish someone would make this game...oh wait..." Tbh though if this was a real video game it would blow up so fast
While you may technically be playing this game, you will never know unless you datamine information from the Datacenter itself. That info can not be found on any of the servers. I´d like to know if the Datacenter is running Transmigration of Souls as a perk, THAT would be interesting.
The Minimaxing (sometimes Minimax, MM or saddle point) is a decision rule used in artificial intelligence, decision theory, game theory, statistics, and philosophy for minimizing the possible loss for a worst case (maximum loss) scenario. When dealing with gains, it is referred to as "maximin" - to maximize the minimum gain.

Man once my emu gets enough evolution points to evolve flying these crustaceans are my farming grounds. PS wtf is with those Reddit modders, don't hate on zoo tier for playing the game better than you
What do you think about the Narwhal subclass? Is it a troll build or does it have real viability? A lot of players are surprised to learn that narwhal players exist because the concept is so silly. I think it has pros and cons, but I'd love to hear your thoughts or see it on the tier list.
It's pretty great, the horn isn't just there for Charge DPS. The Spiral Groove perk makes prey wind down towards the mouth, meaning narwhals don't need to stop moving to bank their exp.
It's pretty similar to the Dolphin subclass, but it comes with a default weapon and almost exclusive skill tree. Back in the early alpha some Horse builds tried to incorporate a similar weapon, but it fell out of popularity and became a legend due to the ridiculous hunting they faced for being unique
Dosen't matter what build you pick in ocean biome. Orca gonna fuck you up unless you only spec in HP and armour, but then you will have no offensive abilities.
I've been playing around the australian servers recently and I've noticed this weird beaver/duck hybrid build that also specs a bit into the venom tree. It seems to also spec both into the ''egg-laying'' AND ''lactation'' traits, which used to be completely exclusive to the Echidna build and thought by many to be impossible. This would definately give it a very strong start, but may prove to be a waste of EP later down the line. Your thoughts?
You mean a tier list of nothing but S+ tier classes? Seriously dude, they've been around and almost unchanged since BEFORE the Mesozoic Era Expansion. They're so optimal they fuck around and build shit like the Nurse Shark for crying out loud.
I'd love to see how you think mustelids stack up in the current meta. They're often overlooked and I think they're a dark horse of sorts. Their seemingly bottomless resolve and pure hunting prowess makes most (if not all) mustelids a more than viable class pick despite their relatively small size. From the truly feared masters like wolverines, (which are capable of single handedly taking down huge S class battle tanks such as polar bears), to the mustelids that are practically unheard of, such as stoats and ermines, they all have insane potential that allows them to take on enemies of a much larger size category. They take the best of both worlds in terms of communal care and family bonds along with self sufficiency and solitary hunting, and they manage to turn their impulsive surplus killing drawback into a huge boon by honing their attack, stealth, and scavenge abilities.
Crummles ya know, I've never understood how wolverines can pull that shit off, but I digress, mustelids are pretty damn high tier, at least a mid to high A, especially in the taiga/northern forest biomes.
also I don't know how the friking robber FLY takes out dragonflies, mantids and TIGER BEETLES, is it ambush, yeah probably, they rely on stealth and speed to land easy and fast kills on other players, however, if they are ambushed, they might as well explode because they are not good at doing that stuff called escape
Also everybody, remember, the honey badger(yes it's a badger) that is crackheaded enough to eat snake players, raid bee hives and like the damn wolverine, kill things much bigger than it
Could be interesting, as dog players have had to really change their play style to run this meta, while human players seem to view it as a better Strat then trying to raise a new human player...
HelixMaster12 But it's like forcing one or two of your teamates to play support. It's not as fun as dps, buts it's more fun than losing. Not to say wolves aren't viable, but let's just say there are more support class dogs than wolves.
Seth Koffler yeah, but several dog builds are too small for their brains and become uncontrollable for a short period every now and then. Makes them horrible to play in PvP, their only good at distracting opponents before being heavily injured and having to rely on a human to save them. Not particularly fun for anything except maybe RP servers, but low tier at best if not completely unplayable at worst.
TheApexSurvivor all small dogs are just troll accounts. You know that, right? It's really obvious to seasoned players, but normie casuals who think they're useful to keep around take them into the pack as parasites. 3:19 my friend
I’m surprised there’s no mention of the best and most viable crab build of the coconut crab. After choosing the arthropod class with the hermit build, you can become land based to free up stats which can be put into both climbing and to further invest in crush. I have no natural predators and often wreck A and sometimes even S tier opponents such as birds and cats.
A video on the mythical dragon, unicorn, and kraken builds would be pretty sweet. I've been trying to crack into the game files to find the stats on them but unfortunately what little data is left on them is corrupted.

maximizing crustaceans is my new favorite thing to say
There’s been talk for a long time about a multi planet expansion with constant terraform updates for the spectated Mars server. What would the meta look like in such an extreme and rapidly changing environment?
yes some high level members of the human faction are considering occupying mars for its potential rich XP mines.
>You were indicted
*Is fucking dead*
Other things that are dead: whatever way he thinks MinMaxing is pronounced. Mini is thoroughly useless, as the 2nd i is used in both "minimize" and "minimum". Plus, it just sounds stupid.
You could argue Min is useless as well using that logic, because i and n are in both minimize and minimum. MMaxing with Crustaceans? Oh boy!
I meant as opposed to maximize and maximum. You don't need the i there, so there's no need in minimum or minimize either.
Don't main cloud
I love the smash references
Lol.

You should do a video on parasites. You know, those guys who leech exp from others without ever having to train or grind on their own. They basically spend all their time leveling supplementary skills, but then when asked to level their combat and self-sustaining skills they're like "lol making a specialty build, exp plox?"
Moochers are the worst.
PaperFlare Nope. If I can leech and level endlessly I don't care. Plus I don't know what this game is.
That would inevitably turn into a video about the most griefing, broken and OP class in the game and the most successful parasite in history, the Wallstreet Banker.
Yet there the most effective
It's one thing to play the meta, it's quite another to use your OP status to completely break the meta to the point that playing anything else is suicide. At some point we have to ask if the game has just stopped being fun, you know?
YES
The Mantis Shrimp, especially the Crusher Mantis Shrimp, is my favourite Ocean Build. I don’t know why, but it’s super fun.
CelticTheKnight Yeah, definitely. It also has the best punch ability (for it's size) and one of the best vision traits in the whole meta. Great build, not really that powerful due to it's size, but definitely fun.

They are very low tier tank builds.
I am interested in this. Could you also cover lagomorphs? The rabbit playstyle has always intrigued me, despite their seeming lack of offensive strategies. Also, I don't like that people think they are rodents. They may be similar builds, but there are so many differences between the two that they shouldn't be confused!

I would like a guide on the canceled Unicorn, Werewolf, and the future planned Zombie
I mean he doesn't have a lot to go off of, considering that the only leaked footage has been confirmed by the devs to be faked.
The zombie leak is a hoax, I'm pretty sure some players decided to spook humans into hiding so they could get better loot.

That attack would not be as powerful if it was bigger. Structural integrity of the claw scales badly with increasing size due to the Square-Cube Law

tijzen bigger something the more reinforcement you need to make it stable.
The squared cubed law is basically why things like Godzilla don’t exist because the skeletal structure needed to have creature of that size would be mean their bones need to steel reinforced concrete

If you level Dex as a shrimp, you need to find another game.

The servers most narwhals tend to find themselves in are pretty barren. Not a lot of variety.
Lol freaking n00b doesn't know the difference between a tusk and horn XDDDD
Dosen't matter what build you pick in ocean biome. Orca gonna fuck you up unless you only spec in HP and armour, but then you will have no offensive abilities.

I've been playing around the australian servers recently and I've noticed this weird beaver/duck hybrid build that also specs a bit into the venom tree. It seems to also spec both into the ''egg-laying'' AND ''lactation'' traits, which used to be completely exclusive to the Echidna build and thought by many to be impossible. This would definately give it a very strong start, but may prove to be a waste of EP later down the line. Your thoughts?
Hm, lactation without nipples seems kinda useless. Wonder how they'd get around that. Gonna have to try this build for myself
It's 100% worth a play through
Seriously these players had to be drunk during character creation!
you should make a shark tier list
You mean a tier list of nothing but S+ tier classes? Seriously dude, they've been around and almost unchanged since BEFORE the Mesozoic Era Expansion. They're so optimal they fuck around and build shit like the Nurse Shark for crying out loud.
I like this idea
The peacock mantis shrimp is literally one of my fav animals, they're so fascinating!
Just found this channel, really interesting way to explain this stuff to people. Keep it up!
SharkNinjaBlueStar really tenacious bastards
also I don't know how the friking robber FLY takes out dragonflies, mantids and TIGER BEETLES, is it ambush, yeah probably, they rely on stealth and speed to land easy and fast kills on other players, however, if they are ambushed, they might as well explode because they are not good at doing that stuff called escape
Also everybody, remember, the honey badger(yes it's a badger) that is crackheaded enough to eat snake players, raid bee hives and like the damn wolverine, kill things much bigger than it
Love the mantis shrimp. They also have a lot of evolution points in vision - they can see about 500 times more color variation than the human build.
Could you maka an episode about the squad meta between human players and dog players?
Could be interesting, as dog players have had to really change their play style to run this meta, while human players seem to view it as a better Strat then trying to raise a new human player...
Seth Koffler People tend to forget that humans exploited in the dog class by forcing wolves to invest in certain traits.
I don't know how I came to this channel, but looks like I will stay here because your work is awesome.
Just finished watching all of your stuff. This channel is amazing.
