    The good thing with starbase is that they are used to storms, just from another source 🙂

    Great update🤺 have wondered why SpaceX doesn't enclose the exposed parts of the OLM with steel as they have done with the legs, leaving enough access hatches and air pouches. The same with SQD arm except use a flame proof concertina type of conduit.

    What is the storm surge at Boca Chica expected to be from Beryl ???

    • @michaeldeierhoi4096
      @michaeldeierhoi4096 18 дней назад +1

      At this time north of Corpus Christi which would be a couple hundred miles north of BC.

    • @ernestgalvan9037
      @ernestgalvan9037 17 дней назад

      At 16:00 CDT in Brownsville, storm surge at the Island is expected to be only 1-3 feet.

      @@The_DuMont_Network…well, I live a few short miles away from StarBase, and can confirm that the storm is, indeed, already north of Boca Chica, and headed up Houston way, where my brother lives.
      And yes, the storm has not made landfall as of 16:00 CDT, but the outermost bands are already impacting us… very dark grey clouds, and some good rains.
      And I don’t smoke… 😎 🤠

    According to the NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER and CENTRAL PACIFIC HURRICANE CENTER, as of 10AM CDT, it has sustained winds of 65 mph. Not a hurricane yet, but getting there.

    Anyone know what becomes of the Ships in the rocket garden when a hurricane approaches? Or are their parking spots equipped with anchor-points to prevent tipping over?

    • @michaeldeierhoi4096
      @michaeldeierhoi4096 18 дней назад +2

      For this storm there is probably little concern, but for a major hurricane maybe they move them into the high bays.

      @DUKE_of_RAMBLE 18 дней назад +1

      @@michaeldeierhoi4096 Yea, I saw someone comment that this one has already made landfall.
      Yea, I also figured they might cram them into the highbays.

    Construction efficiency needs to be greatly improved!
    At least more than 100 launch pads and hangars need to be built within 2 years (and certain transportation/communication infrastructure and power fuel facilities underground to save space), otherwise it will be difficult to complete Musk's launch goals.

    I love how quick things go at Space X. No waisted time! No other company stands a chance competing against them. By the time they'd catch up..Space X is "Lightyears" ahead again !!

    • @michaeldeierhoi4096
      @michaeldeierhoi4096 18 дней назад

      FYI Most other rocket companies don't care about catching up to Space X anyway because they have their timeline and goals to work toward.

    • @michaeldeierhoi4096

      Right next to Tower 2 of course!! 😂 But seriously, I have not heard anything about where the OLM for Tower 2 will be and maybe they can't start on that until the piles are finished emplacement.

    Shouldn't be too much cause for concern considering Boca Chica would be on the weaker western side of the storm, most likely 40ish mph winds or less and light rain
